"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."
"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."
"pads that lift on carpet so you can run it while the baby naps"

"Suction wise I think it's even better than S9+. ... I think it's great. ... because I feel this cleans better than S9+. ... 705 I find does a better job of vacuuming carpets than even the beast that was S9+."
"did a fantastic job of vacuuming pet hair ... happily being busy getting up the pet hair ... I love this thing despite its flaws."
"and a Corgi and it's been an absolute beast"

"I like the bag. Our bagless vacuums always made a MESS cloud of dust when trying to empty them in the kitchen. I'd have to go outside, and it would still make a cloud all over me. This was easy, close the lid on the bag, lift it out, toss it in the trash, put a new one in. It holds more than I'd typically think, because unlike our bagless, the dirt all gets packed into the bag, it gets more dense. So it holds more than you would expect."
"We've neglected the hell out of it. It has 1555 hours on it with minimal maintenance. Ran it every night for 4 years or so. So I always thought these things were tanks. It still works"
"All the parts that will have tangled hair (like rollers, empty bin, rotating brushes, and wheels) are extremely easy to remove and clean, almost with no tools needed. I literally take only ten minutes to remove every dog hair inside the system."

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."
"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."
"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"I can't imagine having to change its bag after two or three homes! They'd have to be massive castles."
"The C3 has a complete sealed system which is better than C1 if you have issues with allergies."
"I actually don’t see bagless as a positive. They objectively release a lot of contaminant’s into the air when emptying. ... With a good bagged vacuum, the bag helps filter the air and the bags last a long time."

"horrifically expensive"
"price of replacement parts is a huge reason i recommend sebo vacuums. ... every time i have to look up a part for a miele vacuum i already know it ’s going to cost 3x-4x what it should."
"C3 Homecare (way more $$$ ... for a few hundred less"

"My Miele has an infuriatingly short power cord, and my house is quite small"
"The power cord situation gets annoying. ... We have an open floor plan and I can’t even clean between the kitchen and living room without switching plugs. ... It also doesn’t fully reach up our staircase."
"The cord is quite long though."

"the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared."
"the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs ... I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs"
"The other head without the spinner is fucking ridiculously strong. ... I cannot vacuum a rug with it because it sucks so hard. ... I have to hold one side down with my foot and pull away and it's still hard haha."

"I'll be damned if I'm going to drag that thing up and down three floors regularly."
"I’ve tried my families Miele canister when I lived with them and never got the hang of it. ... How do you manage the canister? We have a small space and based on my experience it seems like I would trip over it. Even when I tried it in a bigger place I still carried the canister around which was super annoying just to not trip on it ... The space is small enough that it has dead ends without enough space to turn around by pulling the canister. Is there a way that same concept can still be applied? We’re talking bedsides with only 1.5’ space, 4’ hallway with a litter box at the end, 5’ kitchen width with dead end."

"The Atacama desert ate up my new Brooks Cascadias in one week."
Prices in Europe are more reasonable for Miele, Sebo and the Henry. Miele S series, Sebo K series and Henry would be the models I'ld be looking at.
Used Miele S series are also really good value and reliable, plus repairs are super easy too.
I used to work at a local vac shop in Ottawa Ontario. We used to get a lot of refurbished V6s, V7s and V8s, mind you this was like 8 years ago. I got myself a V6 for upstairs ( It was like $180) and a V8 for the living room and that was about $230. i dont even know if Dyson still does the Refurbs, they still come with a one year warranty if i remember. After the one year warranty is up i would use the 3rd party batteries for the Dysons. Its cheaper and you can get 2 some times. I also got a refub Miele cannister and my wife can tell quickly if i vaccumed with the Miele instead of the Dysons. You need to have the power on high for the Dysons to suck as good as the canisters, but it kills the battery stupid quick.
I thought me with 2 Miele cannisters was weird but here we are
The miele cannisters have rubberized pieces where contact may occur, as well as on the tool head. I'm not sure the 5 vs 10 year warranty matters as far as these vacuums go. I know people have had issues, but it's unlikely. You don't have to spend 1k or more to get excellent performance from Miele and Sebo, and preowned isn't a bad option considering how long they last. Anecdotally I found a Sebo X4 Automatic for 10$, the cord was destroyed and it needed a brush roll. 65$ worth of parts, some cleaning, and this thing is rocking. So marketplace isn't an unreasonable place to find one.
I only use Miele. I use the bagged canister design for the whole house and for every mess. Even pet hair.
Everyone says Shark. I had many Shark vacuums. The filters suck. The canisters suck. The brush rolls suck. When they broke or died it was impossible to find anyone who was willing to repair them. I decided to switch to a bagged canister style vacuum. I started with a kenmore because I wasn’t sure I’d like the canister style and Kenmore vacuums are fairly inexpensive. I really liked it. Although it was super heavy. The bags are much cleaner and easier to deal with than the shark canisters. One bag lasts a week or more which means I’m not dumping the canister multiple times during one clean. Filters don’t get as dirty. The Kenmore died after a year but I was able to get it repaired for cheap enough (was a fuse or something). I saved up $ and bought a Miele bagged canister style vacuum and I love it so much. Superior suction. Superior filtration. Light weight. Will never go back to the crappy shark vacuums. I’m a Miele for life. And I can get it repaired or serviced at my local vacuum repair place. I probably spent as much on all the sharks I bought as I did on the Miele.
I thought the same thing, got a Miele and would never go back. Bags last way longer than you think, I look after dogs for a living so 10-15 dogs in the space per day, daily vacuuming, 1 bag every 2 1/2 months give or take. Don’t have to take the thing outside to empty it because of dust. It’s wonderful. Just my input.
I don't like the bags because they get really smelly in between cleanings. I have a dog and 3 cats andan the exhaust coming off the miele I have is rank lol. I always have to change out the bag before it's full because the smell is so bad. And yes the filter is good, and I take care of my machine. It's the nature of the beast when cat hair and dander is left to sit for so long in a vac bag. Something that doesn't happen in a canister vacuum. Pros and cons. 🤷
Miele canister or Riccaro upright. Bagged vacuum all the way.
