Unless the brushroll and belt on your sebo is lifetime - do one or both need replacing? Also if the sebo bag was 3/4 full - your not getting great suction. Rainbow salesman arrived and was frustrated as hell that he couldn't get ANYTHING out of my plush carpet (2 dogs and 2 cats indoors)! -At that time i had been using a well maintained 25 yo rainbow! Sort that as you like. Kirbys and royals clean carpet very well. Although i have never used a sebo yet i see the high favor here.
I have two GSD, females, 9 & 10 years old and I grew up with German Shepherds. I have a Royal, (Kirby), and a Rainbow water base vacuum. Rainbow is expensive, but will last 30 years, no joke. My mother had one for 36 years. After 36 years, my dad took it over and used it in his garage. I bought a used Rainbow from E-Bay 17 years ago. It works great on dog hair. Great suction! Good luck.
If you're truly serious about your cleaning, there's only one hoover that I know of that catches most of the dust and it's the water based Rainbow hoover. It's not very much talked about given the very high price point but it's the best purchase ever. We've had it for around 15 years now with weekly use.
Rainbow is a good but bulky (and pricey) vacuum. It has a carpet shampooer and a smaller vacuum head attachment (for chairs n smaller things) you can purchase. Also doubles as an air purifier.
I'm a vacuum enthusiast and refurbished two Rainbows. I can confirm that filling the basin with water, emptying it mid-vacuum and then cleaning the basin and water separator after each use is a pain. I prefer to grab my Sebo and get the job done without any hassles (changing a bag is not a hassle). The E3 is the sweet spot in the Sebo canister lineup, its portable enough to carry upstairs and if your stairs are carpeted it will tackle that job too. I recommend the handheld turbo brush for upholstery and carpeted stairs and an upgraded bare floor tool like the premium parquet or the turn and clean style parquet brush.
Once upon a time I had a Rainbow! It was AMAZING! However, at $1.1k only if I would only buy one again with an FSA/HSA card and pay in 24 months at 0% APR in a sales tax free state.
Rainbow! Based on your comment, you cannot go wrong with a Rainbow. It uses water as your filter but it 100% removes the dirt. It’s easy to use! I will say, it’s an investment, so well above your $500 - however it comes with a 10 year 100% warranty coverage and an additional 10 year labor repair coverage. It’ll be the last vacuum you buy - but it will remove the dirt from your home instead of pushing, blowing and spreading the dirt around. It is an air purifier as well 24/7 with numerous attachments for everything in your home. You won’t be disappointed with a Rainbow if you actually want to remove the dirt from your home.
Kenmore canisters for carpet are very good. For hard floors, they’re awful. Obsolete. Deal breakers. Etc. Why not buy a refurbished Miele or Sebo, or if you have wall to wall carpet in most of your home and rarely use attachments, definitely go for a Kirby, or a Rainbow if you have a mix. Goodvac dot com for Kirby parts, Rainvac dot com for Rainbow parts. Miele parts and Sebo parts are easily accessible. Hyla parts are not, in contrast, but they too last a long time. I think they’re easier to use than the Rainbow but they don’t clean carpet very well at all. Kirby is about the best you can get for carpet.
Im aware this spunds like a shameless product plug..the rainbow vac is pretty awesome. My mom bought one years ago and I manufactured excuses to borrow it. If any vacuum experts could point me to a comprable machine with a fraction of the price im all ears.
Rainbow! I've had mine for 28 years. I've never had any problems, ever! Well worth the money
Yes! I wear gloves, pour the water through a strainer into the toilet, and then empty the strainer into the garbage, then wipe out the canister. It's a process, but im used to it now.
Yuh, they are expensive, but if you're buying a new vacuum (that blows stuff back in the room that you just cleaned) every 4-5 years, it just might be worth the investment. You have to weigh it out. Just make sure you know that you have to dump the water right after every use. There's nothing like this vacuum, in my opinion. I should get paid for this advertisement 😂. One time, a neighbor wanted to borrow my rainbow because she was have people over for dinner! I said no, just buy your own 😆
