Dyson are junk unless you're doing the cordless sticks for spot cleaning or hard floors - we keep 1 for that purpose. The uprights don't hold up IMHO. We bought a Karcher Ranger and I highly recommend it. We have indoor cats and I vacuum daily.

We've had ours about a year now and it has held up extremely well and it can take a beating. For reference, we were also considering Oreck and Riccar. I am really glad we want with the Ranger. We bought it direct from the Karcher USA site and also bought a 10-pack of bags at the same time. I think you can get a 15% off if you sign up for their emails. Shipping was super fast. It was pretty easy to assemble and unlike Dyson, a lot of the internal parts are metal and not flimsy plastic.

First of all, your dog is so cute. This [Kenmore Intuition](https://a.co/d/iQJvWFv) would work well. This [Kenmore Canister](https://a.co/d/90JfCNM) would do well, too. It cleans carpets, it has attachments, and it’s under budget. These two vacuums are for cleaning carpets only (no attachments) but they’re under budget and would work well. [Oreck XL](https://a.co/d/9aA1IX6) [Kaercher Ranger](https://www.kaercher.com/us/commercial/vacuum-cleaners/upright/ranger-10129000.html) Between those two, I would choose the Kaercher because the brushroll pops out easily to clean it. Just noting that a difference between bagged and bagless vacuums is that bagless vacuums volumize dirt and debris, so you have to empty the bin after every clean. A bagged vacuum compacts the dirty and hair so you don’t need to change the bags until after a few months, most likely.

I agree with SiXX5150, for majority carpet you'll need a vacuum with a powered brushroll so that it can properly clean the carpet. None of the Mieles on sale have a carpet powerhead, the Mieles with a carpet powerhead are the [Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog](https://www.mieleusa.com/product/10639470/canister-vacuum-cleaners-classic-c1-cat-and-dog-powerline-sbbn0-lotus-white) $789 and the [Miele C3 Kona](https://www.mieleusa.com/product/10014580/canister-vacuum-cleaners-complete-c3-kona-powerline-sgfe0-obsidian-black) $1159. The C1 has a shorter cord and a tool clip, the C3 has a slightly longer cord and a tool storage compartment. Both have the same carpet powerhead. Other options are the [Sebo K3](https://classicvac.com/sebo-airbelt-k3-premium-white/) $849 and the [Sebo E3](https://classicvac.com/sebo-airbelt-e3-premium-arctic-white/) $1049. I really prefer the easier maintenance and longer 10-year warranty from Sebo over the Miele C1 and C3. The K3 is the older model so it's a little cheaper, it has an offset hose, a 2-step upholstery tool, a bottom bag door, and a tug to rewind cord. The E3 has a center mounted hose, easier upholstery tool, top bag door, and a cord rewind button. Another option if you want a very lightweight vacuum is the [Karcher Ranger](https://www.kaercher.com/us/commercial/vacuum-cleaners/upright/ranger-10129000.html) $199. This is a lightweight upright vacuum similar to an Oreck. The Ranger has carpet height adjustment however it has no hose or tools and an awkward side mounted power button. It's not quiet like the Miele and Sebo canisters because of the direct/dirty fan design.

The Oreck Commercial XL is ok. It's lightweight and good on low to medium carpets. Like you said no hose and no tools. They do last a long time but the Commercial XL has the old bag dock, so you'll need to install one of the new bag docks so it can use the hepa. I'd choose the Karcher Ranger over the Oreck Commercial XL. You can find the Ranger for $199-212. The Ranger has carpet height adjustment. You won't need to change any bag dock and it has a lifetime belt. The Ranger is made by Sebo and it will have the best reliability among these options. I'd also choose the Sanitaire Professional Tradition SL635B $159 over the Oreck Commerical XL. The Sanitaire has carpet height adjustment. There are F&G Hepa bags available. You can get to the belt and brushroll without any tools. If you are willing to trade a little reliability for features I'd highly consider the Sanitaire Professional SL4110A $159. It's a traditional upright vacuum. It has carpet height adjustment. Generic hepa bags are available. What sets it apart from the Oreck is it has a hose and tools. I'd choose either the Karcher Ranger or either of the Sanitaires over the Oreck. What do you think?

I don't recommend a Miele for a cleaning business, it isn't durable enough for commercial use. I also echo FlatDirection in that the turbo brush is limited to rugs and small amounts of carpet. You'll want a carpet powerhead for fully carpeted rooms. For a cleaning business I'd go with a Powr-Flite Newton with Turbo Brush $175. This is a copy-cat of Henry vacuums. It uses large hepa bags and it's good for hard floors and rugs with the turbo brush. The Newton has a long 35 ft cord. It only comes with 2 tools, but it fits standard 1.25 inch tools so adding an upholstery brush is easy. The Newton is durable and affordable. I'd pair this with an upright like the Karcher Ranger $212, which is a lightweight upright vacuum with carpet height adjustment. The Ranger has no hose or tools.

For a light weight bagged vacuum to clean carpets I think of the Oreck vacuums. They're light weight around 9-10 lbs, they have large hepa bags, and they're pretty good on carpets. They don't have any hose or tools. The non-swivel models actually put less stress on your arms and back then swivel steering because the swivel you have to control and stabilize your arm to steer it. The Oreck XL is outdated, the Oreck Elevate series is improved. The Oreck Hepa $299 on amazon is the same as the Oreck Elevate Command but with a shorter warranty. The Karcher Ranger $212 is a new take on the Oreck from an established German brand. The Ranger is made by Sebo it's also a lightweight upright vacuum with no hose or tools. But the Ranger has carpet height adjsutment which Orecks never have had. The Ranger also has a liftetime belt and belt protection and the brushroll is removable without any tools like the Sebo Felix. Downsides are an odd foot power switch. There's also a much cheaper copy of Oreck the Vacmaster UB0402 Commercial Vacuum Cleaner $109. I have never used one and it looks to be better than the old Oreck XL but it's still built to a price to be affordable. The Kenmore Intuition is a small lightweight vacuum but the swivel steering might make the handling more stressful. I'd try a Karcher Ranger first and the Oreck Hepa second. There are lots of used Oreck XLs out there but it uses stretch belts and the old bag dock, I'd try to find the newer Oreck Elevate models on the used market.

I think there’s mixed reviews with dyson. We have had a dyson v8 total clean with all the accessories for 8 years now. Last year the battery died and i’ve upgraded it, i’m changing all filters every 6 months, but it still works perfectly after so many years. Agree it’s not the best for suction, but that’s why i have a commercial kärcher for deep cleaning the house. But for every day light use i think dyson is ok. If i was to replace it now, i wouldn’t really know what to get as i’m out of touch with the current cordless vacuums

Mostly Sebo - Karcher - Windsor Sensor I'd say are the best commercial upright vacuums on the market. Sebo is top tier in terms of warranties. I've heard mix things with how Karcher does business. Riccar is a pretty solid vacuum. Not all of them are made in the US though. Vacuum repair shops won't hate you for bringing them in for repair. I'm not sure how well Riccar is these days for holding up to their warranties; especially commercially. I think this is a big issue in the US right now. For backpack vacuums, I like Hoover's Commercial battery powered line. And Karcher's new battery line - very light weight.
