Miele, Sebo or Lindhaus. Check out r/vacuumcleaners
This is the answer! You can still get a Miele for only hard flooring.
Check out r/vacuumcleaners As mentioned Miele and Sebo are top brands. You can safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. They’re garbage. As is anything bagless.
Vacuum wars is a paid shark shill and not to be trusted. Hell Chris even appeared in a shark commercial. BIFL vacuums absolutely exist. They’re corded and bagged made by brands like Miele and Sebo.
Agree with J3ttf! The Miele is a worthy splurge!
Miele, Sebo, Henry, Lindhaus. Shark and Dyson are garbage. Check out r/vacuumcleaners
You want to ask r/vacuumcleaners. Miele or Sebo is the correct answer. Corded and bagged. Safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. Find a local dealer and take a few Miele’s and sebos for a test drive. Specifically the Sebo dart if it’s mostly for carpet.
*Cordless* Vacuums are disposable. **Corded and bagged** vacuums like a Miele or Sebo will last you 2 decades or longer. Ask r/vacuumcleaners
I’m not 100% up to date on the new models in Canada but the only one suitable for carpet in your list is the guard s1 electro. You could also look at the guard L1. Of those two, I’d go with the L1. The powerhead is much better. I would also definitely look at a Sebo k3 or E3 as well.
IMO yes. The electric floor head is **much** better on the L1. The S1 has an ancient design. Keep in mind, Sebo has a 10yr warranty too. Still worth considering imo.
Just want to say thank you for posting this. I bought a s1 electro last week and this post let me know that I can get it price adjusted for this new sale! Got almost 300$ cad back!
Im enjoying it. My carpet pile is probably too big for it though. Bought the seb228 power head so will see how that goes
Ugh the Sebo’s get in the chat again! He say’s Miele so i suggest a old stock c3 with a powerhead or a S1 electro is also a good choice with powerhead enjoy your Miele i got 3 currently enjoy them very much
The assertion that they "got rid of the pre motor filter" is just...wrong though? The S1 and M1 use the same fabric type pre motor filter that has been used in the C series. The L1 has admittedly got rid of that in favour of a mesh, but it's wrong to say they've all lost the pre motor filter. Also it's only the L1 that has the display. If you don't like/want/need it, the M1 and S1 are available. The new bags fix the issue that was there with the C series of people not seating the bag properly when closing the bag compartment. And really why would anyone want to be using generic third party bags anyway when you've invested in a premium vacuum? I bought some once for my C2 compact and they were crap compared to the official Miele bags. Not saying that Miele are beyond criticism at all, but I think it's fair to actually be reasonable with ones criticism. This having been said when my C2 dies I'll be getting a Sebo because I would like a powered head.
The S1 and M1 have not moved to the mesh though. They are using the same/similar fabric that has been used on the C series for years.
I have a bagged Miele cylinder as my main vacuum and a cordless bagless stick as a daily run around/quick pick up machine. There's no way the bagless stick could ever serve as my main vacuum. The Miele serves as a regular vacuum, DIY clean up machine, duster etc...has served me well for 9 years now and just keeps going and going. I cannot imagine the cordless stick I have lasting anything like as long - it's already feeling rickety and creaky after less than a year and I take good care of it. If you can afford it - Bagged corded vacuum for your main vacuum, cordless stick for a secondary run around.
Okay, I'm a Miele owner, and after having uprights, cordless and canisters, have found I preferred the canister bagged vacuum. Easier to keep the inside chambers of the vacuum clean, plus with Hepa filtration, the air can be cleaner. You just have to buy a box of bags every year or so plus a HEPA air filter. That said, a good sealed Hepa option from Miele is the Guard S1 Electro. Powered head for carpets and a bare floor tool for bare floors. The bag and the Hepa filter clean the air the best, and it will be quieter than your old Shark. I think they have a 5 yr warranty too. The Hepa filter needs to be replaced once a year at $50, but clean air is worth it. But I can't say for sure about your cat problem, I'm not a pet person, but it's going to be better than that Shark.
To the OP, you are doing great in your selection process, don't stress about it. Also, you don't need to spend all 1200 for this. Among the Sebo and MIele there is no wrong answer, as long as you get a motor driven brush roller head instead of a turbo or air driven one. You didn't mention which type of Miele your wife grew up with, they used to make a corded upright but don't anymore, just the canisters. I'm going to assume that you guys would be fine with a canister vacuum. Both brands make great canister models, I would suggest for Sebo the E3 series, and from MIele Guard S1 Electro. You want the Parquet bare floor tool as well, which the Guard S1 has. If you opt for Sebo, get whichever E3 has both the electric powered brush bar and the bare floor tool. The S1 Electro is currently on Amazon for $759. And the MIele C3 Marin is $1117. If you opt for Sebo, the E3 premium is $1150. The dealer should give you a discount if you ask, offer to buy a box of bags as well. These are all excellent quality vacuums. Hepa filtration. Very quiet operation. Long warranties, though I think the Sebo has the longer warranty. If you opt for used, just make sure you get either a Sebo either E or D series for larger homes, with electric power head and bare floor tool. For Miele, the C2 or C3 series with the power head and bare floor tool. Get one in good condition and you should get 10 years out of a lightly used model. Good luck! Edit: spelling
Da bei der Mama der alte Miele Staubsauger eingegangen ist, und ich umgezogen bin durfte ich mich in letzter Zeit ein paar Mal mit Staubsaugern beschäftigen. Akku Sauger klingt erstmal cool: Klein, leicht, kein Kabel, yay? Mutter bekam also einen Kärcher VC6 (\~350€).
Try the Miele. I've had one for years, the thing's a beast. No problem with dust, sand, metal screws that should've been put away, etc. [Costco has one at $200 off right now.](https://www.costco.ca/miele-guard-s1-compact-canister-vacuum.product.4000405419.html)
I love my Miele. Had it for over 10 years now. I have a dog and my own hair is quite long, my vacuum sucks it up from shag carpeting no problem. Here's some models specifically for pets: [https://hiarthur.com/?share=12d82de2-51ab-44e6-977d-68e7b05df285](https://hiarthur.com/?share=12d82de2-51ab-44e6-977d-68e7b05df285)
I can confirm that the new Guard S1 DOES have a premotor filter! The Guard S1 Electro also comes with a powered brush, which was a must-have for me.
