Henry's sister, Hetty (just a yellow Henry!). The bags are cheap, grab from supermarket, last ages, made in the UK, never have to clean filters, wash out tanks, pull hair out of clips and plastic, nozzles, parts, spares and accessories easy to find - it is fantastic. A bit more of a pain to use but worth it. I will never go back to bagless. It replaced an absolutely useless Dyson (yes I cleaned all the crap and maintenance, Hetty hasn't needed anything except a new bag occasionally!).

I love mine for a quick hoover. I get my Hetty corded one out for a thorough clean. But the Henry Quick is really good for a general clean. I think I can do my whole house on one charge. But I don't usually do that much at a time.

If you're going to buy from an English hoover manufacturer, go with Numatic and get a Hetty, Henry or Charles

Vacuum cleaners you mean? The Pneumatic range i.e Henry, Hetty etc. they just work. There's a reason builders use them

Sharper Image only exists as a label these days. Unfortunately all of the pink cordless vacuums are cheap cordless vacuums. With single cyclones they clog quickly, and their cheap fixed batteries usually fail around 1 year so the whole vacuum is useless when the battery breaks or wears down. Here are a few pink vacuums I recommend: Kenmore Intuition BU4050 is a small pink corded upright vacuum, it's actually one of the best budget uprights under $200. NaceCare Hetty HET160 is a great canister vacuum for hard floors and rugs. Not great for fully carpeted rooms. Here's a few secondary picks: Kenmore DU5092 Bagless Upright Vacuum is not normally a vacuum I recommend because the bagless system is pretty dirty but it is better than the no-name cordless vacuums. Same with the Shark HV371 Rocket Pro DLX corded stick vacuum, it's not normally a recommended vacuum but it is better than the Sharper Image vacuum. What do you think?

A bagged vacuum with Hepa bags or synthetic bags are usually better at filtering air than bagless vacuums. Bagless vacuums have more seals and detachable parts that can get dirty or warped. Most bagless vacuums have a foam filter and a small hepa filter. Most bagged vacuums have a large hepa/synthetic bag and a synthetic or hepa exhaust filter. Henry vacuums all have hepa bags and they are a certified steal in the U.K. The compact Henry and Hetty are currently £129. The Henry Allergy £159 and Henry Clean Air £199 use the hepa bags plus a hepa exhaust filter so they're even better for allergies. They're are also sorts of store specials and sales so check around. Thoughts?

Dyson handheld is great for small tasks especially after the battery died and I put on an adapter for my Dewalt power tool batteries, lasts a lot longer now! We have an corded Shark convertible upright for around the house but it’s awful in so many ways. Tries to do lots of things and does none of them very well. When it dies we’ll get a sebo or a miele. We have a hetty for any DIY stuff but we’d never use it around the house as it’s filthy!

It’s crazy how much more expensive Numatic machines are over there. They’re really quite cheap / offer excellent value for money in the UK. My mains powered Numatic vacuum was only £150. And the Henry Xtra cylinder machine has just been on offer for about £130.

Over engineered and complicated, an absolute pig to work on as well. Miele for premium brand is much better or Numatic for budget (imo anyway)

You forgot it's about 100 times quieter... Shop Vacs are insanely loud. Numatics are one of the more quiet vacuums out there.

r/VacuumCleaners • Please don’t beat me up for asking this question, but why choose a Numatic over a shopvac? ->

I would not add Johnny vac or Airstream to that list. Riccar currently they're only a decent product with the S10 . I would add Nilfisk, Numatic,VacuFlo,MD as good vacuums to that list. We all know about the troll that has been recently lurking. I suspect this post is a response to that.

Numatic! Robuust en de zak gaat lang mee. Blijkbaar ook goed repareerbaar en niet zo fragiel als Dyson
