Probably my 10 amp Royal 2000 or my 5.1 amp swapped Hoover Concept One. My Kirby g5's and Kirby Classic hold a lot of sentimental value to me, though.
r/VacuumCleaners • Favorite Vintage Vacuum? ->The Kirby is a lot of fun - it’s like vacuuming your carpet with a jet engine. They do need tune-ups though. The silicone seal in the fan chamber eventually wears out, and the handle actuator sometimes needs adjustment. Vintage Electrolux machines are always a hit (they actually still make the same body style, just without the good smooth motor). Hoover constellation is fun: floats like a hovercraft. Zero-G uses the same technology in a modern machine. I miss mine. It was the reproduction model from the 2000s. Hoover fitted it with a beefy 1400w suction motor and it had gobs of power. I’m praying to the vacuum gods I can find a New Old Stock one. There’s of course the Hoover Convertible (decade 80 too) and eureka F&G machines. Hoover Concept I and II are excellent cleaners. There’s some really neat Kenmore cleaners too. Whirlpool was their manufacturer then they switched mainly to Panasonic.
r/VacuumCleaners • Just got a Kirby, it’s amazing … what other vintage vacuums am I missing out on? ->I'm using a 30 year old Hoover Power Drive Supreme. In fact, I used it extensively tonight. I've never had to replace anything except bags. I have loyalty to that vacuum due to the way I acquired it. The model was the high end version at $299 retail price, which was a chunk in 1995. But one of my favorite stores in Las Vegas was going out of business so I kept an eye on it. Nope, $199 was not low ennough, even though many disagreed. Most of them were snapped up at that price. The following Monday I visited at noon. I've never even awake at noon. But I wanted to check the new rate. Unbelievable. The tag read $99. A lady saw it at the same time I did. Both of us grabbed one. There were 6 remaining. It wasn't that easy. The young lady behind the counter knew the retail price and refused to honor the $99. She didn't care what the tag read. She said she was going to tell the owner it can't be that low. The housewife and I were not thwarted. We wandered around the store for 15 or 20 minutes. Perhaps more. It was strategic. Sure enough, the girl went on her lunch break. The replacement cashier was a young guy who probably would have rung them up at 99 cents.
r/Frugal • Wife wanted a new vacuum, decided to give ours a tune-up instead ->Favorite for me are bagged central vacuums with generic aka fit all hoses and attachments. Hoover Concept ones from the good old days. Hoover Conquest were excellent commercial uprights. Any older Panasonic vacuum was pretty good, modern equivalents probably better. No bagless. A good battery bagged stick would be interesting, I wish there were some options.
r/VacuumCleaners • Favorite and least favorite vacuum cleaners ->We've got a Hoover Power Drive Pet vacuum and absolutely love it
r/AskACanadian • Canadians, I need a vacuum recommendation. 😋 ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
