"Then again Miele/Sebo/Henry and really expensive in the US for some reason ... It's insane that Americans are paying upwards of $1000 on vacuum cleaners though ... I do love mine but it's straight up not worth that kind of money ... It's insane how much the same models of vacuums cost in the US compared to here in the UK"

r/VacuumCleaners • Best Overall Cordless Vacuum for Pet Hair? ->We went with this thank you! So far happy with it
r/VacuumCleaners • Help us choose a vacuum cleaner in the UK ->Depends on your budget really. My fave was an upright Orek, when that died after 10 years of cleaning up after five cats. I then got a Miele which again lasted a long time (about 12 or 13 years). Got rid of a Dyson after six months - useless! And still are... At the moment I am using a Henry Quick Pet combined with a Roomba I7. The robot does surprisingly well on our rugs and hard floors.
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I like Henry but Henry lacks suction speed control. For a plush delicate rug the gentlest cleaning is done with a combo brush, brisles retracted, and you can turn down the suction to the appropriate level. The Miele C1 Pure Suction and Sebo K2 Kombi are 2 canister vacuums that you should look at. Both have tools to clean baseboards and much more. The Miele C1 is a little lighter and quieter. The Sebo K2 is a little more durable and it has a longer cord.
r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum recommendations for wool rug? ->I haven't tried the new Bissell SpotClean C5, but I know the Bissell SpotClean HydroSteam is quieter than the older SpotClean Pro series. So I think it's reasonable that the Bissell SpotClean C5 is quieter than the old SpotClean Pet/ProHeat series. I have a Henry vacuum and they are very quiet. It's larger than the Bissell spot cleaners but the Numatic Geroge can do carpet cleaning and regular dry vacuuming and it should be a quieter machine. You could vacuum and then spot clean with the same machine with a George.
r/VacuumCleaners • Quiet(er) Portable Carpet/Spot Cleaners ->Samsung stopped making corded vacuums for some time so these are all older vacuums. The picture is of a suction-only vacuum, no carpet powerhead so it's best for hard floors. The cyclone and filter are above average for a bagless vacuum. But it's still a bagless vacuums so that means it's not good for allergies and it requires more maintenance. I wouldn't get a used Samsung bagless vacuum if this is going to be your primary vacuum. Don't buy it unless you're a collector. For regular daily use the Henry Hoover is so much better and brand new prices are pretty cheap if you're in the UK. If you have carpets get a Sebo with a carpet powerhead.
r/VacuumCleaners • Samsung Hoover - any reviews or experience? Looking for a new one any info appreciated ->All of the cheaper cordless vacuums have more battery and motor problems within a year. No matter the price or brand I recommend getting a cordless vacuum with replaceable batteries and replacement parts available. It looks like the Xiaomi G20 does not have a replaceable battery so I would avoid that. If you live in the U.K. I would take advantage of the amazing prices you have on Henrys. The Henry Quick Pet is on sale for £219 and a regular corded Henry is £129. Thoughts?
r/VacuumCleaners • Xiaomi G20 Lite opinions ->Henry quicks often go on sale for that price or below. The quick pet is currently £220 across most stores it seems. A consideration is that you will need bags (or pods in Henry quick language) but you didn't say a preference either way. You get 10 with the quick pet. If it's just the two of you in a small flat I'd say each pod will last 1.5-2 months. Otherwise it meets all your requirements.
r/VacuumCleaners • Help us choose a vacuum cleaner in the UK ->We've a Henry pet that does wonders for pet hair on the carpet areas and would definitely get another but the thing just goes and as others have said they hold up to abuse from kids aswell We got a 2nd hand Dyson cordless on cheap a few yrs back - it's grand for a daily clean up on wooden floors - I wouldn't recommend one though if u have pets as it barely does anything on the carpets and I wouldn't go near them at the prices in the shops though.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->We got the Henry Pet, it's class. We have 3 cats and a dog so it was well needed. Can't believe I love a hoover so much 😩
r/AskIreland • What is the best hoover you've ever owned? ->A Mighty Mite, a Henry Pet, or a Dyson stick, depending on the jobs. I’ll occasionally use a client vacuum but generally they’re not maintained well.
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for a new vacuum, price no object ->Henry Pet. Even if you don't have a pet.
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Green Henry - I think it’s the pet version, works like a charm and will take no end of abuse, however he behaves like a stroppy / drunken teenager - wobbling about and falling over at every opportunity.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->I like my Henry cordless. It's light and easy to move it about. I hate hoovering with a normal henry. It's too big and ignorant.
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->Since you have no "carpet" I would consider the less expensive non powered brush Sebo's too, or maybe a Henry. The canister style shines on maneuverability too, low places, around tables, chairs, etc.
