Sometimes older and proven is better, the Secor doesn't appear to use any particularly sophisticated technology as far as I can tell. The hybrid setup is interesting but the vacuum itself was built to be a bagged cleaner first, so the cyclone unit is a bit small and looks cumbersome to remove and empty. I'd 100% go for the Panasonic.

That's pretty interesting to make a bagged and bagless bin for the same vacuum. There are a lot of cons to the Sencor. The bag is a reusable dump out bag, these are extremely messy. Just imagine trying to shake all the dust out and what a big cloud of dust that will make. The reusable bags don't filter as highly as disposable cloth/fleece or hepa bags do. The bagless bin has a small capacity and the single cyclone design means the filter will get clogged faster and need more cleaning than a bagless vacuum with a multi-cyclonic design. The Panasonic is your traditional bagged canister vacuum but with the older 2000 watt motor. The older higher wattage motors are usually more powerful but the newer more efficient motors can be pretty powerful too. The only old tech on the Panansonic is an older less efficient motor. The Sencor SVC900 basic design is just as old as the Panasonic. Two reasons to avoid the Panasonic is the higher power consumption and it can generate more hot exhaust too. One reason to get the Panasonic is the bigger motor powers a turbo brush better. I'd avoid the Sencor SVC900, it's just too messy. But Sencor has a lot more bagged vacuums. If you are looking for a cheaper option to the Panasonic I'd look at the other Sencor vacuums. Also depending on your country there are other cheap options like Henry in U.K. and Bosch in Europe.

Reddit had a real thing for Miele because of that guy who did AMAs. I've owned Kirby, Electrolux, and Dyson, but my favorite and longest lasting vacuum has been a Panasonic canister vacuum. It's been flawless for over a decade now, plus you can buy 2 or 3 of them for the same price as some of these other guys.

I have a Panasonic canister. Neighbour has a Kenmore canister, Exact same vacuum save a few minor variances and name. They have been through a great deal as he also uses his in his garage. I had a Meile. Was not overly impressed with it.

Just don't by a stick one - useless. Get either an upright or a canister corded one - maximum real suction power. I have 2 canister corded vacuums, Kenmore and Panasonic, one for each floor level of our home. Work perfect for hardwood and carpeted.

I have a Kenmore canister and the Panasonic equivalent both for 25+ years running fine. Nothing has every broken so parts are no concern. Just replaced the filters every 10 years or when my brain reminds me :D.

i'm not sure why after using a dependable upright vacuum, you're leaning towards a robot vacuum? If you want 25+ years out of a vacuum, then the regular upright or canister is the way to go. You could just have the Hoover repaired if you can hunt down a shop and it'd be cheaper than buying a new "electronic" vacuum. Our home is 2 floors. I have a Kenmore and a Panasonic(same vacuum/different brand slapped on it) canister vacuum. The Kenmore is 36 years and the Panasonic is 25 years old. Both working without issue man handled by my two grown sons. Nothing broken, nothing cracked, just as shiny as when they first came out of the boxes. They just work.
