I have been destroying Dyson vacuums with all the fur for years. Recently learned there is an entire tier of vacuums above Dyson. We use a Sebo corded, bagged vacuum for deep cleans, but use a Riccar cordless, bagged for everyday. https://www.riccar.com/clean-air-cordless-power-upright-vacuum I also (because I’m a nerd) have a Miele cordless, but the canister is a little small and I have to empty it a lot. That’s why we also have the Riccar https://www.mieleusa.com/product/11826970/cordless-stick-vacuum-cleaner-triflex-hx1-facelift-lotus-white
Oh and the Riccar is heavier than the Miele. But I carry them both up and down the stairs no issues
lol Well good luck finding a cordless upright with a hose. Ricarr did come out with one but it’s junk. If you do find one please let me know :)
Riccar has 2 different bagged cordless vacuums. R10cv and the R27cv (which also has a very nice hose in board)
Many corded vacuums have headlights on their carpet powerheads but most do not have headlights on the hard floor/parquet brushes. The plush carpet needs a vacuum with physical carpet height adjustment and suction control helps too. I highly recommend trying these vacuums in person to see if they meet your needs. Miele C3 Marin has headlights on the SEB236 powerhead. It's a very good vacuum for carpets and hard floors and it's very quiet. Downsides are the standard tools are small so they fit in a compartment and the bags can leak if you don't reseat them every time you open the bag door. Riccar has several upright vacuums with headlights. The Riccar R25 Deluxe, R25 Premium Pet, R27 Deluxe, R27 Premium Pet have headlights, the Premium Pet models add dirt sensor lights that turn on when it detects dirt. The Tandem Air Upright Deluxe and Premium Pet also have headlights and dirt sensor lights on the Premium Pet. Riccar makes complicated vacuums that perform well but they are not as durable/reliable as Miele or Sebo. Prolux QX90 canister vacuum has headlights on its carpet powerhead. Prolux is not as expensive as Miele and Sebo but they are a step down in quality and reliability. I think they are still better than Kenmore canister vacuums and the many budget vacuums. There are also stick on led lights that you can attach to any vacuum that does not have headlights. While I like headlights that work on all surfaces, I would rather choose the vacuum that best meets my needs and I like overall the best. What do you think?
The Sebo Dart is a great vacuum for carpets and the brushroll is removable without any tools to make removing hair wrap easier and faster. The suction is very strong and it's quieter than the average vacuum, but not as quiet as the best canisters. Just about any corded vacuum will clean carpets better than a cordless vacuum. The downsides of the Dart & Felix are they are top heavy, they have a short hose, and they don't include an extension wand. Alternatives all have tradeoffs. The Kenmore Elite upright is much cheaper usually around $250-300, it has great suction and carpet cleaning, but it's heavy and you need a screwdriver to remove the brushroll. The Kenmore isn't as well-built, and it won't last as long. The Riccar R25 and R27 are good upright vacuums too, the R25 Standard and R25 Deluxe can be $449 & $499. The Riccar R25 has a long hose and good suction, but it isn't as well-built or as easy to maintain as a Sebo Dart. I think the Sebo Dart is the best balance of durability with a few tradeoffs of a few less features.
If you have the money the Riccar Supralite is goated. In fact before VacuumWars became a sell out it was his best rated upright cordless vacuum. Now obviously the cost of the cordless Riccar Supralite is absurd so in this case Dyson or Shark are fine. Cordless vacuums are limited by their battery so they all kinda suck (pun not intended).
For the most part yes. In my opinion the only two decent cordless vacs are the Miele Triflex and the Riccar one (can’t remember name). Even then, I would recommend a corded canister or even corded upright before I’d recommend a stick vac. In my experience most stick vacs are not made to last longer than a year or maybe two. Just by nature of having a battery they are disposable, and they tend to be cheaply made. You also don’t get the benefits of a bag
I bought the cordless Riccar and I really like it!
It suits my needs just fine. I won’t buy a canister, and I don’t have much carpet. I tried a lot of vacuums at the local shop, and this was my favorite.
The only other option besides the cordless Riccar is a Cordless Henry. But I believe they are discontinued. Def. Worth it if you can find one though.
Riccar cordless for quick touch ups. Miele is the best of all for doing a thorough job.
I don't have the turbo or the Intuition. I have a Riccar upright and then I bought the BC4030 canister. You might send a message to Kenmore to see if the canister attachment works on the Intuition, but I'm betting it doesn't.
