I'm in the same dilemma. I've found that Samsung Jet 75 or 85 are good vacuums, easy to clean (you can disassemble basically the whole cyclone unit and wash it with water - that's the deal breaker for me with the Dysons), they have pretty good suction power. And they come with plenty of attachments, so you can clean your bed, surnitures, etc. , but always check what you plan to buy and what attachments it comes with. I haven't decided either, but the Samsung vacs seem to be good options. Let me know what you think or if I'm wrong in any point.
I don't really know about Rowenta, last time I looked at their models, the ones with powerful enough suction were a bit expensive. Their model that has 230 AW suction power costs ~530€. The Samsung Jet 85 has 210 AW and costs 290€. The Rowenta X-Force 13.60, which is also around 290€ has only 150 AW suction.
I commonly see the claim that cordless vacuum cleaners cannot clean carpet adequately. To be clear, aside from the claim being entirely too general, there is no study or test that has proven that they do not clean carpet or hard floors effectively. In fact, we have reason to believe the opposite through observable performance. I think it is about time we stop peddling false or misleading claims on here. It takes away from valid criticisms of modern cordless vacuum cleaners. With that said, there are cordless stick models that are up to the task in performance and some that are not. I would avoid cheap, no-name ones off Amazon, for example. Most of them have the power of a DustBuster and are of shameful quality. There are some brands that are worth a look, though. If you can find them for something in or near your price range, Dyson makes the V8, V10, V11, and V12 that would work for your situation and be relatively close to your price range. Costco sometimes has great deals on them. The older models like the V8 and V10 fall quite a bit below the newer ones and some other brands in suction and airflow, but should be fine with hard floors and area rugs. LG cordless vacuum cleaners are also solid next to the competition, with models such as the CordZero and CordZero Kompressor that are on [LG's website](https://www.lg.com/us/vacuum-cleaners). Samsung also has an intelligent design department and sells powerful models such as the Jet 75, Jet 85, and Jet 90. I am partial to the LG models since I have more experience with them and they seem to hold up to abuse fairly well, but Samsung sells a fine unit too.
I got a Samsung Jet85 and couldn't be happier as well. I recently ended up getting a brush I didn't have and it got even better. Sure it may not be sucking as effective as the standard vacuums but with stairs at my home I dreaded to vacuum so much, id do once every 2 weeks. Which is especially horrible thing to do when you have a cat. Now with cordless stick, i literally vacuum everyday and house stays clean. I also have 2 batteries for it since one was free on a promo. So yeah, I think it also depends a lot on your needs. Standard vacuums are way to heavy / hefty for me to carry up and down everyday.
Top contenders: Henry Quick, Miele Duoflex or Triflex, Samsung Jet Bespoke AI, 85 or 75. LG A9 Cord Zero, Shark PowerDetect, Shark Vertex Pro. The Henry, Samsung Bespoke AI and Cord Zero A9 all feature a bagged mechanism of some kind which make them hygienically a step above the rest. The Henry is the only cordless that actually has a bag which is unique to this category.
They cost around 699 euros, with 280 watts of power. You could have gone for a Miele Triflex HX2 with a powerage of 272 watts for around 550 euros. It would last longer, is of German making and is less heavy. Or take a Samsung Jet class. Samsung might make shitty televisions, but they make hella good vacuum cleaner. And it's even less heavier.
Have a Samsung jet. It is good but you still need a proper vacuum as well. The Samsung I use for quick whizz around and it's great for taking up to our loft bedroom but none of them perform anywhere near as well as a wired vacuum like a Miele S3. I'd invest more in a proper vacuum then buy a relatively basic cordless one for those quick clean up jobs.
