Disliked most:
Depends if you want a powered brush for carpet/rugs, c1 very short cord, so c3 or new guard series in miele or k or e series on sebo, e3 has powered head, e2 includes a torbo air powered head for rugs , and e1 just straight suction
Sebo is most of my business so that!
Of course she will get conflicting views here. SEBO if you have the money as well worth it if not, go with the Kenny.
Or the only other quality Vacuum is the SEBO you can tell them that you want one of those instead
As a small vacuum business myself, I would be happy to switch it out for you, if you feel better, call them ahead of time. Tell him what happened and you decide to go with the SEBO
They are having issues with their new SEB O and they are upset, these things are very rare, but they do happen
Windsor/Sebo as good as it gets, what is breaking?
Sebo e1 or e2 depending on your rugs. A bit above your budget but you won't need to replace it, for atleast a decade but probably atleast two decades. 10 year warranty. You may be able to get it at discount from a dealer. The white is the best at hiding scratches. Another option, that's cheaper is a Miele c1 pure suction or the blue version with a turbo brush. Much, much shorter warranty period but excellent on hard floors. I have a Sebo d4 and purchase a Miele c1 pure suction as a present for my mother. Forget about Dyson or shark.
The Dyson, the shark and the roomba don’t compare to the Sebo. That’s how they compare. It’s like asking how a goldfish compares to a great white shark. I guess they both live in the water.
If you buy either expect to be spending another 450 on a new vacuum in the coming years. Look into a suction only Sebo or Miele if your rugs aren’t high pile. For Sebo check out the K2 or E2. For Miele look into a C1 pure suction
A lot of people on here work in vacuum shops, either managing them or as technicians repairing vacuums. We are all telling you that Shark / Dyson are garbage and you have to spend a fair amount to get a decent vacuum that will last you 4+ years. If you have all hardwood floors or some very low pile carpet, get a SEBO K2/E2, or a Miele suction only model. If you have carpet that is fairly high pile, you are kind of forced to spend a decent amount for a E3 or K3 type vacuum. If you don’t want to spend that much, Kenmore makes some halfway decent vacuums like the Intuition or Pop N Go that are fairly affordable with an electric head. I don’t know why most of your replies to people are you arguing with people whose literal job it is to work with vacuums about what is good and what’s not.
What’s your budget and flooring? If you have any medium to high pile carpet you’ll have to spend a little more, but if you have hard wood/low pile carpet you can get away with a suction only Miele or Sebo K2/E2 that will last you 10+ years
You’ll save money. If you buy a Dyson or Shark you’ll have to spend another 200 or 300 bucks in a few years. If you buy a Sebo, you will be set for 10 to 20 years.
If you’re spending 800 on a Dyson just spend that on a Sebo or Miele and you’re good for 10+ years lol
I'll also recommend a sebo. I have a sebo air belt e2. It is so much nicer and cleaner than a bagless vacuum, more power than a central vacuum.
A canister is going to be best for hard floors since they have specialized heads for hard flooring. Sebo K2 Turbo or E2 Turbo. K2 retails for $549 and E2 for $699. I'd recommend the E2 because its a newer, more refined, slightly larger and more powerful machine than the K2 but the K2 is still a great option. I'd recommend seeing if you have a Sebo dealer nearby and stopping in to try one out.
I don’t think you’ll find a good vaccum for that price range. Dysons won’t do anything (I have one and have a medium pile rug). For even a small amount of rugs/carpets sebo k3/e3 or d4. If you think the amount of carpet you have is not that much compared to hardwood/tile, you could go with an e2 or k2. But I won’t recommend it.
I have a 2750 sq ft house and picked the D4. The only reason I chose it was because it was only $50 more expensive than the e3. But the d4 is overkill for the size of my house. If the choice is between them, I’d get the e3. I also live in a ranch style house. So most vacuuming is still on the main level. If your house has 2 floors and a basement, the e3 is significantly easier the carry up two flights of stairs. This might be different for you. I’m 5’8 and 135lbs. Not the strongest. I have more rugs than you. Even with that if I would advise, I would get the e2 or d1.
Go to the closest Sebo dealer if you have one and test 1) sebo dart or felix because you might not be familiar with uprights 2) sebo k2 ($350-$400) 3) sebo e1/e2 ($550/$650) Last two are canisters. I would highly recommend the e1/e2. You just missed a huge sale that ended last weekend. You can ask the dealer about upcoming deals. All of the above have a 10 year warranty
You need to decide if you want an upright or canister vacuum. Canister vacuums are a little different to maneuver, but they're lighter because you only support the weight of the wand and nozzle. I highly recommend SEBO because they are a great mix of high quality and repairable if something goes wrong. You could get away with no powerhead (the brush spins so it's good for carpet), so you'd want a K2 or E2
K2 or E2 would do well! Alternatively you could buy one that has a power head (like the Dart) and buy a hard floor attachment like the premium parquet tool. This would work really well for all purposes. The Felix comes with that brush already and it has a swivel head, but it's closer to $700
I've been waiting for a review on this, thank you!! Yeah this machine is too cheap to pay for repairs if something goes wrong. If you absolutely have to have a budget/mid-range canister, this will do, but I think it's worth spending more for a SEBO or Miele that will last longer and perform better
I loved telling people how much research I did and how confident I am with my SEBO. I truly think it will last me 20+ years and deliver great performance over that period. It's nice to own things that won't break often and are worth fixing when they do
I think some determining factors are the E2 is medium sized, normal length hose and cord, medium sized bags, medium size and weight canister. The D1 has a long hose, a super long cord, large bags, it is heavier and bigger, but it isn't a very heavy vacuum compared to lift. The canister is around 15 lbs, but a Dyson Ball Animal is 17 lbs, and a Kirby 23 lbs. If I read that right you only have hard floors, so you don't actually need a turbo brush. The Sebo E1 Kombi is $499 CAD, that's $100 cheaper than the E2 Turbo. The E1 Kombi comes with the Premium Kombi Brush which is like the Premium Parquet Brush similar in size and the way that is swivels. The Premium Kombi Brush has no front bristles and the back bristles retract for use on rugs. If you want a longer hose and cord the D1 is a great value but otherwise I think the E1 is the better choice.