r/VacuumCleaners • Trying to decide b/w canister and upright ->Lots to unpack there, gonna try to keep it short. Miele's have the (or one of the) most expensive bags/filters. If recurring costs are a consideration, look at Sebo and Lindhaus units too. Get the powered brush roller, then wait and see on extra accessories if you actually need them. Bags: Generally speaking a box a bags will last you \~ 1 year Any bagless machine is going to have lots of maintenance, or a very short lifespan... None of them are going to perform well on low/medium settings for carpet. In my limited experience with them, Dyson's don't clog the filters often, but the cyclones can get stinky (pet stink), and they are almost impossible to clean out (gotta disassemble, you'd better be very well versed in technical matters and have the right tools). After my Dyson experiences I would consider either the LG L9, or possibly the Henry Cordless, as it has bags. LG L9 has a removable cyclone assembly for easy cleaning; the Henry you should have minimal maintenance because it has bags. Unless you want to wash filters after every use, stay away from the 'budget' models. Personally I have a Dyson V7 (V8), and a V15. I would strongly suggest the V8 over the V15. Less/easier maintenance, and the V7 has never gotten stinky unlike the much newer V15. Performance wise I can't tell a difference, when in max mode. (the auto detect mode on V15 is admittedly nice) Battery life: Just don't expect you can use any cordless to really clean, quick pickups are where they shine. Performance wise, to come anywhere near close to a good corded unit you need to run it on 'max' mode, which generally equates to \~10min worth of use.
r/VacuumCleaners • Buying Advice Needed ->I own a cordless Henry and it’s doing super great so far
r/BuyItForLife • These are the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (based on 1,821 users, in the past year) wdyt? ->I’ve got the 15 with the laser, and agree it’s really there for convenience I can quickly grab it whilst I’m waiting for the coffee machine to heat up or the kettle to boil and give the living room / lounge a quick once over, etc It takes a bit of maintaining, so I’ve got a couple of filters so I can swap out when one needs washing, and you’ve gotta take it “apart” occasionally and clean out the canister and vents inside with a brush, but it works and has enough suction to do a decent job. I’ve got a good old Henry for the deep cleans, has way more suction but is much more heavy to carry around and means pulling out the cable and plugging it in
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I have the Henry. Love it
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->Henry or Miele for BIFL.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->Henry. Hands down and will be well under your budget for the standard one
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->Ours has put up with 8yrs of abuse and still going strong, as you say just change out the bags and he's as good as new. There's a reason almost every office/shop/hotel uses them
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->Vacuums. Hoover is a brand of vacuum cleaner. I'm a long-term user of a Dyson V7 for the quick jobs and a Henry for the larger areas.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->Went the othery. Had a shark, constantly had to clean it, replaced filters etc. Henry is a Joe in comparison.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->2nd this bought my first place and the one I bought in lidl burnt out in 3 weeks went with Henry as my mam swears by them and no hassle at all
r/AskIreland • Best vacuum cleaner under €200? ->Big fan of Henry over these, if you don’t need to do any shag carpet. Slightly cheaper, super simple to work with, compatible with many of the same high quality replaceable attachments, *and* comes with googly eyes! Even so, no vacuum is BIFL…you can, however, find several brands in the ~10yr and repairable category. This is not Shark, or even Dyson. IMO, Henry is the entry point into the 10yr and repairable market.
r/BuyItForLife • Please help me decide between shark vacuums that will last! ->Henry is an absolute workhorse. That’s the reason most hotels use them.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->Usually a Henry or miele and you can't go wrong with those immo
r/VacuumCleaners • Vac recommendations ->Same. The only one I would ever recommend. Had expensive Dysons and cheap non brands. All blew up or became useless. Henry is still a champ 10 years later, just changing bags now and then and off it goes.
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->Henry 4 lyfe. End of story. But from the POV of buying for life, how many of the other designs can boast that something like 40% of all their vacuums *ever built* are still in service?
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I think your Henry must be broken. I came from a shark to a Henry, the shark was an utter piece of shit.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Have a handheld shark with anti heair rap, more clunky & heavier than Dyson but far better suction & battery. Also have Henry for more serious debris as needed. We have no carpet. Look forward to the day when we can get a robot hoover friend
r/AskIreland • What is the best hoover you've ever owned? ->Henry. Probably the best Vacuum you will get. There is a reason they are used in stores and offices.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->change the bag, clean the pipe for blockages Mine is nearly 10 years old and still going as good as the day I got it.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->I thought my Dyson was shite till I took it apart and cleaned it properly, turns out there was a couple of blockages that you couldn’t quite see. We also have Henry, he’s an annoying fucker but bloody brilliant. Dyson cordless for the everyday stuff, Henry for the once a week major clean!
r/AskIreland • What is the best hoover you've ever owned? ->I used to think Henry was a good cleaner on carpets till I moved to a Dyson, the amount of dust that was taken out of the carpet with the Dyson AFTER the Henry had went over it was insane, before this I was whole heartedly a Henry advocate.
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->If my Henry couldn't extract the dust I thought it was removing from the carpet then yes, that would be the case.
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->You seem very condescending. As I pointed out - I had a Henry and always said nothing would be better than it, but I was severely wrong. I tested it when I got the new one and did a thorough clean of carpet in one bedroom and then used the V15 Detect with automatic suction and did the same pass, it was empty before use and returned half full of dust with the reading at 800 million microns on the dust screen, normal daily hoovering returns about 12 million now which is normal, even with use of a carpet cleaner like vax, but what was extracted shocked me. This was when I realised that Henry just wasn't doing what I thought it should have done. I understand that many people in this sub reddit have a thing against "plastic" stick vaccums, but I have to defend it this time around. Maybe not all of them are great but I paid 375 euro for this one which was heavily discounted. Who knows it may break in a shorter time than you'd get from other corded and bagged vaccums but I personally feel it cleans my house much better than the other two Henry's that I did have for over 15 years.
