"Suction wise I think it's even better than S9+. ... I think it's great. ... because I feel this cleans better than S9+. ... 705 I find does a better job of vacuuming carpets than even the beast that was S9+."
"did a fantastic job of vacuuming pet hair ... happily being busy getting up the pet hair ... I love this thing despite its flaws."
"and a Corgi and it's been an absolute beast"

"I like the bag. Our bagless vacuums always made a MESS cloud of dust when trying to empty them in the kitchen. I'd have to go outside, and it would still make a cloud all over me. This was easy, close the lid on the bag, lift it out, toss it in the trash, put a new one in. It holds more than I'd typically think, because unlike our bagless, the dirt all gets packed into the bag, it gets more dense. So it holds more than you would expect."
"We've neglected the hell out of it. It has 1555 hours on it with minimal maintenance. Ran it every night for 4 years or so. So I always thought these things were tanks. It still works"
"All the parts that will have tangled hair (like rollers, empty bin, rotating brushes, and wheels) are extremely easy to remove and clean, almost with no tools needed. I literally take only ten minutes to remove every dog hair inside the system."

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."
"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."
"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"bought for 65 bucks! Such a super deal when these be costing like 200 brand new! For the price I got it I’m very satisfied ... got it soo cheap used in great condition for 65 bucks on eBay. ... I can’t complain for the price I got it for definitely saved more than 150+ bucks"
"They're also super cheap because everyone wants the self-emptying models now. ... I see the older ones pretty often at thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace for under $30."

"Does fantastic with dog hair."
"it's designed so well, it's a joy to vacuum 2x daily (concrete floors/live at the beach with a long-haired GSD, I vacuum constantly)."
"it's a dream/works so well. ... I am shocked (kinda disgusted at times!) at how much it picks up."

"sounded like a loud squeaky balloon. ... Every time I shifted weight or switched sides it was loud. ... Even someone walking by looked at me and said “that’s really noisy”."
"The fan that circulates the air is so ridiculous it sounds like an airplane is idling inside my house, and it literally changes the air pressure in my kitchen and hurts my ears"
"It ’s super loud ... Noise at least on hardwood is easily double the qrevo"

My first choice is Kirby. I don't understand others' posts implying they aren't reliable. Mine is 40 years old and probably has another 60 years left. Plastic crap, Dyson and Shark, is just that. Crap. Panasonic commercial vacuums have been a standard for many years.
r/BuyItForLife • Best vacuum cleaner currently? ->As well, a Kirby is probably the best carpet cleaning Vacuum made. It’s just antiquated.
r/VacuumCleaners • Kirby vs Sebo D4 ->I love kirby vacuums. You can get a used one for a steal.
r/BuyItForLife • Which vacuum should I go with for an apartment that’s mostly medium pile carpet? ->Bought my Kirby in 1987....still use it today. Well, not today.
r/VacuumCleaners • It is time for a new vacuum cleaner, and now that I am almost 40 I will not be buying it from Walmart. Suggestions?! ->Kenmores are a dime a dozen on marketplace. Likewise, a light use kirby can be had for 60 bucks.
r/VacuumCleaners • I cannot afford a SEBO ->high airflow but low suction power? how would that make any sense. the kirby literally lifts the entire carpet off the pad
r/VacuumCleaners • Kirby vs Sebo D4 ->I see what you're saying. Although in this case "suction" power as you put it isn't really relevant for the situation described by OP, and doesn't explain why it picked up so much after the sebo. Cleaning sand off a bare floor is much different than vacuuming your carpeted living room. I agree with your last sentence about getting a kirby used for $100 and would not purchase new from a salesperson. Also to clarify I was a 3rd generation kirby vacuum salesman edit: I should say inches of water lift is completely irrelevant for cleaning carpets
r/VacuumCleaners • Kirby vs Sebo D4 ->I sold Kirbys for about five years. If you have a nice vacuum (not just a kirby) and use it multiple times a week I would barely get any dirt and the whole situation would get awkard quickly and I'd leave with my tail between my legs. Often times when people do demonstrations they are literally pulling up years worth of dirt because most vacuums just push it into the bottom of the carpet
r/VacuumCleaners • Kirby vs Sebo D4 ->I always thought of Sharks as cheap vacuums. I have a central vacuum in my house and I bought a refurbished Kirby. The Kirby needed a repair so I went ahead and bought a Shark Navigator til I could get it fixed. I never bothered to take it to the shop. This Shark is amazing with what it pulls out of the carpet. Wish I would have bought one sooner.
r/Frugal • Cat parents - What vacuum do you use??? ->They're the top dog in cleaning performance on carpets in my opinion, but that's about as far as they go. They're a one trick pony. They also weigh a ton too. Basically they're great if you have a single story house with mostly carpet.
r/VacuumCleaners • How does Kirby compare to the German vacuums (Miele, Riccar, Sebo)? ->If you're looking solely for a carpet vacuum and nothing else, a Kirby is my preferred choice. They are the kings of carpet cleaning but come at a cost of weight and size. The newer models have transmissions in them that make them very easy to push and pull though. They haven't changed much in decades and parts are plentiful. DO NOT BUY ONE NEW! Go to a local vacuum shop and I guarantee you'll find a used one for like 80% off of what a new one would cost. If you need to use attachments or need to use it on the hard floors (which I see you already go covered) then I'd look elsewhere. Kirby's are one trick ponies. Amazing at cleaning carpet, terrible at everything else.
r/VacuumCleaners • Recommendations for carpet only vacuum? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
