I just had 2 x4 sebo traded in after 27 yrs, on x7 blue's
Sebo is most of my business so that!
Of course she will get conflicting views here. SEBO if you have the money as well worth it if not, go with the Kenny.
Or the only other quality Vacuum is the SEBO you can tell them that you want one of those instead
As a small vacuum business myself, I would be happy to switch it out for you, if you feel better, call them ahead of time. Tell him what happened and you decide to go with the SEBO
They are having issues with their new SEB O and they are upset, these things are very rare, but they do happen
Windsor/Sebo as good as it gets, what is breaking?
Anyone gone from a Sebo X7 to D4 or alike? I like my X7 but it still leaves me wanting more. My old Dyson V12 stick vacuum will pick up hair and dander the X7 left behind. Very annoying for vacuum of this caliber. Been thinking of selling it and trying a D4 or E1 canister. Have you guys had better results on carpet with canister over an upright? My carpets do get clean with the X7 but it still leaves remnants of pet hair, and dander behind.
I have tried out the Felix. Felix has the swivel head so it great for tight areas. The Dart doesn’t have the swivel head, but much less in price. Both clean very well. Only caveat is they both tip over easier than a conventional standup. But minor issue for how good they both are. I went with Sebo X7. Good vacuum but wouldn’t buy another. Looking at the Sebo D4 with the power head, but it’s very pricey. You can’t go wrong with a Felix or Dart, you buy Sebo for life.
I went with the X7 because my house is mostly carpet. X7 a master at carpet. But it doesn’t sometimes snow plow when the automatic height goes too low. That can be adjusted by moving the handle up. How do you like the D4? Do you find the D4 to be too cumbersome? Is that why you want an upright? The X7 does pick up cat and dog hair extremely well. X7 does not excel on hardwood floors. I have another vacuum for that. X7 does not have the swivel head like the Felix, but I don’t mind that. X7 is a work horse and easy to maintain.
The Sebo Felix is not heavy, very maneuverable and includes the following attachments: premium parquet floor brush, crevice tool and dusting brush. It is highly rated and an excellent all rounder. The Sebo X7 is an excellent upright for carpets as well.
The x7 is a carpet only model, not ideal for stairs. The Dart is like the Felix but with several features missing: the airflow is not adjustable, the power head does not twist, and the handle height is not adjustable. The Felix and Dart can do stairs. I added the optional 9’ hose to make it easier to set my Felix down instead of carrying up each stair.
Hey mate, I run a small vacuum servicing business in Sydney. I suggest a powerheaded vacuum for your amount of carpets. For the sake of durability I wouldnt suggest any of the bagless uprights (Shark, Dyson, Bissell) Your options from cheapest to most expensive are: Sauber Pro Pets, Sauber Allergy, Wertheim 7 Series, Sebo X7, Sebo Felix, Sebo E3 Premium You dont have to buy them new necessarily. I currently use a Hoover/Sauber Allergy as my house vacuum. Good spare parts availability and easy to maintain in bagged form. EDIT: For an actual recommendation; I say Allergy, Felix, or E3.
It's not a general upright thing. The X7 and the Felix are both uprights. I even own my own used Felix that I use occasionally and love it. However they are not as usable when it comes to cleaning furniture. None of those brands have the durability that I think you would like; especially since you mentioned it as being important to you. They are very good at advertising; but they are just flatly not the highest quality. Powerheads have their own motor that spins the brush. Compared to turbo brushes that use air turbines. They are a bit more unwieldy and heavy; but if you are worried about bad carpets and old dirt combined with your allergies; they are your only option. Sebos are not often on Marketplace; but pop up every once in a while; like my Felix or a K3 that I saw a month or so ago. I like my Allergy for what it is. It does what I want it to do. I would love to have an E3, but Sebos new are very, very overpriced here. 😕 It will fill up the first bag quickly and keep the dust in. Adjust the powerhead to the appropriate height setting, vacuum slowly; let the powerhead pull your hand forward and it will get as much as possible.
I wouldn’t say that one is superior over the other; they’re just different. The X7 has a stronger suction motor and a higher bag capacity, but it’s built more to be a commercial upright for carpet-only jobs. And the reason I say carpet-only is because the roller brush can’t be turned off all the way (it has low and high speed modes), whereas you can do that with the Felix and even the Dart. The Felix gets you additional features over the Dart, such as 180 degree steering, variable suction control (awesome for drapes and blinds), and the premium parquet head (nice to have for hard floors). Really, at the end of the day, the X7 is a better choice for mostly carpeted homes and has larger capacity, but it’s also larger and heavier. But the Dart and Felix are more versatile at the expense of capacity and a bit of suction power (X7 is 1300W and Dart/Felix is 1000W). One unique feature the Dart/Felix has is modularity, where you can remove the powerhead and use it as a handheld hose vac.
