Over the last 13yrs, I’ve owned FOUR Dyson Animals. I have several big dogs. My house is hardwood and new SHAG carpet in the bedrooms. (I know, I know…it came with the house!) I purchased a Shark last year, but you know what I keep coming back to? My 20yr old Oreck XL…No frills, no hose, but its a workhorse! I recently found a ‘nearly new’ Oreck Magnesium and you know what? EVERY ONE of those Dysons are going to the donate or FB Marketplace pile. Anyway…that’s my two cents. Good luck!

Oreck! Weighs 8 pounds and cleans pet hair amazingly.

> thinking I wanted a Dyson. > > The repair guy set me straight. From what I've seen of Dyson products in general, they sell replacement parts but you won't want to go through with the repairs because of the time and parts cost. > bagged is superior longterm IMO. Oreck Commercial upright traditional corded is the vacuum that impressed me most recently, after having been an Electrolux canister user for much of my life. We used to go out of our way to get the Electrolux bags, and I think that was the thing that people were trying to avoid at one point with the bagless -- getting locked into some particular bags.

I bought an Oreck Commercial on Amazon like 5 years ago and LOVE it. Best vacuum I've ever had. It is bagged, bagless have terrible suction after awhile. It only weighs about 7 lbs and picks up anything. I have dogs and cats and hair was an issue. The Oreck gets it all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The best sub-$300 vacuum is an Oreck Commercial model. Used all day every day in hotels, etc., lasts a lifetime, designed to be repaired, replacement parts available and cheap.

You are cleaning as a business, use a commercial vacuum. An Oreck Commercial vacuum. Best $180 vacuum in existence.

Bagged Oreck commercial quality for animal hair should be in the running.

Orecks are lightweight, have huge bags and pick up really well, but there are no attachments.

It's odd Oreck has never considered adding attachments. At one time, though, they were giving away a free little canister vac if you bought their upright.
