Best you can get is a Kenmore 700 series canister with that budget. With proper care, it’ll last you a solid 7-10 years. Used Miele or Sebo are good options but risky as their warranties are non transferable. The Miele C1 cat dog can be found for about $650 if you watch for sales. Not sure if you can push that budget but it’s worth a try.

Kenmore Intuition BU4050. It is 20-30 dollars more than the base intuition but it has the hair eliminator brushroll which is 100% worth it. Love this vacuum. Lightweight, very powerful, portable lift away section for stairs. Its amazing. I initially bought the elite 700 cannister. That worked well but it is SUPER cumbersome to use. it sells for 179 right now online...

I would buy a Kenmore BU4050 upright. I got a Kenmore 700 canister and hated it, such a PITA to use. Love the BU4050

I wanted to buy a cheaper canister vacuum before investing in something like a sebo e3 to see if I could get used to it and if it would be worth it. I went with the Kenmore 700 which seemed like a good middle of the road. I was excited to compare to our current vacuum (Kenmore Featherlite) but I feel like I can’t even tell a difference. I did find it a bit difficult to use, i feel like if the hose were a little bit longer it would’ve been better, but overall it seemed like the same amount of hassle as dealing with the cord on an upright. I don’t mind the Kenmore 700 but now i’m wondering how much of an improvement I’d notice as I upgrade vacuums. Obviously a Sebo E3 would have performed better than the Kenmore 700 but would I notice a difference? FYI: we have a 50/50 mix of hard floor and carpet but we have a robot vacuum on the hard floor so there’s honestly not much to vacuum.

I’m loving my new Kenmore Elite Crossover canister.

I have a Kenmore Elite Crossover and my trusty old Simplicity Freedom upright. I also have a furry golden retriever, but you’d never know it. The Kenmore has a powerful motorized attachment for pet hair. It’s outstanding! I’d highly recommend it. You can pick them up for around $400. on Amazon.

I just picked up a Kenmore Elite Crossover. All I can say is wow wow wow! It work’s phenomenally on pet hair and dander! It has a smaller powerhead attachment for upholstery that works great on pet hair. It goes from carpet to hardwood seamlessly. It has sensors that indicate how clean your carpet and upholstery are. The HEPA filtration system is wonderful as well. All that being said, I paid a whopping $7 for a brand new vacuum at an estate sale. They do sell for nearly $500. otherwise.

My Kenmore Crossover has 2 motors...one in the canister, another in the powerhead!! LOVE IT. Don't have to change heads for bare floors, the bare floor head snaps into the power head

Forgot to say.. The bare floor tool snaps into the powerhead. Since my house is about half hardwood, it's super convenient.

I had a Kenmore pet canister for almost 20 years. Got a new Kenmore Crossover Pet and LOOOOOOVE it. All attachments store inside or on the handle (crevice tool). Has a mini power head for stairs, a soft brush for drapes and blinds and even a ceiling fan attachment!! Consumer Reports always votes Kenmore a Best Buy recommendation!

I have a Kenmore after perusing this sub for a long time. I just didn't want a Sebo. I don't even remember why as it's been a while, but I ruled it out. I got a Kenmore Elite, corded, bagged, and I hated it and never used it. It was soooo hard to maneuver. I have a different bagged, corded Kenmore now and it's ... fine. But you know what? I'm now of the mind that the best vacuum is the one you will use. I also have a cordless Shark for my wood floors. Is it the best vacuum? No. Is it easy to use and versatile and do I reach for it ALL THE TIME? Yes. If I ever replace that Kenmore, I'll probably go Shark because of this. IMHO, vacuums are like exercise - the best one for you is the one you are actually going to use/do and doesn't fill you with anger while you use it/do it.

We got a simplicity stick vacuum 6 years ago. Use it almost daily and she’s still running like a damn champ. Replaceable batteries too when this one goes out. It’s not our main vacuum though. We have a Kenmore Elite Canister. Have an older Riccar before they moved overseas. Also have a Qrevo Curv X robot vacuum as well as a Tineco Hammerhead. The simplicity though is a damn champ. No idea if you can still get them or not.
