Sebo dart a little over budget but bullet proof and powerfull

I’m the SEBO all the models they make you push a button in the brush roll will pop out, and of course, a plug-in is going to be twice as powerful as any cordless, and the fact it takes a bag makes for easy dirt disposal, and a lot cleaner air

Sebo is most of my business so that!

Of course she will get conflicting views here. SEBO if you have the money as well worth it if not, go with the Kenny.

Or the only other quality Vacuum is the SEBO you can tell them that you want one of those instead

As a small vacuum business myself, I would be happy to switch it out for you, if you feel better, call them ahead of time. Tell him what happened and you decide to go with the SEBO

They are having issues with their new SEB O and they are upset, these things are very rare, but they do happen

Windsor/Sebo as good as it gets, what is breaking?

Sebo Dart, or Felix small and powerful. Can’t go wrong with either.

I have tried out the Felix. Felix has the swivel head so it great for tight areas. The Dart doesn’t have the swivel head, but much less in price. Both clean very well. Only caveat is they both tip over easier than a conventional standup. But minor issue for how good they both are. I went with Sebo X7. Good vacuum but wouldn’t buy another. Looking at the Sebo D4 with the power head, but it’s very pricey. You can’t go wrong with a Felix or Dart, you buy Sebo for life.

I went with the X7 because my house is mostly carpet. X7 a master at carpet. But it doesn’t sometimes snow plow when the automatic height goes too low. That can be adjusted by moving the handle up. How do you like the D4? Do you find the D4 to be too cumbersome? Is that why you want an upright? The X7 does pick up cat and dog hair extremely well. X7 does not excel on hardwood floors. I have another vacuum for that. X7 does not have the swivel head like the Felix, but I don’t mind that. X7 is a work horse and easy to maintain.

Sebo Dart would be high on my list. The feature list is trimmed down from the SEBO Felix. It has on/off versus variable speed control, the handle height is not adjustable and the power head does not twist/flex left and right. The cord is 30' and the brush roll can easily be removed and washed. The power head works well on bare floors and you can add the premium parquet. Commercial variants are available from Karcher and Windsor. Sebos are designed to be repaired and come with good warranty.

If you have a meaningful amount of carpet and it’s anything higher than a low-medium pile you’re gonna need to spend a bit more to get a “long term” vacuum. Look into the Sebo E3/K3. You more than likely need something with an electric powerhead. If your carpet is extremely low pile you can get away with an E2/K2 with a turbo brush. If your budget was 300 I doubt you’re willing to more than double that, so my advice is to look into the Kenmore Intuition or Kenmore Pop & Go. They should last you at least 3-4 years, hopefully more if you take care of them.

In that case look into the Sebo Dart. It’s a more traditional upright and is great for carpet. It also has a brushroll shutoff for your hardwood floors. A little more expensive than your budget, but not as expensive as the E3. It will also last you a long long long time. The justification I make to myself is, if I spend 200+ on a vacuum every 2-3 years, that adds up over a 10-15 year period. If I spend 5 or 6 hundred once on a Felix, I very well may never need to spend money on a new machine again (with proper care and maintenance)

You’ll save money. If you buy a Dyson or Shark you’ll have to spend another 200 or 300 bucks in a few years. If you buy a Sebo, you will be set for 10 to 20 years.

If you’re spending 800 on a Dyson just spend that on a Sebo or Miele and you’re good for 10+ years lol

Yes absolutely corded and bagged is the way to go. Sebo dart is a great option especially if being too rough is a concern as it has an optional “soft” brushroll you can swap out easily.

Honestly both of those are not great options. Take a look around the sub. Dyson and Shark are generally bad vacuums with flashy marketing and 0 longevity or cleaning ability. Sebo dart should be at the top of your list. See if you have a local Sebo dealer and take it for a test drive. Even with a high shedding dog you won’t go through bags nearly as quick as you might think. Bagged machines **compress** the fur. Where as bagless fluffs it up.

It should be $549 but worth every penny of the 10% overage. For your flooring I really wouldn’t recommend much else. It’s a BIFL workhorse that should last you 20+ years with proper care.

Definitely don’t get another Dyson. Check out a Sebo dart or Miele C1 cat and dog. Both are excellent. If you can stretch your budget, Sebo k3 or Felix

Definitely the Sebo dart then. It’s excellent and should last you 20+ years. Find a local Sebo dealer and take it for a test drive. It’s bagged. Which means almost 0 maintenance compared to shitty bagless vacs we all are used too. Empty the bag when it’s full every 2-3 months and replace the motor filters annually. Thats it.

Around your budget: Simplicity allergy However, if you can splurge a Sebo dart is excellent. The brushroll pops out on 2 seconds with no tools for easier hair removal.

Fwiw that vacuum will last you 20 years most likely. Yes it’s a lot upfront. But it’s worth it in the long run imo. I learned this the hard way after burning through 2 sharks and 2 Dysons over the course of ~6 years and well over $1k. Also “self cleaning” or “anti-tangle” is mostly marketing garbage. The simplicity is still a great unit for the price. See if you have a local dealer that sells simplicity. You can take it for a test drive first before buying.

If it’s very low pile carpeting **maybe** (think commercial carpeting). If it’s standard house plush carpeting, no it won’t cut it. ideally you would want an electric powerhead. You could do a simplicity allergy or Sebo dart if budget allows.

Agreed with the other commenter, a Sebo Dart is worth a splurge. Short of that, Kenmore elite or Simplicity allergy.

Sharks have definitely gone down hill. You’ll be lucky to get 5 years out of a new one. Think of it this way, a bagged will perform better and last longer than any bagless. Depending on the model you’ll only go through 3-5 bags per year. Thats a small price to pay for a vacuum that won’t end up in a landfill like a modern bagless. Imo if you can swing the extra ~$150 a Sebo dart would be excellent and last you many decades.