I’d recommend the SEBO G4. It’s extremely durable and offers a few more features than the 300 Mechanical. It’ll likely be the best vacuum you’ve ever used. The only drawback is that it’s not ideal for hard floors, since the brush roll can’t be turned off. For those areas, you’ll want to use the extension hose and attachments. That said, the G4 lets you manually adjust the brush height, so you can raise it to its highest setting if you occasionally need to vacuum a hard floor — giving the least chance of damaging the surface. The SEBO X7 is also an excellent option. It automatically raises and lowers the head based on the surface it detects, which is convenient but takes away the manual control you get with the G4. The SEBO Felix is another good vacuum. While it isn’t built to the same commercial-grade durability as the G4, 300 Mechanical, or X7, it’s more versatile because it can handle both carpet and hard floors. It may just require a little extra care when vacuuming.
I ended up getting the SEBO X7 premium and took it for it's first run yesterday. I didn't realize what I was missing!
I just bought a Sebo x7 upright vacuum and it limbos right under my bed and couch. Can lie right down parallel to the floor. It's pretty awesome
Firstly it's important to point out that every vac will leave behind some debris. It's extremely difficult to get carpet 100% clean. Try your test in reverse, use the v12 then clean with the sebo x7 with a new bag, and cut open the bag. You'll find more dirt. Its a classic salesman trick, but the vac that goes last always "wins". Having said that, I think the manual brush adjustment ability of the canister powerheads do provide an edge in carpet cleaning. The x series models sometimes adjust themselves a little too high in my opinion, and I do prefer the results I get with the powerhead canisters.
Totally fair, I only suggest dyson as their cordlesses do genuinely preform well. Miele and sebo are fantastic choices corded vac wise.
Wattage doesn't matter. Really, it doesnt. Motor design, airpath design, quality of construction, proper design of the cleaning head all factor in greatly. Vacuums are not less effective now, they are simply more energy efficient and don't heat up the room (which is where all that wasted energy went). Even Airwatt numbers can be misleading, because again the floorhead itself is so critical in the performance. High airwattage doesn't matter if it's applied inefficiently to the surface. Avoid shark, build quality is poor and repairability is nonexistent. But yes a corded model is going to be more reliable in the long run. Pretty much any Miele or Sebo corded machine will be a good choice. They are well made, powerful, reliable. Your ikea rug probably advises against using a motorized rotating brush attachment, both miele and sebo's standard floorheads would suit that rug.
The airstorm, while good, is no better than a miele or sebo. I wouldn't pay the premium. Mieles and sebos are also sealed to trap dust. They are also more modern in design and easier to use (they have cord rewind while the air storm does not). There's nothing really bespoke about the airstorm. Underneath the top shell, the power nozzle is the same as ones avaliable for Miele models. The hose and other tools are generic off-the-shelf supplies etc. While it would probably last you a long time and do a good job, you might resent using it. I'd strongly suggest you try one in person before choosing, and frankly I'd save money and go with a nicer to use miele/sebo.
Sebo would be a good choice as an all in one vacuum replacement. But a suitable model would be a little over your price range. And sebos are dry vacuums only. As for the floor washing things, they work pretty well for mopping floors but are not an all-in-one solution in my opinion. I have a similar machine but I always vacuum first before using it. For one, they aren't as good as an actual vacuum. They don't pull dirt from corners well. And they are a complete mess to clean out when you're done if you don't vacuum ahead of time. In that way, they don't really save much work imo. And they don't work on carpet of course. So I'm not sure there's really an all-in-one solution I could recommend. If thoroughly cleaning out the floor washing machine each use is something you wouldn't mind doing, that could be worth a try. But you'd still need to vacuum your carpets with something else.
Sebo or miele if you want something high quality which will actually last 15+ years and be repairable should a part wear out. They have high performance and filtration standards. The shark is fine for 3 to 5 years with decent performance. The dyson, being cordless, you should only expect 2-4 years. And it won't have the performance of the others unless used on it's highest but shortest runtime mode. Kinda comparing apples to oranges here. If you need something immediately the shark is probably ok, but if you want something to last definitley go check out miele and sebo.
