We run the rigid shop vacuum with a dust deputy containment setup. All the dust collects into a separate container that we have to empty leaving the vacuum clean only having to change the bag every few weeks.
Attached the dust deputy to 55 gallon barrel for the big machine and also have them attached to 10 gallon barrel for edging and smaller jobs. 1.5 in vacuum hose to the machines. Worth the investment
Go to the pawn shop and get a construction vac (wet/dry vacuum). Never have to worry about suction, never have to worry about the mess to be picked up, bag or canister, works on any surface. Usually it'll be a Home Depot Rigid, so attachments and bags will be easy to find. And if you're really lazy, you can go a year or more without emptying. Like you might need to change the filter first. Oh! And it uses HEPA filters.
My m18 Fuel vacuum is my new favorite tool. Homeowners always appreciate a clean work site and this thing makes it insanely easy. It’s compact, has good battery life, and stores the attachments inside. Plus I have the pack out gear so it clips right on. I use a big ass corded rigid vac for the really messy stuff though.
This is my exact loadout. It’s the perfect combo
I use rigid corded for dry since I can find parts and accessories locally without having to order and have a corded Dewalt for wet. Haven’t had issues from either and both have great suction. Also have a battery makita handheld vacuum for smaller spots and when it’s a small cleanup and I don’t want to have to get everything else drug out. It works great but imagine there’s a better one for the price. I just happened to already have the batteries.
Not OP but Ridgid brand is generally a good balance of price and sucking power if you get one with a cord. I wouldn't try vacuuming a whole carpeted house with one, but otherwise they do suck real good lol
In my experience if you’re going corded, Rigid are probably the best shop vacs I’ve seen. I have a couple of the corded/cordless combo Dewalt vacs that are really handy for small stuff on the move but if you want a bit more power go Rigid
I have the Ridgid and its good
