I've got 18V batteries for my tools so I bought a Ryobi RV1811-0 wet/dry toolbox vacuum for pretty cheap. Use an adapter so my dewalt batteries fit. Works perfectly well for vacuuming up the car and can use it to suck up the water if I'm cleaning fabrics.
Do you have power tools with cordless batteries? I use a cordless [Ryobi wet/dry vac](https://uk.ryobitools.eu/cleaning-tools/cordless-vacuums/cordless-wet-dry-vacuums/rv1811/rv1811-0/) with an adapter for my DeWalt batteries. Car isn't always parked outside the house so pain in the arse using a corded vacuum, works well enough for me.
Until last year we had the classic Sanitaire. Then the motor burnt out on all of them because nobody can take care of them. They replaced them with shitty little battery powered Ryobi ones definitely NOT made for commercial use. Surprise, mine already had a wheel fall off this week 😒
I have the ryobi. It’s a game changer.
I had the first one. I could not stand it. Likely my least favorite dewalt purchase ever. Their vacuum offerings have always been lame. I have a ryobi shop vac and a ryobi to dewalt battery adapter. It's way better than dewalt
We’ve got a Ryobi shop vac. We only use it occasionally but it would be great in a place like a restaurant with wet spills and glass that must be lifted by the vac.
Love ours. Even upgraded to the whisper series. It’s nothing special in terms of a cordless vac, nothing to complain about either. What sets it apart is the fact that I have a dozen batteries ready to rock at any time.
Eh, it’s definitely quieter which is a plus for dogs or napping kids, but it’s not like I notice a major difference in power or anything. I’m no vacuum expert. We were happy with the original, but when part of our original broke, after some back and forth with Ryobi, they sent us the whisper model in its entirety, rather than just replace the broken part from our original, which we would have been happy with. So is it worth the upgrade? Probably not, to the average Joe like me, but it’s been nice for the QoL upgrades they made. Hope that helps!
I use a roomba on wood floors if doing the whole floor (best to tidy a little first - cords, pet toys, etc can get stuck - then leave for an errand because it’s pretty loud…but does do a good job and can go around most furniture, no need to get everything up off the floor) For smaller jobs and the stairs: Ryobi One+ has served me well for years whereas a couple others (shark cyclone and I forget the other one) died within about one year. Ryobi One+ has the better rechargeable battery, longer form factor means less bending over, and the “headlight” is actually super helpful and really shows you just how dirty that corner you’re vacuuming is. Also for furniture, Ryobi does ok with the roller attachment but I find nothing is as quick and effective as a lightly dampened sponge. That’s how I do wood floors and furniture - Hope it is helpful!
I have a Ryobi 18v vacuum and I’ve been liking it so far
The Ryobi is the best 18/20V vacuum on that list, though. The Samsung and Tineco *might* work with an adapter (they're 21.6/24V, so FLEX and Kobalt batteries would work), but the Dyson, LG, and Shark are 25.2/28V and likely would barely run at all with Ridgid 18/20V batteries. Also, the Ryobi is $100. The cheapest vacuum that beat it in Project Farm's video is the $300 LG. That's more than "a little more", it's triple the price.
I think that's the same one I have. I use it with DeWalt batteries and an adapter. Works as well as any vacuum I've used, better than most, plus it's small enough to be stored with all of its accessories in a toolbox.
I have the Ryobi 18 volt from Home Depot. They always have their batteries on sale too. I like it because I have about 10 tools that use the same batteries.
