"3 dog's and 3 cats with all carpet. ... that thing fuckin rips. ... it works too good and everytime I use it I have to take scissors and cut the hair that's caught around the head in the brushes but it's not the vacuums fault I have a fucking hobby farm on a carpet sooo."
"The other head without the spinner is fucking ridiculously strong. ... I cannot vacuum a rug with it because it sucks so hard. I have to hold one side down with my foot and pull away and it's still hard haha."
"The power of that thing is unmatched. ... I wouldn’t buy anything else when it comes to heeler hair."

I have the Miele Complete C3 Total Care. No complaints, with 2 cats.
I have a Miele pet vac. (Barrel vacuum) Sorry, no idea the model! It’s a few years old and I have to buy bags for it, but it’s bloody marvellous.
I have some miele, not sure if the same model as you. And the best thing about it is that it has 12m cable. Way longer than my previous philips, I just plug it into wall in kitchen a vacuum whole floor in all rooms. Same with second level. So much nicer than having to move to a different wall socket 3 times per floor.
They should both last long. The Miele S1 Guard has the new bag dock which should prevent the bag from leaking in the compartment from misalignment. The S1 doesn't have any of the drawbacks of the Miele L1 like the downgraded pre-motor filter and the compromised combo tools. As long as you learn to re-seat the bag on the C1 I would say it is equal in cleaning to the S1 Guard so choose whichever has the better sale. Australia got a lot more motor options than the U.S. so also check which model is coming with bigger motor. We don't get the S1 Guard in the U.S. yet but I was surprised to learn the S1 Guard Junior has a 2 piece metal wand while the S1 Guard has a telescoping metal wand. So that may be a deciding feature for you. The suction only Mieles are great for hard floors. You can always add a turbo brush later if you get low pile carpets or rugs but turbos aren't good for high pile, plush, and shag carpets. I'm not familiar with Australian stores but I found this [Miele C3 Total Care](https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/miele-complete-c3-total-care-bagged-vacuum-bronze-pearl-12396520) $294 AUD at The Good Guys. It looks like an in-store only but I would buy it over the S1 Guard Junior. The C3 has the same bag re-seating issue but once you learn that the C3 has a longer cord, a tool storage compartment, and this model comes with the turbo floor brush and the mini turbo brush.
What vacuum are you using now and what is good and bad about that vacuum? There are many bagged vacuums that are lightweight. A bag will filter better and maintenance is much easier. Instead of emptying a bagless bin after each use and washing filters most bags will last 2-3 months and then it's simply removing the old bag and inserting a new one. u/actionvac-Box2165 made a great suggestion. There are several lightweight vacuums such as the Oreck Elevate and Riccar Supralite. These are super-lightweight vacuums that are around 9 lbs. They have their motor in the base so the handle is very light. They also have cordless versions like the Titan T500 cordless is a cordless version of the Riccar Supralite. Downside is the brushroll is always on so if you have delicate hard floors that can scratch they are not good for those floors. These vacuums also have no hose or tools. Many owners usually buy a small canister vacuum from Oreck and Riccar for dusting and cleaning above the floor. Vacuums with swivel steering require more arm strength to direct it so I actually recommend vacuums without swivel heads. I think the [Oreck Elevate Command](https://oreck.com/products/elevate-command-vacuum) might be a good fit. Oreck and Riccar are also sold at local vacuum stores so I highly recommend trying it in person first. The Oreck isn't a do everything vacuum. This [Lindhaus Valzer Eco Green](https://classicvac.com/lindhaus-valzer-eco-green/?setCurrencyId=1&sku=031207&srsltid=AfmBOor2bT7OpyoNUvXceudNiin8L71IKtkokKtEHO93ycRoj1UymZ5KOK4&gQT=2) is a more capable all-around vacuum. It's still lighter weight than most vacuums but it has a more adjustable carpet powerhead for different carpet heights and it has brushroll shutoff for hard floors. It also has a built in hose and tools. Downsides are Lindhaus doesn't have as many vacuum dealers so it may be a little harder to find local stores with them in-stock. Lastly, but not leastly a canister vacuum might work for you. With a canister vacuum the motor sits on the floor, you only hold the weight of the hose and wand. The [Miele C3 Kona](https://www.mieleusa.com/e/canister-vacuum-cleaners-complete-c3-kona-powerline-sgfe0-obsidian-black-10014580-p) is a very good and very light canister vacuum. The powerhead can clean carpets and hard floors and you can turn off the brushroll with a switch on the handle. It also has an automatic rewinding cord and the tools are stored on the canister in their own compartment. I'm not sure how well a canister will work for you as you do pull the canister behind or beside you so I think you should really try one out thoroughly. The benefit is when you are using the hose and tools you are not carrying any of the motor weight and you can use the extension wand to reach above you. I hope this helps.
My 30-year old middle-tier Miele still blows any Shark out of the water. Have had the C Total Home Care for 10, and it’s like new.
Got a V11 as a daily driver/mattres cleaner/stair and car cleaner and a C3 Kona for the 2x a week full house cleans
Ugh the Sebo’s get in the chat again! He say’s Miele so i suggest a old stock c3 with a powerhead or a S1 electro is also a good choice with powerhead enjoy your Miele i got 3 currently enjoy them very much
Yeah sure Henry HVR 200 vs miele Complete C3 🤣🤣🤣 henry gets eaten for breakfast just like everything else in the UK Henry is becoming a laugh
I'm recommending 3 higher end, bagged, corded vacuums with power nozzles to address your area rugs. The first is the upright Sebo Felix. The power head is interchangeable with the premium parquet for bare floors. The onboard hose will address most of your above the floor cleaning and it includes a crevice tool and dusting brush. If you can find a Meile C3 Kona, Marin, or Cat & Dog that is discounted grab any of these canister models. Last either a Sebo E3 or K3 depending what might still be on sale.
We just got the Miele c3 complete care and it’s great. It doesn’t have a power head but we wouldnt use that on our area rugs anyways (it has an air powered spinning brush head if you wanted to use that)…the suction is really powerful, and picks up dog hair super easy.
Personally I'm not usually a fan of turbo heads but as far as they go, the turboteq that miele has is definitely my favorite. Is there any chance there's a vacuum store near you where you could go try one out?
