If you're cleaning a lot of hardwood floors, I would not do Sebo uprights as they don't have a brushroll shutoff Electric brooms like the Sebo Felix/Dart, Lindhaus Valzer, Healthcare Pro can fit both the hard floor tools and motorized brushrolls from Sebo/Lindhaus Uprights like the Lindhaus Diamante have 2 motors and the brushroll can be turned off for hard floors. Not ideal if hardfloors are your main surface For canisters, Sebo D9 (the commercial version of the D4) and Lindhaus HF6 would be good options for doing it all. They have the electric brushrolls, huge bag capacity, commercial warranties, and long cords
SEBO is by a mile the best make. They are industrial products. Built like tanks, they cost as much too.
SEBO and Miele are commercial grade vacuums, and they focus on suction quality build quality and longevity. They don’t do flashy colorful gimmicks like you see on Dyson and shark. Gimmicks don’t last long. They tend to wear much quicker such as the little blades on the brush roller on the shark and Dyson that “prevent“ hair from tangling up on the roller. Then they generally come with a fabric roller that gets dirty and has to be washed. And they have not worked very well. They work only OK. Like I said, those are gimmicks and shark and Dyson are generally infomercial vacuums that are advertised heavily on home shopping networks such as QVC and HSN. Gimmicks sell but gimmicks don’t last. When a company puts more emphasis on gimmicks the quality of the vacuum generally is not that great which is why shark and Dyson don’t last very long before they need replacing.
I’m happy for you that you’re happy OP, but I can’t believe I’m saying this but as much as I have loved Miele they are going in a completely different direction that I don’t like. It’s a Vacuum, not a smartphone, but all this Bluetooth and app downloading nonsense and the LCD screen is silly. On top of that Miele is outsourcing parts for several of their newer machines. I can’t recommend anything but SEBO.
I don’t have pets, but the Miele vac is what I have for 15 years and it worked perfectly for the full 15 years before it started showing its age. Never once broke down. Nothing ever got stuck in it. The Miele models of today are not as great unless you buy their mid tier or higher end. Today I’m using a SEBO and love it even more than the Miele.
Sebo E3 Premium or D4/D9, bagged vacuum with probably the best turbo carpet head on the market
Central vac with SEBO power head, IMO.
Must be the manual adjustment SEBO, the automatic does not seem to have that issue, if it is raise it up a notch
Sebo is most of my business so that!
Of course she will get conflicting views here. SEBO if you have the money as well worth it if not, go with the Kenny.
Or the only other quality Vacuum is the SEBO you can tell them that you want one of those instead
As a small vacuum business myself, I would be happy to switch it out for you, if you feel better, call them ahead of time. Tell him what happened and you decide to go with the SEBO
They are having issues with their new SEB O and they are upset, these things are very rare, but they do happen
Windsor/Sebo as good as it gets, what is breaking?
All 3 are excellent. You really can’t do wrong between the 3. Personally I’d place more weight on the price, warranty etc between the two brands. It’s splitting hairs (see what I did there?) but I’d rank them 236, et-1, 228 in the order of cleaning performance alone. Like I said, they’re all great I don’t think there is a “right” or wrong answer here. The removable brush is a huge plus for Sebo. But IMO the Miele cleans better. However the Miele’s are not user serviceable. Also know that while I think the 236 cleans the best (by a narrow margin) it does have this awkward belt placement where it leaves a path of uncleaned carpet about 3/4 off to the side. I use that as a guide on how much to overlap but some people find it annoying.
Check out r/vacuumcleaners As mentioned Miele and Sebo are top brands. You can safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. They’re garbage. As is anything bagless.
Vacuum wars is a paid shark shill and not to be trusted. Hell Chris even appeared in a shark commercial. BIFL vacuums absolutely exist. They’re corded and bagged made by brands like Miele and Sebo.
If suction and filtration are your main concern, a *bagged* Miele is your best bet. Sebo is also excellent. What’s your flooring like? I wouldn’t even consider Dyson, they’re junk.
Miele, Sebo, Henry, Lindhaus. Shark and Dyson are garbage. Check out r/vacuumcleaners
You want to ask r/vacuumcleaners. Miele or Sebo is the correct answer. Corded and bagged. Safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. Find a local dealer and take a few Miele’s and sebos for a test drive. Specifically the Sebo dart if it’s mostly for carpet.
How old is the carpet? Any good vacuum will pull loose fibres out of carpets until they’ve been extracted, it then tapers off / stops. The Gen 5 like malt stains are actually fairly decent deep cleaners and the Gen5 in particular has good airflow and very good agitation. Not quite Sebo but better than most. Loop-pile is susceptible to damage of any vacuum with a motorised brushbar. Most carpet manufacturers will recommend straight suction only. Problem with that is you’ll never fully deep-clean carpet with straight suction. That’s what you get for buying, let’s be honest, an impractical type of carpet. Your best bet is a straight-suction vacuum. A robot vacuum has the same cleaning power as a carpet sweeper and that’s how they should be viewed as; to keep the carpets looking clean. You will absolutely need something to go over them once per week, as in, an actual proper vacuum. Robot vacuums nearly all have motorised brush and as well however they have the same agitation as a feather duster. It wouldn’t damage these carpets but for what it’s worth, I’d suggest a straight suction cheapo vacuum would be good. Maybe a bagged canister from Amazon. The gen5 would have served you well tbh. You could have gone for a Sebo canister with a powered head for all the other carpets, and a straight suction tool for these carpets and then you’d only have needed 1 vacuum.
Any Sebo with a ET1 power head. A Felix, or X7. X7 takes the guess work out of adjusting to different floor types carpet types. Built to last, a real pleasure to use and own.
Get a proper corded vacuum if you want sustained power. If you have a lot of carpets and a busy home then absolutely. There are some good cordless modes but don’t expect them to last as long as long. Get yourself a Sebo if you want high-end performance and something that’ll easily last you 20 years, plus bagged vacuums are an order of magnitude more hygienic than bagless.
Have you vacuumed with a canister before? Do you like/want to use your vacuum for dusting and above floor cleaning? Both the Felix and the canisters with the electric powerhead will do well in your home so it's all going to be about personal preference. The Felix does come with the premium parquet brush but can be very awkward while using the hose. If you have a local dealer pop in and test drive both.
The advantage to something like a Sebo, and to a slightly lesser extent Miele, is that you are buying a product that has exceptional build quality and is highly repairable should the need arise.
Pretty much either Miele or Sebo with a powerhead. Any of them. If you really do have wall to wall carpets, a second hand Kirby with a HEPA bag is decent lol
You’ll save money. If you buy a Dyson or Shark you’ll have to spend another 200 or 300 bucks in a few years. If you buy a Sebo, you will be set for 10 to 20 years.
If you’re spending 800 on a Dyson just spend that on a Sebo or Miele and you’re good for 10+ years lol
