Ridgid 14 Gal. 6.0 Peak HP NXT Shop Vacuum Wet Dry Vac with Fine Dust Filter, Hose, Accessories and Car Cleaning Kit HD1401. It's on a Black Friday sale right now at Home Depot, $109. The thing is a monster and will take anything you throw at it. I'm not sure why, but while contractors use a variety of tool brands, every single one of them seems to use a Ridgid shop vac. They are tough, have lots of accessories, and readily available at Home Depot.

I have a rigid shop vac with the car accessory kit. Works great. But I really want a big boi suckr pro+, never in stock. Battery units just don’t work as well as electric. They are ok but they lack real suction. I have a Milwaukee fuel 18v pack out shop vac, it is ok. Not as good as the rigid. If I need to do a job faster, the rigid. If I need to get deep, the rigid. If I want to pick up loose dirt, the Milwaukee.

I don’t think so. You don’t have to get a 14-16 gallon one. This will do. They do go on sale sometimes you can get really good deals. But the small one doesn’t get much lower than here (maybe 10 bux). https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-4-Gal-5-0-Peak-HP-Portable-Shop-Vacuum-Wet-Dry-Vac-with-Fine-Dust-Filter-Accessories-and-Car-Cleaning-Kit-WD4070C-WD4070C/308058433 This is what I have. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-14-Gal-6-0-Peak-HP-NXT-Shop-Vacuum-Wet-Dry-Vac-with-Fine-Dust-Filter-Hose-Accessories-and-Car-Cleaning-Kit-HD1401-HD1401/308343494

The Rigid ones are great. I have the 16 gallon one and it’s mean as hell. [(this one)](https://www.homedepot.com/pep/RIDGID-14-Gal-6-0-Peak-HP-NXT-Shop-Vacuum-Wet-Dry-Vac-with-Fine-Dust-Filter-Hose-Accessories-and-Car-Cleaning-Kit-HD1401-HD1401/308343494) I occasionally use it on the whole house and prefer it over a normal vacuum for things like vacuuming the couch. It’s more powerful and you can get a bajillion different crevice tool attachments for it on Amazon for really cheap. I also got a 20 foot hose, which is really handy. I agree with the comments above. Get a HEPA filter for it and also get bags. Use the bags and filter at the same time so the filter lasts longer.

Go to the pawn shop and get a construction vac (wet/dry vacuum). Never have to worry about suction, never have to worry about the mess to be picked up, bag or canister, works on any surface. Usually it'll be a Home Depot Rigid, so attachments and bags will be easy to find. And if you're really lazy, you can go a year or more without emptying. Like you might need to change the filter first. Oh! And it uses HEPA filters.

Miele. But if I had the room for it, I’d love to have a vintage Electrolux or a Hoover just for show. Edit: of course a RIGiD NXT shop vac as well. This is one case where the Home Depot house brand gets really good reviews. I also a VersaMatic left over from a previous place, which I don’t use. Not sure if they’re still made? Or maybe no longer imported into US? They’re great if you have wall-to-wall carpeting, which I don’t anymore. It’s a “hotel vacuum”. A skinny upright that can slide under furniture.

My m18 Fuel vacuum is my new favorite tool. Homeowners always appreciate a clean work site and this thing makes it insanely easy. It’s compact, has good battery life, and stores the attachments inside. Plus I have the pack out gear so it clips right on. I use a big ass corded rigid vac for the really messy stuff though.