I highly recommend that you go to a local vacuum store and try a modern canister vacuum. I think a Sebo E2 Turbo or Sebo E3 Premium might be a very good vacuum for you. Canister vacuums like the Sebo E Series have 3 caster wheels so they can move in any direction where the old ones had a tricycle setup and were easy to filp over. With a canister you don't hold the weight of the vacuum just the wand and hose. You'll move forward pull the canister up and then vacuum around that spot not moving the canister again until you're ready to move up to the next spot. Since you only have 1 wool rug you might only need the Sebo E2 with a turbo brush for that rug. The Sebo E3 comes with a carpet powerhead and may not be necessary. Downsides are turbo brushes can get a lot of hairwrap and canister vacuums aren't for everyone. The Lindhaus Valzer Eco Green is a lightweight upright vacuum. It's lighter than a Sebo Felix, the Valzer weighs around 10 lbs with the hard floor nozzle and 14 lbs with the carpet powerhead on. You can use the hard floor nozzle for the majority of your home and since it doesn't have a spinning brushroll on this nozzle you will avoid hairwrap. Downsides are some of the controls aren't straight forward and not as many vacuum stores sell Lindhaus. Laslty, check out the Simplicity Spiffy S60. The Spiffy S60 is a small upright stick vacuum. It's only 7 lbs and it still has good suction from a 9 amp motor, which is more powerful than some basic Eurekas and Sharks. The Spiffy S60 has no brushroll so it avoids hairwrap. It's great on hard floors but it's still decent at cleaning rugs and carpets that are low to medium pile. Downsides are it's bagless so it will require more maintenance, it has no hose, and the crevice tool is unusable, so it's really only good for floors. Let me know what you think.
I think the Sebo E3 would be a very good choice. They have strong suction, yet they're quieter than average, very durable, and easy to maintain and repair. One downside is the E3 is more expensive upfront. I agree, the Sebo E3 isn't overkill if you have large area rugs. The powerhead cleans faster and makes it easier to push on rugs and carpets. If you get a Sebo E1 or E2 both the combo floor brush and turbo brush take more work to push back and forth. I highly recommend trying the different floor heads at a local store so you can really feel if it makes it too heavy to push for you. A vacuum with a turbo brush will also get a fair amount of hair wrap because the brushroll is very narrow. For upholstery, I actually like the standard upholstery brush. It's compact and lightweight. Many people like the handheld turbo brush because the spinning brushroll helps remove hair and fur. A turbo brush does add some weight and size so I'd try one out in the store too. Either way, cleaning with a canister is much easier; you don't have to constantly pull on a stretch hose, it's usually longer than an upright's. You can put a canister on its end so it won't roll. You can also put the cleaning tools on the end of the wand so you don't have to bend and you get a longer reach.
> Sebo BS 460, SEBO Automatic X7. Those are carpet machines, avoid those. Sebo K1 is ok, E1/E2 is better: quieter, larger bag. Get one with the newer Combi floor tool. Some of the cheaper options come with the older, clunkier, COMFORT PRO floor tool. Bagged Miele, Siemens/Bosch units are also good. Depending on how many rugs you have you may want a dedicated parquet tool rather than a switchable hard/soft floor tool. Edit: forgot about the Sebo E3: suction control on the handle is a nice upgrade, but some people complain about the bulkier hose that it comes with.
> The L1 says it has a better handle with power and mode options? The L1 has a handle with inbuilt remote control to be able to reduce suction. Something you can just do with your foot on the M1. Up to you if that's worth it. > Don't know if there exist brushes to remove cat hair from fiber/cloth like pillows and so on? > I hate buying new stuff... Depending on the fabric either the included upholstery tool or a small turbo tool. [Wesselwerk make good ones.](https://www.wessel-werk.com/en/products/turbo-nozzles/pt-160) > Maybe I should just take a trip to Germany and buy a Sebo E3, but then the premium version is the one to get so it will still be €500? I wouldn't get an E3 premium for just a couple of rugs. Either get an E1 with the Kombi floor tool, the cheaper ones in the range come with the older clunkier Combination floor tool. You can't adjust suction with your foot on an E1, so if you don't want to bend down get a €340 E3 Komfort for the better handle, no need to shell out for the premium. The E3 does come with a thicker hose than the E1 which some people find annoying. No personal experience: I've got an E1 and most of my family have Miele machines.
Copying u/No_Goose_2846 here, who could help advise you for your use case. I bought a smaller Sebo (E2 Turbo) from him in December, and am absolutely loving it. He runs a family vacuum store in NH, provided me a lovely discount and SO much patient and helpful advice! I saved the tax having him ship it to me in NY, direct from Sebo. I use my old v11 for those quick kitchen pickups, but the Sebo is just a pleasure to use. My husband wasn’t convinced we needed another vacuum for a small country house; now he’s like the Pied Piper of Power Suction.
