Riccar r10 s and special baseplate they make, 9 lbs like your oreck
They are ok , nice light vac, my wife had one when we met, now she has me bring home riccar lightweight, super power, I see a ton in my store now since the old Oreck stores went bankrupt
yes I use riccar lightweights at home
Loved those, I sold a ton of Riccar lightweight vacs and could toss one in as a closer on the sale when the no tools question came up
Riccar r10s super light easy to push.. find a local dealer and take one for a spin.. happy shopping
Riccar R10S cannot be beat on carpet or bare floor. See a local dealer
1. Bagged. Bagless is the worst. ( many reasons) 2. Shop local, go to a dealer. Get educated. See what real durable, reliable machines are all about. Leave price out of the equation. Tell them you are there to be educated. 3. If you compare what you learn to what is out there, you will go back especially if your local dealer Carrie’s the Riccar R10S. This vac will clean your house like it has never been. IMO the R10S is the best vac on the market.
You are correct about the lack of quality and reliability in Dyson today. The Riccar 10S or the R25 series will exceed your expectations at a great price. Se local dealer.
Riccar? That’s in my top 3.
Never consider Shark. Bagged is best. Riccar is top of the line if you’re willing to spend. See a local dealer.
I speak from experience. I experience many vacs daily. Bagless all leak. The brush rolls are weak at best. Shark puts out models with no or very little support. The bagless vacs are designed to be replaced in 5 years. Bagged especially Riccar and Sebo are designed to last 20 years and create a MUCH cleaner space than any bagless. Shark and all bagless can afford advertising and reviews because it costs nothing to make the trash they sell. See a local dealer, learn what it takes to be a real vacuum.
1. Corded. 2. Bagged. 3. Riccar or Simplicity. See a local dealer after research on the web For your floors R27D
Hmmm if you want professional opinion, ….. 1. Corded 2. Bagged 3. Riccar 4. See a local dealer BIFL vacuums only. Quit filling landfills with bagless garbage.
1. Corded 2. Bagged 3. Not finding quality for $250. You get what you pay for. Riccar is the best.
I have 2 white labs. Gray flooring. I have white tumble hairs constantly. I bought a shark cordless for daily sweeping. I have a Ricar regular vacuum l use once a week because those bags are expensive. Don’t ever buy a sweeper that has a disposable bag especially if you have pets. I have white leather l can just wipe down or blow the hair off. Sweeping is a never ending battle with pets. You have a few. Comes with the territory. I can sweep and turn around and l see hair again. Sweeping daily possibly twice a day if you really want to stay on top of it.
In my opinion, a bagged vacuum is necessary if you’re taking it to different houses. I really like the Riccar Supralite for carpets. For hard floors, edges and upholstery I use the Hoover portapower. I find the sharks difficult to work with, they fall over when using the attachments, they’re impossible to get clean between houses and harbor odors.
Sounds like most of your surfaces are hardwood vs carpet. If the carpet is low pile, you might be able to get a suction-only machine with a turbo floor tool. I recommend limiting your search to bagged models, none of the bagless models will provide the HEPA filtration you need. Are you in or near a city that has a vacuum dealer? If yes, they will assess your needs and work with you (discounts, demonstrations, etc.), its possible to get an entry level upright or canister in your budget and HEPA needs (Riccar Superlite, Miele C1). Most dealers have used models they refurbished at deep discounts from new/MSRP and have HEPA technology. Riccar, Filter Queen, Rainbow, Kirby, Sebo, Miele U1 and many others will meet your budget as a refurbished option.
Big fan of the riccar supralite. I’ll take that and an old school elctrolux any day.
My Shark Navigator has been running without any issues since 2013. I do have a Riccar Supralite that is fantastic for the rugs but since it has no attachments the Shark has stuck around to help me get the nooks and crannies. Only complaint about the Shark is that it’s top heavy so you have to be mindful when using the tools or it’ll tip over. The only vacuum I’ve owned that was a disappointment was an LG cord zero. It worked ok for what it was until it didn’t, no replacement parts meant I had to junk the whole thing. Did anyone step up their game in the cordless stick vac department? I see Riccar offers one I am interested in.