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->Can't believe anyone rates Shark, had one to replace a Dyson and it was rubbish, worse than the Dyson was. Anti-hair wrap just means 'wraps differently' in my experience. Piddling power, constantly needed cleaning/ detangling/ emptying and cost quite a bit. Bought a Henry as the HVAC engineers I work with use them, never looked back. Powerful, big capacity, long hoses and cables. Dirt cheap too.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->i had a henry, then upgraded to a shark, and I CANNOT believe i ever spent money on a henry. not even in the same league. henry was just gently ceressing the hair and dirt instead of sucking it up by comparison
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->i could literally do a video comparison because of how passionate i am about this (if i had time). Henry is now only used to suck air out of vacuum bags
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->hard disagree. I bought one thinking it has to be good because it's everywhere, and i cannot believe how poorly it performs.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->corded shark - absolutely phenomenal 10/10 cordless vax - fine? nothing heavy duty though Henry - a piece of shit. Had to buy like 4 replacement heads in the space of 2 years, and i just assumed carpets could never be totally clean. I upgraded to the shark and I could not believe the amount of dust and hair that it was able to suck up that i thought was just a permanent feature of the carpet now.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Henry is a great vacuum but it's clunky too and can be awkward to get around with so just keep that in mind. I love mine for cleaning the car but I can find it frustrating in the living room at the best of times.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->We have Dyson, Miele and Henry. Dyson cordless is the best for daily convenience but not so good for a deep clean and it's quite high maintenance with all the charging, emptying, filter washing, getting hair off the brushes etc. Miele is solid and the suction is bonkers but I wouldn't use it for building work etc as I want to keep it nice. Henry is the work horse for cleaning the log burner, mud, brick, sick. You can chuck anything at him but he falls over a lot.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Henry. Huge bags, wide nozzle so it rarely gets blocked, nothing fancy to go wrong - it either sucks or it doesn't!
r/UK_Pets • Pet vacuum cleaner recs?? ->Henry. Huge bags, wide tubes and nothing except the motor to go wrong
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Love my Henry. Huge bags which take months to fill, wide tubes that rarely get blocked and nothing fancy to go wrong. I have 3 dogs with long fur and killed vacuum cleaners regularly until Henry came into my life 🤣
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->Can’t believe I had to go all the way to #20 to find the dependable, REPAIRABLE Henry.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We have one made by HENRY in the UK but available here in Canada as well! Have had it for years and it’s awesome and hasn’t lost its suck ever! Easy to use (sorry it’s not a stick)
r/AskACanadian • Canadians, I need a vacuum recommendation. 😋 ->Corded vacuums will always perform better than cordless. Even the good cordless aren't as good as a fairly standard corded. I went from a £600 miele cordless to the cheapest corded Shark I could get and I'm far more impressed by the Shark. Shark's customer services are excellent and come with a 5 year warranty, and I've known them sort problems after that too. I've not known Henry's price change in sales (I worked at Currys for a few years). They're reliable and good but there's the ongoing cost of bags. The actual vacuum on a shark is the same across the models (for the same generation) - the differences are that the "pet" model comes with a motorised small head (for doing sofas, stairs, etc), and anti-hair wrap stops long hairs getting wrapped around the brush (but things like sweet wrappers will get stuck). The filters are washable, and you can get replacement filters from aliexpress for next to nothing. I know a lot of people here love henry, and it is a good vacuum, but I find it a bit cumbersome and prefer my shark.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->i've explored r/VacuumCleaners a lot for this exact reason and the bare minimum for carpet is the kenmore 400 canister vacuum. you might be able to get away with the kenmore bu4050 upright for low pile, but i can't guarantee you're ever going to actually get any carpet clean without the power head. if you can go a little further than the kenmore, i strongly recommend a henry!
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Id go with a Henry they are used all over because they are bloody good. I've got a Dyson v11 and it's perfect for my many cats one of which is extremely fluffy, they are usually fairly cheap from Amazon nas eBay refurbished.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->I have had two Sharks break recently. Just bought a Henry after searching for most durable easy to fix vacuum.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->This is 100% not accurate. Dysons are very poor performers and most don’t recommend them. That particular Kirby model 18 to 21 years old and can’t even buy it new anymore, and most people who like Kirby’s don’t even recommend them. Cordless vacuums are mediocre at best. This may be the most recommended vacuums among the general public, but for most aficionados, they know to stay away from the vast majority of these. There are a few good ones in there. The Mieles, the Henry, the Kirby is at least a reliable cleaner and a cheap option.
r/VacuumCleaners • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->In Canada James is $400. I would assume $300 in the US. Henry is more.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why Are Bagged Vacuums Making a Comeback? ->Try “Henry” or “James”. Both excellent, great suction, bullet-proof, small, lightweight and bags are reasonable. I was so tired of the POS Dyson build quality but these are just as good, and far and away better built. The bag ensures a couple of things: less dust going back into your environment and less dust getting into the motor. This helps with reliability and longer life.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why Are Bagged Vacuums Making a Comeback? ->I bought an extra one after 10 years cause I figured Henry needed a friend. They both still work fantastic, even with two big dogs and two cats.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Goedkoop is duurkoop. Doen hier de gehele woning met een Dyson v15. We hebben ook een zwaar uitgevoerde Henry en de Dyson is net zo goed zo niet beter.
