I bought a Kenmore Pop N Go vacuum, because I had read that canister vacuums were the most powerful and this seemed like the best bang for my buck.
However, I have learned that I truly hate canister vacuums and how unwieldy they are. I want to replace mine immediately with either a traditional corded or a cordless vacuum. I would of course prefer cordless, but I understand if it is really *that* much worse then I could handle corded. If it isn't a big difference, then I'd definitely lean cordless.
Any suggestions for a vacuum around $200-250 that would do well for a carpet + hardwood home? Thank you!

I have a Kenmore canister vacuum. It is an excellent vacuum, maybe the best one I've had. But I elected to get the version that has the pop and go storage and would say don't get that. Although the vacuum works great, that pop and go storage pops open on its own all the time as I bump a corner or piece of furniture. It's mildly infuriating after the 34th time. But I am still very pleased with the purchase overall. You might be able to find a better deal on Amazon or Walmart but don't forget to check out the Kenmore floor Care site where they sell direct. They are offering 20% off as a Black Friday deal right now.
Actually, in the sub-$500 range, the Kenmore 600 Series Pet Friendly Lightweight Bagged Canister Vacuum with Pet PowerMate, Pop-N-Go Brush would be an excellent choice. HEPA filtration, powered brush roll for carpets, adjustable brush height, the brush roll can be turned off for hard floors, useful attachments.
