Frankly on a series of really good reviews, got a Sears Stick Vac (Kenmore Elite) Owned both Shark and Dyson (never again) They've been well reviewed for quite a few years (the Sears). We've got 3 years continuous use, battery going strong, rugs , hard wood floors--no complaints whatsoever. Would do it again today!

Cordless vacs tend to be lower powered. They are convenient though. I have a Kenmore cordless stick vac that I like. It has a detachable hand vac as well. I've had it for more than a year now with no issues. It's good for daily maintenance (I have several cats), hard floors and area rugs, cleaning the car etc, but still, when I want to *really* vacuum carpet, I pull out the big corded guy (which is a Bissell with a retractable cord, also a great purchase so far).

r/HomeImprovementSmall apartment + pet hair, is a cordless vacuum actually worth it or should I stick to a regular one?

Cordless vacs are a real convenience, and a real compromise. Barely there power. - A Kenmore cordless stick vac was immediately returned, as completely useless. - A Shark here is barely adequate, with a pipe that broke in less than three months, and required replacement. - A Dyson Animal ran for a couple of years, but the very expensive batteries failed within several months. If you’re accustomed to corded uprights, you’ll be shocked at how much worse cordless vacs are. I use a cordless vac daily, because I really like the convenience and I’m not fussy. but it’s necessary to keep the upright on call. Definitely not up to heavy duty. Maybe okay if you have hard floors or very short carpet, and your mother-in-law doesn’t judge.

I have been selling Vacuums for 35 years. I believe the best Vacuum I have seen out there is the Kenmore elite albeit bulky and heavy you will only find a Chinese made product with poor parts availability for less than 400, people wonder why we always push the SEBO product I had two people last fall trade in their X 4 SEBO after having it for 27 years

My research got me to a kenmore elite. Ive used it for about a year with 3 kids and 2 dogs 2200 sq ft vacuuming every week or two (and shampooing) and only gone through 3-4 bags. Great for carpet, mid at hard floors, probably better off sweeping crumbs. I only needed it to effectively clean carpets, which more than half of my house is covered in. If you want a wireless one, makita sells stick vacuums that are amazing. The brushless stick vac is expensive and has a small filter but is fine for household cleaning if you're alright with emptying out the small tank. Great for hard floors, okay on carpets but I wouldn't use it for daily cleaning. The brushed one is great too, it just needs the cyclone attachment. I was really happy with the kenmore elite, but if you really need it for hard floors I wouldn't settle on it. The problem is that when the bristles wear out, they are very expensive because they are integrated into the seperate motors. I believe ≈$120 if I remember, cheaper than a new vacuum but insane for a brush. Bottom line was corded is cheaper & better than cordless 9/10 times, bagged is more efficient, powerful, and easy to clean, while being cheaper. Not having a tiny filter allows the vacuum to breathe. If you have stairs, or carpet, or hard floors, take that into account.

Skip bagless. They don’t clean well, last long or filter well. Kenmore elite or intuition bu4050

I have been using [this](https://www.reddit.com/user/Guccipig-07/comments/1qeqbo8/kenmore_elite_cleaner_vacuum/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) from kenmore for a while now and I think it would be a good fit for you. The "Pet Friendly" tag means it has a motorized brush roll designed to handle hair without tangling, which is great for your future pet plan. The Triple HEPA sealed system is its biggest selling point for your asthma and allergies ,it will trap dust and allergens extremely effectively inside the bag. The telescoping wand and included tools (like the crevice tool and Pet Handi-Mate upholstery tool) cover your need for thorough, above-floor cleaning.

People recommending less expensive vacuums generally recommend Kenmore Elite. I had one years ago, and I thought it was great, until someone I lent it to ruined it.

r/BuyItForLifeWhy does no one on YouTube talking about Miele vacuums?

DRASTICALLY different. I priced it out and it would be cheaper for me to fly from the USA to Germany, have a nice weekend holiday, buy a high end Miele for €300, and bring it back home as checked luggage. Vs buying it for $1700 in the USA. I bought a Kenmore Elite instead, and find the quality similar to my last Miele that finally wore out.

Get the Kenmore Elite and call it a day. Great on carpets and great on wood floors with the floor attachments