r/zuinig • Goedkope koordloze (electrische) stofzuiger tips ->Over here in the Netherlands we have the Henry vacuums, super easy to repair and durable a.f.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (based on 1,821 users, in the past year) wdyt? ->That bastard can find trouble anywhere. Some chair leg or door gets in his face and he kicks off and ends up on his arse. Drunk manoeuvring aside, they're excellent vacuums. I keep finding them on the side of the road and they're normally fully functional or you can replace the whole motor for £25
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Dysons don't last. I went through 3 in 10 years and then got a Henry which is now 10 years old and will probably outlive me.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->The Miele, Henry, and Sebo vacs are the only ones worth a damn on this list. If you want a real BIFL vac and are willing to shell out, get a Lindhaus.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I have a golden retriever, hard floors and the shedding tumbleweed is quicker than I can hoover 😂 I have a robot vacuum that keeps the worst at bay and then a Henry for proper hoovering. The robot vacuum is a game changer because it’ll keep on top of the worst of it and can go on a constant wander
r/UK_Pets • Pet vacuum cleaner recs?? ->I find the Henry one useless but I also have COPD so I think the people saying it’s great might not have the same cleaning needs as us breathing challenged
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->After scouring this sub and r/vacuumcleaners, I ended up going with the Henry. Had it for a few years and it does its job, but it’s such a pain to lug around. Glad to see some cordless models made the list. Might consider getting one sometime since, although a cordless isn’t necessarily BIFL, I’d likely actually vacuum more with one. My floors may thank me lol
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->My Henry has been unalived down the stairs not once but twice by both my children and it's still going strong. Didn't even crack the plastic. It's not easy to find such a robust appliance in the days of planned obsolescence.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->Having burned through a couple of Dysons and a couple of shark, honestly you cannot beat a Henry. They are bullet proof if you do a lot of DIY. A Dyson would last us 2 years, first Shark died in a year and was replaced under warranty, then the new one died again, and we got a partial refund as not fit for purpose. Henry has been serving us well for 4 years now and is as good as new, and I make a LOT of dust. Edit to add: and Mrs S has been know to vacuum the patio when she can’t be arsed to get the brush out. So when I say bullet proof, I mean it almost literally.
r/DIYUK • Good vacuum for DIY dust ->Honestly I'd pay $400 for a Henry before I paid similar for any of the other flimsy nonsense that costs the same. Henry will outlast all of them and still be smiling.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->I use the henry to clean out the filters and drums as that is where most of the problems occur on cordless and bagless vacuum cleaners.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->If it's top heavy my answer is, you're using it wrong and probably PULLING the machine vs. the vacuum trailing you. Henry will tip if he's stuck on something and is pulled by the house. The poster above mentioning falling down the stairs - a Miele can't fall down the stairs? Be more careful...
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->Miele cyclone. Some friends had one and we looked after their house / dogs for a couple weeks. It is insanely good. I’ve had Henrys. They’re alright but they constantly fall over.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->Henry is the answer. That poor dude has seen so much abuse in my house renovation.
r/DIYUK • Good vacuum for DIY dust ->I’ve got a fifteen year old Miele vacuum that could suck up a black hole and a cordless Dyson stick thing that has been absolutely fine. The Dyson one is great for everyday cleaning after the kids and the Miele is dragged around every couple of weeks for a deep clean. I also have a Henry that I got after buying the house as I wanted something to deal with the DIY mess. It does the job and is pretty robust but the Miele is much better but also cost a lot more.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->There is only one brand of vacuum that will last your lifetime, it's a Henry and it's not even on the list. Crazy
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Id 100% get another Henry . They can be found for the £100 mark
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Henry. Always Henry.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I love my Henry and wish I would have purchased him years ago. I do recommend him but only to people who have no carpet and very very few rugs. Henry is amazing but he does not do great on carpeting.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->On a budget try a Henry Vacuum.
r/BuyItForLife • The BIFL Vacuum Market is Annoying Me: help! ->I bought a reconditioned Henry from eBay four years ago. It lives in my in unheated garage workshop where temperatures have ranged from +40 to -5°. I’ve used it to suck up everything from screws, dust, stones and damp soil. Whatever I feed my little guy he consumes with gusto. Why get anything else
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Same, never again, Henry vacuum from now on only.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Agree. It takes some amount of abuse and still does the job. I even took out the bag one time and used my Henry to vacuum a drenched footwell after driving car through a flood. It did a stellar job.
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->Dyson - we've had 2 or 3 handhelds. OK day to day for the hard floors and pretty good for carpets occasionally. Fills up quickly and does a better job than our cleaner's vac but eventually bits break. Normally just out of warranty and parts aren't available directly so I end up on ebay. I'm not convinced it's worth the price tag TBH Shark - I'll look at this next time for price point on handhelds Henry - we've had ours for about 15 years. He's done several renovations, sucked up all sorts of horrible stuff including garden waste. That thing is bullet proof and if it eve does go wrong, it's simple enough to fix Miele - I'm going to look at this next time as it gets some good reccos here Father in law likes his Vax
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->I have a Henry and love it. Works well on hard floors and carpet.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->Henry is the best
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->yeah i've had a look at the sebo and its just a bit more than i'm willing to spend. there is a sale on the sebo website for a green e3 for £449.52 so it is something. i've seen the miele c3 for £250 or the dog edition for £300 we had a henry but its gone kaput. we've got a dyson dc44 which we used for small spills but need something permanent. we've just had new carpets put in all through the house so the henry never really got used on the new carpets.
r/VacuumCleaners • Miele C3 - is the dog/cat hair attachment worth it? ->My mum has had the same Henry for over 2 decades now and it's survived 2 jack russells and many a time of accidentally getting shoved down the stairs!
