These are Riccar’s midsize Made-in-China canisters from the late 2000’s-mid 2010’s, sister model to the Simplicity Verve. Roughly comparable to something like a Miele S500/S5000 canister. Build quality’s a step down from a Miele/SEBO, but they perform well and have a decent feature set. I’m not too sure if I’d recommend this machine at this price though, since it’s probably nearing the end of its life. If anything were to go wrong with it, it likely wouldn’t be worth the cost to repair either. I’d probably see if you could take them down to around $50-75. Again, it’s an objectively decent vacuum, just not one you’d want to sink too much money into.
I have a high-end Riccar canister vac. Hate it! It’s powerful and effective. It’s also like dragging a boulder around! Unruly.
Yeah, when I moved to another state last year I left the $80 upright with my roommate because she has carpet and my new house doesn’t. And that meant I could justify buying a new Riccar canister. They’re both quiet and lightweight, easy to maneuver. And yes, the new canister was $$$.
We have a Riccar, which we got from the local vacuum shop. It’s a bagged model and it plugs in, but it’s fantastic. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. It was between Riccar and Miele for us, and we preferred the Riccar. We also have a Shark stick that we use for spot cleaning. It’s definitely not as good.
See a local dealer. If they are too far, check Riccar on the web then hit me back. Riccar is best by far. BAGGED ONLY.
No cordless, no bag less. Riccar makes the best. All with warranty over a year. Great quality. Last forever plus decades.
Riccar? That’s in my top 3.
Real vacuum dealerships will not sell Dyson any longer. Many other traditional brands either because those companies have decided to produce in Asia and change designs super fast. It is the OPPOSITE of sustainability, it is planned obsolescence at an incredible level. Vacs should not be bought online and a big box stores, these machines do not clean carpet/air, are designed to fail, can’t be serviced and are literal fire hazards. Man the stories I can tell you about “brand new” machines. Most were manufactured years before they reached the consumer. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Dealerships sell quality machines, built to last, serviceable, at great competitive prices, with warranties that do not cost extra. You can’t find service like that anywhere! Find a dealer and buy Riccar or Sebo.
Never consider Shark. Bagged is best. Riccar is top of the line if you’re willing to spend. See a local dealer.
I speak from experience. I experience many vacs daily. Bagless all leak. The brush rolls are weak at best. Shark puts out models with no or very little support. The bagless vacs are designed to be replaced in 5 years. Bagged especially Riccar and Sebo are designed to last 20 years and create a MUCH cleaner space than any bagless. Shark and all bagless can afford advertising and reviews because it costs nothing to make the trash they sell. See a local dealer, learn what it takes to be a real vacuum.
Riccar. Boo to all canisters because they are clunky… cord, canister, hose. Ugh!
Oh man i use a riccar for one of my buildings but the thing's been broken for 3 weeks now 😭
Riccar for carpet, Dyson V8 for the rest of life. Guaranteed.
Riccar or Miele. I've had both, currently have a Miele, and once you step into this range of vacuums you typically won't be satisfied with lower end models abilities. Amazing suction, independently powered brush heads, multi-stage HEPA filtration, etc. Not sure what model the other user that had Miele had, but mine is super well built, but that's expected when spending $1200+ on a vacuum.
I have a Riccar and also got the stick vac on Black Friday. Went with the self empty model and the way that thing is just easy to use has me grabbing it more often than not.
