IDK how different the stick vacs are from their other vacs, but I have been very happy with the 18v 6 gallon shop vac PCL735K, as well as the 18v hand vac PCL704B. Great suction, no issues. 6+ months of weekly use, often several days in the same week. Regularly emptying and cleaning the filters and appropriate other parts goes a long ways towards keeping vacuums like new, and these are no exception. Also helped me to know going in– vacuums in general eat batteries notably faster than many other tools. Something to consider if you don't already have a few batteries that at least 4ah. (The hand vac will run nicely for spot jobs like the car if I'm using an HP 2ah; for the shop vac I prefer my 8ah's and 6ah's if I'm going to run it for 10+ min straight. But the 4ah's will do for smaller cleanups).

I haven't tried most of these so I can't compare/contrast, but my ryobi dust buster with the + bigger battery is a beast. Super suction, easy to find & replace filters, has lasted for 10 years now, no complaints at all. It's way more powerful than the average dust buster and I could imagine it easily powering a stick vac. ultimately it also comes down to which tools/batteries you already own. I have a bunch of ryobi tools so it was an easy pick. My cordless drill, my air compressor for inflating tires, my leaf blower sweeper thing, etc all take the same battery.

I went with a Ryobi because I have a lot of Ryobi tools so I also have a lot of Ryobi batteries. I scored a machine on clearance for $100 and it’s honestly it’s pretty great. I have owned a Tineco that was gifted to me and that thing was hot garbage. If you have power tools, look to see what whatever platform(s) you are invested in already have to offer.

If you have power tools and are already invested in a battery system then buy a handheld vacuum from that brand. I own Ryobi tools and batteries so I got a Ryobi vacuum and it's so much better than the Black and Decker dust buster that I had before. You can even attach accessories to it. The batteries last a lot longer but more importantly the filter doesn't clog up a minute into the job. The problem is that these batteries are made for heavy duty tools so they're expensive so wait for deals. I think Ryobi Days on Home Depot starts soon.

Ive had the 18volt dust buster, the 6gallon 18v vacuum, and the 3 gallon 18v. They are all lackluster in performance. I got a makita 18v dust buster almost 8yrs ago and it’s still going great.

I use a Ryobi hand vacuum which uses the same batteries as most of my power tools. One 4ah battery is plenty to vacuum out a car or SUV on a single charge, unless it’s a giant mess. I’ve never managed to exhaust a single battery, but I could see someone with a bunch of messy kids needing two. Quite a bit cheaper than the more pro-grade Dewalt and Milwaukee tools others have noted. If you’re not using it every single day, IMO Ryobi is a better deal. Especially if you find sales on refurb or blemished products at Direct Tools Outlet, which is what most of my tools are, they can be half price or less of new price. If it’s something you’ll use heavily, like on a daily basis as a professional detailer, then go with a pro-grade brand like Dewalt or Milwaukee.

I have the handheld Ryobi vacuum. Don't expect much. It sucks dust, that's it.

I have an older, but similar, Ryobi hand vac. It works well for picking up tofu litter. (I haven’t tried it with the more common clay-type litters.)

Thanks, I’ve tried many times to no avail. I need to wash filter after every “use” just to get medium speed to somewhat “work”. It still pulses on medium, nothing on high.