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->Henry doesn't need bags , just empty into bin bag or bin, After the apocalypse it will be Henry that cleans up the mess Henry cleans where other vacuums fear to suck
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->You must have a dodgy one
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Henry goes were other vacuums fear to clean
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->We hoovered up wet cement with our Henry in a DIY project and he’s still going strong about 8 years later. We managed to get it second hand for about £40 - worth a quick scour of marketplace as clearly they are built to last! That said, our shark stick hoover is our go-to for daily light hoovering as it’s much lighter. But Henry has a special place in my heart, the brute!
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->We got a brand new Henry for about £90 when it was "reduced" at Argos. Best hoover ever.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->Henry Henry Henry. Bought one, never looked back.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->We have a shark and a Henry. We have far more issues with the shark gradually getting clogged with pet hair in one of the pipes but it’s relatively straightforward to completely dismantle if need to. Henry is absolutely a clunky bugger but he continues to reign supreme imo
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->I use a X4 and and a X7 and love them. I think they do just fine on hard floors only floors I don’t like is doing wood floors with them (which is why I have a Henry) so far durability is unmatched
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Vac for professional house cleaner? ->I switched from sharks to sebos and a Henry in my cleaning business and have found a huge difference
r/VacuumCleaners • Why Are Bagged Vacuums Making a Comeback? ->Tes,Henry is going on sale. I got mine on sale from Tesco. (£99) Henry are really good. I used it during my reno. I don’t like how bulky they are and a stick one is better for me (I have a Dyson) especially on the stairs. Another thing I don’t like about the Henry is that you need to buy filters. I used to live in Germany and there are some lovely vacuums (I had a Philips and a rowenta ine -there are some on Amazon uk) that are really good and they do not need a filters. Something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rowenta-Cyclonic-RO2913EA-Cleaner-Decibeles/dp/B083P9ZGRL Not sure if this is the exact model though.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->The C3 in the UK does not have a powered brushroll. Nor does the Henry and his cousins. They do have turbobrushes, which may or may not do a good enough job on your carpet. They do tend to tangle quite easily if you have long hair or pets The best BIFL option would be a Sebo Dart or Felix if you prefer uprights and/or lower cost. The K3 and E3 would be the better option for mixed flooring and if you like the canister format Bagged vacuums don't require that many bags. Probably 2-4 bags a year depending on the size of your apartment and cleaning requirements. They really compact the dust and feel like little firm pillows when totally full. This is unlike a bagless vacuum that fluffs up the dust in the dust compartment. Additionally, bagless vacuums have consumeables in the form of filters as well
r/VacuumCleaners • UK buying a vacuum cleaner ->A Henry or Numatic James would be a good choice as they're simple and rugged
r/VacuumCleaners • Need help picking a vacuum for a 2,000 sq ft community center (mostly tile)— Miele C1, C2, SEBO, Henry or something else? ->Honestly I think the perfect combo is to have a robot to do the regular work and then a Henry for the big jobs.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Get a Henry. It'll probably outlast you, tbh.
r/HousingUK • Vaccum cleaner for 2 bed flat ->I own a Henry after being disgusted with Dyson. It’s cumbersome to pull around, esp if your back bothers you, like mine. It’s power to clean is top notch.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->Agreed, Henrys are awesome! Super light, powerful, and dependable as gravity.
r/dogs • Recommend me a vacum cleaner. (not robot vacum please) ->A Henry costs about £120-£140, it is mains powered, never dies, very powerful and uses bags. Almost all builders use it, and for a reason.
r/VacuumCleaners • What’s the Best Affordable Vacuum That Actually Works? ->My Henry is smiling at my from across the room. Or he’s looking to get into trouble, it’s hard to tell sometimes.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I've got two Henry's and a George. The first Henry I got in 2000 and he's been used and abused daily. Fell down the stairs once (wasn't me). Repair is easy, so far a power switch, hose cuff kit, a neck cuff and a new 3 pin plug. Might need a new hose in the next few years point as it's starting to coil up. Parts are pennies from eBay.
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Sebo got the x4 pet and x7 upright every part is user replaceable, they last years.. 6 litre dust bag we use them in domestic care homes. Henry a simple vaccum sturdy enough but not good on deep pile carpets, plus if u forecful the hose comes off if henry is stuck around the corner. Dyson crap plastic useless.. Miele had the older revolution 5000 series cylinder wat a hoover you can use a powered head and it acts like a upright plus u can get the car kit set to use.. Mine lasted 15 years the powered switch failed miele wanted £150 ... ouch wasnt worth repairing it
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->You can pick up a henry closer to £100 from time to time if you wait for an offer. Direct Vacuums do refurbished henry/hetty for £100. I have had two henrys for over 15 years, one of which has been horribly abused on diy projects. They still work like the day I bought them, you just have to change the filter periodically. My mum has had dysons and has had to have them repaired several times (at almost the price of a henry) plus I don’t think the clean is as reliable. We got a cordless shark and it’s fucking useless except on the lightest of mess.
