Miele S series bagged vacuums are one of the GOAT imo. Ours has lasted years and if you buy generic bags, upkeep is a minimum

Prices in Europe are more reasonable for Miele, Sebo and the Henry. Miele S series, Sebo K series and Henry would be the models I'ld be looking at.

Miele is consistently rated as the best among impartial, professional reviewers & can be bought for $300-$500 depending on the model They last a long time as well. Personally I use a Samsung Bespoke Jet, mostly for the convenience factor of having a dust station & no long cables to deal with. We also have an old Miele S series that does a good job after almost a decade (motor overheats a tad though).

Used Miele S series are also really good value and reliable, plus repairs are super easy too.

Mieles are FANTASTIC vacuums but work the BEST for hard floors! Im not sure they even have a powerhead option which is what you're going to want! You want to consider what comes with an air spun carpet attachment vs powerhead vacuum attachments since you have so much carpet! Powerhead will make your life a lot easier! Especially if there's a power pet/upholstery attachment for stairs etc. Basically the difference between the two means the vacuum uses actual electrical power to spin the carpet tool instead of using airflow to spin it - which can be difficult on certain heights of carpet or if your machine and filter aren't super clean Also- look for a bagged vacuum. I know these are becoming less popular but saves so much time on maintenance for your machine and will keep it working better longer! Also battery vacuums can be handy for awkward corners and stuff but I will always choose a corded vs battery vacuum.

i would recommend the miele vacuums, which have HEPA FILTERS and a speed dial to control the suction force. they are around $700, depending on the model but even the basic ones are great. we have had some for 10 years of intense use and they are still working perfectly fine. considering their usefulness and life span, they are totally worth it

It's the lift away one, was never very good. Years ago I have a 1200 watt meile thing that got stolen during a break in to a flat I rented.
