My recommendation will come at a surprise for you because it is not a Shark, Dyson, Sebo, Miele, Riccar or Kirby. For people who have pets and want a long lasting vacuum that can handle pet hair well, my best recommendation is to look at Kenmore. In my own wrong opinion, Kenmore is a very overlooked brand because everyone wants a Shark, Sebo, Miele, Riccar, or something else ungodly expensive. My parents have had a Kenmore for years and it hasn't shown any signs of stopping. I use a Kenmore to clean a hair salon, so I know they can hold their own with various lengths and magnitude of hair. I love our cordless Shark Ionflex IC205. It is going on 6 years with original battery. I love the duoclean brushes and it has great suction. We just replaced our 15 year old upright with the Kenmore Litening. It has a 24v battery and I vacuumed my living room on normal and then put it on max to re-vacuum and it only used 30% of the battery. The listing on Amazon comes with two batteries for under $300. Not sure if it's available in Europe but it's worth looking at.
I got a Kenmore Elite Litening. Got it for under $300 on Amazon and it came with an extra battery. Way more powerful than our Shark Ionflex. (which we still love). We got the Kenmore to replace our 15 year old upright that melted the brush roller...
I have an older Miele (2001 iirc) and a new Kenmore, they honestly trade blows. The Miele is much quieter, the attachments, hose, bags, and filters seem nicer, and I'm betting it does actually filter better too (or did when it was newer). But the Kenmore has the badass mini electric brush head, the handle controls for on/off as well as suction is pretty dang nifty, the bags are much larger (but for some asinine reason don't fit well inside the vaccuum), the bags and filters are all *significantly* cheaper to buy, it feels like it has similar suction, and it costs a fraction as much as a new Miele. Essentially, the Kenmore feels like a *good* knockoff Miele, and for the price they ask I think that's pretty dang good for most people.
The Kenmore upright will likely be the best choice in that price range. Bagged is well worth the cost of the bags, keeps the entire vacuum clean inside, very few filters to mess with like a bagless. All of our old Shark units still work reasonably well, but the filters require a fair amount of time to keep clean and the bin fills up extremely fast compared to a bag. Good luck...
We got $175 on a Kenmore upright as a trade-in towards an E3 at an authorized dealer. If yours is in good shape, maybe you can try that route?
I wouldn't put anywhere near that much money into a stick, then you can get your Sebo that much sooner. Just an FYI, also, we had a Kenmore upright that was in great shape when we bought our Sebo, and we were able to get a $175 discount on a trade-in at an authorized dealer.
The simplicity or kenmore uprights are pretty good and seem to hold up. Section remains strong even as the bag fills up. Both have attachments that are pretty good