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed.
r/nederlands • Over welke stofzuiger ben jij tevreden? ->Henry. Just a motor and a pipe basically, turbo foot is great. Filter and bag easy to remove and clean/ replace. Motor brushes easy to change.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->I bought the Henry and I regret it. It’s heavy, the casters don’t track very well, the floor and carpet nozzles are cheap and generic and the design is very clunky.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Shark, Miele or if you are able to get one a Henry. Dyson have always been arguably better at marketing than manufacturing but in recent years their quality has worsened.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->We have both, all I can say is we still use both. *The henry was purchased in 1998* Also the hose on the henry splits and falls off if you use it to pull it around. Gaffa tape does wonders however.
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact?
->Don't have the meile but have the henry. Comments: \- Good suction. \- Breaky hose (I've replaced the end 3 or 4 times between my two henrys and the entire hose once) but easy to get parts (esp. if you can order from the UK). But other than the hose it's 'built to last". \- Not a fan of the electric cord take up system.... hate turning that little knob. Wish I had just got a james as it's less complex and I normally end up taking all of the cord out anyways. \- Very top heavy. Easy to tip over when it gets caught on something or roll down the stairs. \- Decent filtration. Love that large triflex pre-motor filter and the bag does a decent job. I use one of my henry's for fireplace ash and it never sets off the dirty air sensor on my air cleaner. (OTOH my sebo will set it off). \- Totally worth the UK price (I think I paid $170 usd) but I feel in the USA it's way over priced ($399?). \- Works great on hard floors with the wesselwerk RD285. A great upgrade to the stanard floor tool. \- pet pevee: I can't find the RD285 with a parking clip so stowing it is a mess with the wand/hose just laying all over the place.
r/VacuumCleaners • Henry Compact or Miele C1 Compact? ->\> and it works amazingly with the et-1 for bare floor usage. Wow. Not my experience at all. Are you using it with the brush roll on? Not an option for some floors so the brush roll justs gets in the way of the suction and the bulky head gets in the way of vacuuming edges. ET-1 is meh (2+ years experience) on hard floors. When I use it I feel 'm getting $200 vacuum performance out of a $600 vacuum. Big house with messy kids from teens to littles. Not just vacuuming up yesterday's dust. Throw some fruit loops on the floor and tell us how it does. With the parquet tool and the front brush removed its a hard floor monster. A real competitor to the Henry with wesselwerk RD285. I prefer the henry performance a bit more as I can lift and drag back over almost anything. Stuff big enough will snowplow on the parquet tool even with the front brush removed and lifting the heavy felix is a pita to get over stuff that won't fit. And noise? Easily the loudest vacuum I own (I have a lot of vacuums). At least it feels like it. Maybe it's the same as the henry just closer to my ears? Other peeves: Smells, generates a lot of heat and filtration fails the air cleaner test (henry passes it). (Air cleaner dirty air sensor turns angry red when using the felix) and of course won't stand up when using the parquet head. BTW reading this I had flashbacks to sebo USA marketing. They've contacted me directly to let me know the ET-1 is great on hard floors. I tell that to my hard floors all the time but they are just not listening.
r/VacuumCleaners • Sebo Felix Review ->Henry. Just get a Henry, they are the rugged, repairable, simple and reliable.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I'm team Henry. Honestly, the bags are fine, I actually prefer it to getting a face full of dust trying to empty out the canister of a Dyson! I love my Henry so much, that a Henry/Hetty quick is on my to-buy list. Plus, he's got a face, so it's nice to have someone to chat to while you're cleaning 🤣
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->A Henry Vacuum Buy once and enjoy a life time
r/Detailing • Best Car Vacuum To Buy Right Now? ->My old Henry makes it run for cover.
r/DIYUK • Are the Parkside wet & dry vacs from Lidl any good? ->Henry is the only vacuum worth buying.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->> I work in shops, and Dyson cordless vacuums are revered UK here but practically everyone uses Henry's in the cleaning industry and as shop vacs. They're nearly impossible to kill
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Henry can be quite awkward on stairs as it’s too big to balance, shark lift away fares out better on stairs but not most powerful of suction, using a Miele blizzard at the moment suction is great but a lot of plastic parts that break ..just check eBay selling the parts. I’ve a wee robovac for kids to use upstairs good for quick tidy up but doesn’t replace a corded vacuum. I’m still searching for the one 🤞ever hopeful
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->Yeah seriously OP, get it to a local repair shop. The Henry’s are old school and built to last, more often than not it will be repairable!
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->I’ve had a Henry for 18 years and it’s still going strong!
r/BuyItForLife • These are the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (based on 1,821 users, in the past year) wdyt? ->I've got three vacuums 😂 (all bought second hand!). I have a small dyson ball which is great for carpets, I have a miele pet which I use on wooden floors and tight corners etc and my poor henry is relegated to being the shed vacuum 🤣 Like I said all my vacuums were bought second hand, I think the most I paid was £20 for the miele and they all work perfectly.
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Had to scroll too far to see Henry. Best vacuum.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->You can’t beat a henry (I’ve tried nearly all makes and models) they are just solid, easy to repair long lasting and good suction
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->big fan of shark hoovers.. there is me and 3 daughters all long hair plus a gsd who glitters everywhere and a giant conti rabbit. i have the cordless for upstairs pet edition and the big old pet one (my new one.. kids ar enot allowed to touch it after breaking a part on upstairs one. >.<) for downstairs. i love them. vax used to blow up on me within a week cause hair would wrap and burn band. henry just doesnt suck well, and dysonw as outta my budget tbf.
r/Rabbits • (Europe) Best cordless vacuum cleaner for 4 rabbits? ->I have a Miele upright and HATE it for my home. Also had a canister that was beyond infuriating to use in the house. I have a Henry that I use for basement and to clean my cars. I don’t understand how anyone can tolerate a canister machine in the house. It’s like taking an overweight cat for a walk with the added bonus of cracking corner beads on walls. I actually just ordered a shark not 10 minutes ago to replace my Miele for home use. I’ll take it to work where it’ll probably do better. Miele designed the brush roll in a very poor way. We don’t have carpet, just a few runner and if you don’t constantly have the brush roll running hair will bind up in the belt drive system and start to strip out the belt. I’ve replaced countless belts, the entire housing and the motor when my kids didn’t realize what was going on with the god awful sound it was making. I contacted them about it and their solution? Take it apart and clean it after every use. Are you kidding me? That involves pulling the bottom plate off (6 torx screws of 2 sizes) unclipping a flimsy plastic latch on the belt housing that has about 10 uses before it breaks and if it’s bad enough unmounting the motor. That is in no way feasible to do daily or at times several times daily depending on how anal I get. I salvaged a Shark 2 years ago from the trash, pulled it apart and cleaned the heck out of it. And it’s used in the finished portion of our basement several times a week. It’s been great. I like the general quality of the Miele and the design of how the rotator head works is great. But gosh they missed the mark on overall design. To further take points off it’s very very very unfriendly for repair. People like to say the higher end machines are repairable. Ok… I guess. But when I’m shelling out nearly $100 on a replacement hose every 3 years in addition to belts, and brush rolls I can just buy a “disposable” one every few years and when it breaks I can usually hobble it by for another few. This is my 3rd Miele and probably my last to be honest. My first served me fairly well in a house with carpet until it took a fall down the steps when my wife lost grip on it (because let’s face it they aren’t light). The cost to fix it was going to be more than it cost new. And that was just in parts for me to do it. Rant over. Sorry. Just read this at the wrong (right?) time.
r/VacuumCleaners • Anyone not like their Miele? ->Henry gives a good suck for a reasonable price
r/AskUK • What should I be looking for when buying a new vacuum? ->Henry’s are excellent. There’s a reason cleaning contractors use them. Looking for a vacuum with bells and whistles is pointless, just more to go wrong. Two dogs and cats. One of the dogs sheds vacuum killing amounts of hair. I’ve replaced the filters and the hose in 12 years. He’s still going!
r/dogs • Recommend me a vacum cleaner. (not robot vacum please) ->Dyson are the ones of choice, however, I cannot betray my trusted HENRY hoover. It even has the right name!
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->Seconding Henry range - a no nonsense affordable hoover
r/dogs • Recommend me a vacum cleaner. (not robot vacum please) ->Get yourself a Henry hoover. Cute and will suck your dick clean off
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Agreed - i've noticed lots of hotels use Henry too. I have one myself (multiple shedding animals at home) and it makes cleaning a breeze. Highly recommend! It's also still made in UK too.
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->We have a large flat with hard floors and two kids under 3. Looking for a light and reliable cordless for under £300 (if such a thing exists!) I've spotted a Miele duoflex hx1 for £279, various Sharks (stratos/clean and empty/power detect), Vax (homepro), Bosch (unlimited 9 cordless) but I'm drowning in reviews! I already have a Henry hoover which is powerful but weighs a ton and not practical for daily use. Looking for something I can use every day for a minute or two to pick up crumbs, dust, dirt dragged in by the buggy etc
r/VacuumCleaners • Miele, Shark, Vax, Bosch? Looking for cordless under £300 ->A Henry should be at the top of your list, since it's affordable and manufactured in the UK. You can use variety of parquet brushes and the horsehair ones would be great for LVP. A miele or Sebo would be more expensive and would come with extra bells and whistles such as self retracting cords and better ergonomics, storage. If you need to clean rugs, you can find a turbo attachment. These options will last you 15+ years. If you want something cordless, Dyson fluffy rollers are good for quick pickups and won't hurt the flooring. The V8 absolute package includes a fluffy roller and goes on sale intermittently to be within your budget. Keep in mind while it might be a space saving option and convenient, cordless stick vacuums usually last a couple of years before big problems arise, hence why the main recommendation is for bagged, plug in vacuums.
r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum Recommendations: No beater bars for LVT Coretec floors ->I've never head of a vaccuum cleaner with no consumable parts such as disposable bags, unfortunately. I wish I had one, that'd be great! Well the tiny cordless ones don't have disposable bags - you just pour the dust out into the litter bin - but they have *nowhere near* enough suction power for a couch. Vaccuming a couch needs a lot of suction power. Most durable brands have good suction power. Numatic (the ones with the faces on them) have fantastic suction power, are very durable, and it's easy to buy replacement parts if something breaks. It's a British brand so probably available in India. They are expensive, but less expensive than other vaccuums that are equally good. Since Numatic is so easy to repair, a secondhand Numatic might be a good choice?
r/BuyItForLife • whats a cheap reliable vacuum cleaner? ->I have a Henry Hoover and it's grand.
r/AskIreland • Vacuum cleaner recommendations? ->Get the Henry hoover, it’s made by a British company and it’s the dogs bollocks. I’ve had one for over ten years. Bags last for ages unless you’re hoovering up sawdust or something. I bought a bunch years ago and haven’t been through them yet. Also get a cheap robot hoover with lidar, it’s fucking brilliant too
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->I love my Henry Hoover. It's powerful and efficient, plus all the parts are replaceable. It's also seen being used by F1 teams. He's just a happy little guy
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->I’ve had three Henry Hoovers in my life. And all three are still going strong, my original (18 years old) is used to vac up building debris, the second (12 years old) is used for my house, as it’s a filter one, and the third (brand new) is for my business premises. I’m under no illusion that these bastards will outlive me.
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->At work we use a Henry. Best vacuum cleaner we've had and actually has some suction power.
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->We have a Henry but I’m looking at Charles (his brother) so that I can properly wash my car seats by deep soaking them and sucking the water (and the dirt along with it) out, on top of the normal Henry duties Works great if you keep on top of replacing the filter bags - which are expensive but there are cheap replicas about that do the job. If you don’t refill it when you need to, he starts to really smell when using him.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->I would argue that no cordless vacuum will answer. Certainly not for 150 Swiss. Rabbit hair seems to jam the mechanisms like nothing else, especially if it has a rolling sweep function on the head. I would strongly reccomend a Henry Hoover. The A10 Warthog of the vacuum world. p.s the picture is hilarious!
r/Rabbits • (Europe) Best cordless vacuum cleaner for 4 rabbits? ->Get a Henry Hoover. Unbelievable suction power and super durable.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Henry is the best hoover, mine handled anything. Dirt, fur, plasterboard, nan's ashes, sawdust, you name it and he'll clean it.
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->You can't go wrong with the Henry's. They last 7 years until you use it on a building site then 2 years isn't very good going for for it
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Seconding Henry hoovers. They’re bulky and clunky but you’ll spend the £100approx once and not have to worry about them dying. In the time I’ve had my Henry I’ve gone through three hand held dysons and a handheld shark. Neither were worth the inflated money I paid for them, the Henry however is absolutely 10/10
r/UKFrugal • Decent, inexpensive vacuum cleaner needed. ->I had a Henry in the past and currently have a Shark. The henry was good but if you wanted to use the brushes on the head to lift up the carpet pile it can be quite hard work. It was also bulky and took up a lot of room in the under-stairs cupboard. The shark we have now is cordless and is decent and I enjoy using it. It has the head with the power-fins on it rather than a spinning brush. With this design I think it's better for hard floors rather than carpet. The fins don't do a good job of lifting the carpet pile. Without any weight keeping the head down, the head wobbles up and down if you drag the cleaner back against the direction of the pile.
r/AskUK • What should I be looking for when buying a new vacuum? ->I use a Henry hoover. They can handle a lot but still manage to get blocked at times
r/guineapigs • UK recommendation for vacuum cleaner that can handle piggy mess ->Travesty for Henry Hoover to be missing from this list. Truly indestructible BIFL
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Ah my bad, missed that!
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Henry is brilliant, just a great, robust, bagged hoover that cleans well and.lasts for years and years.
r/AskUK • What should I be looking for when buying a new vacuum? ->I'm the UK a Henry £119. I don't know how you guys are spending $499 on it.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Henry has much worse suction than a fancy top-of-the-range thing, but most people find them adequate. They last forever though and like the original land rovers can be fixed with very simple tools by almost anyone. All the Miele/Dyson/portable stuff we've ever had has been garbage; Henry just keeps on going. Bags cost me like £3 every 5 years or something. \+1 for Henry. The other option is to get a robot. There are whole subs for those things. If you have pets they're probably the best route - but they do require that you keep the floors cleared for them so they can run.
r/AskUK • What type of hoover should I get? ->Henry, the best hoover on the market for the money
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Over engineered and complicated, an absolute pig to work on as well. Miele for premium brand is much better or Numatic for budget (imo anyway)
r/nederlands • Over welke stofzuiger ben jij tevreden? ->Al sinds de vorige eeuw een Numatic en hij zuigt nog steeds de tapijttegels van de vloer als ik niet oplet.
r/nederlands • Over welke stofzuiger ben jij tevreden? ->Buy a Numatic, they are by far the best.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->You forgot it's about 100 times quieter... Shop Vacs are insanely loud. Numatics are one of the more quiet vacuums out there.
r/VacuumCleaners • Please don’t beat me up for asking this question, but why choose a Numatic over a shopvac? ->Numatic have a reputation for lasting decades. Also fully serviceable.
r/BuyItForLife • The BIFL Vacuum Market is Annoying Me: help! ->I would not add Johnny vac or Airstream to that list. Riccar currently they're only a decent product with the S10 . I would add Nilfisk, Numatic,VacuFlo,MD as good vacuums to that list. We all know about the troll that has been recently lurking. I suspect this post is a response to that.
r/VacuumCleaners • The reason brands like Sebo and Miele get recommended ->Numatic! Robuust en de zak gaat lang mee. Blijkbaar ook goed repareerbaar en niet zo fragiel als Dyson
r/nederlands • Over welke stofzuiger ben jij tevreden? ->Numatic is literally unkillable.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