Dysons are disliked around here for a few reasons 1) Because they have had a monumental fall from grace, check out some horror stories on r/dyson. Literal extortion and stealing from their customer service team. Not to mention the quality of products has also taken a nosedive in the last ~3-5 years or so 2) Not specific to Dyson but cordless/bagless vacuums in general were never intended for whole home cleaning. Really just quick spot messes and pickups. 3) They’re not designed to last, in fact the opposite. Planned obsolescence plays a heavy hand in Dyson’s business model. When something breaks, the entire unit goes in the trash. They don’t support with parts anymore. 4) For what they are and how they perform, they just **cost too damn much**. Ideally you’ll want a corded and bagged primary vacuum for weekly deep cleans. Then a cordless/bagless stick for quick daily messes. I’d check out a Sebo dart or Miele C1 cat and dog for your primary vacuum. Both of these will last you around 20 years with proper care. Plus if something breaks you can actually fix it. I also think you’ll notice a big difference in allergies with a bagged machine. Emptying the Dyson re-releases millions of particles back into the air (if the gaskets aren’t already leaking). Keep your current Dyson for quick messes if it’s still usable.

If you can bump your budget - a Sebo dart would be fantastic. Otherwise. Kenmore 600 series or Kenmore intuition BU4050. You want something corded **and bagged**

For that budget grab a Sebo dart or Miele C1 Cat and Dog and don’t think twice. Both are excellent options it just depends on your form factor preference.

The best do it all vacuum in that budget is a Sebo Dart.

For one that lasts and carpet focused - Sebo Dart

Probably not available through Lowe’s. But the Miele C1 Cat and Dog routinely goes on sale for around your top budget and checks all your boxes. That would be my pick for sure. If you prefer an upright, Sebo dart which is right on budget too. Keep the cordless stick for quick daily messes. Use the corded/bagged machine for weekly deep cleans.

Oh nice I didn’t know Lowe’s sold them. Yes that model. The bad reviews on lowes’ website have no text so I’ll assume they’re fake/not legit. Take a look around this sub, it’s an excellent machine. A lot of the negative reviews on Amazon for this model are complaining about the canister form factor, not the vacuums itself. For mostly hard floor a canister is ideal, but if you prefer an upright check out the Sebo’s.

You’re in good company with the shark hate. They suck (poorly) Imo if you can swing the extra budget should grab a Sebo dart. It’s an exceptional vacuum.

Miele C1 Cat and Dog is excellent but just slightly over budget. Also a Sebo dart if you prefer an upright. All combo/wet/dry vacs are a joke so get that idea out of your head.

Find a local Miele and Sebo dealer and try out the Sebo dart - the hose is a little tippy but you can get an extension which is great. Ideally you’d want a Miele C1 cat and dog. The canister style seems to suit your needs better than an upright. But it’s a touch over budget. You’ll be able to test drive both of these at your local vacuum store.

You want to ask r/vacuumcleaners. Miele or Sebo is the correct answer. Corded and bagged. Safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. Find a local dealer and take a few Miele’s and sebos for a test drive. Specifically the Sebo dart if it’s mostly for carpet.

Sebo dart for sure. You could go to the X7 as well but it’s considerably more expensive.

Sebo dart for sure. You’ll probably go through your first bag or two quickly because of how much hair has been left behind. But bagged vacuums actually **compress** the hair whereas bagless actually fluff up the hair. You’ll be amazed how much hair fits in a vacuum bag.

Check out r/vacuumcleaners As mentioned Miele and Sebo are top brands. You can safely ignore any shark or Dyson recs. They’re garbage. As is anything bagless.

Vacuum wars is a paid shark shill and not to be trusted. Hell Chris even appeared in a shark commercial. BIFL vacuums absolutely exist. They’re corded and bagged made by brands like Miele and Sebo.

*Cordless* Vacuums are disposable. **Corded and bagged** vacuums like a Miele or Sebo will last you 2 decades or longer. Ask r/vacuumcleaners

Echoing the other recs of Miele and Sebo. If air quality and cleaning performance are top priorities you absolutely must get something with a **bag**. Bagless HEPA is a sad joke, the dust cup explodes when you empty it and the seals leak after a few heat cycles.

If suction and filtration are your main concern, a *bagged* Miele is your best bet. Sebo is also excellent. What’s your flooring like? I wouldn’t even consider Dyson, they’re junk.

Miele, Sebo, Henry, Lindhaus. Shark and Dyson are garbage. Check out r/vacuumcleaners

Sebo Dart/ felix definitely worth it. Kenmore BU4050 if you dont want to spend as much and still get bang for your buck

Definitely Sebo if you can swing it. We've had a ton of luck and use out of our Kenmore Intuition BU4050 too

Id consider the hair wrap about normal on the Sebo but removing the brush roll to clean it is the best part its so easy. Comes with a 10 year warranty if you buy from a dealer and bags are around $5 per bag and filters get replaced every 8 to 10 bags. Depending on how much you Vacuum the bags should last a couple months per bag

Sebo if you can budget it. Dart or Felix. Could also try the Kenmore Intuition BU4050

Eureka Stylus NEC490SE has done us well for everyday quick pickups. Then we use our Sebo for deeper longer cleans

Going off your requirements including 80% carpet 20% hard floors, 2 cats, reliable and easy to repair: you’re looking at $550+. So Sebo Dart or Felix if you want an upright or Miele canister.

Reddit IconEllieMayNot10

If you cannot go any higher than that and are willing to get an upright, a Sebo Dart of even a Sebo Felix if you can find one on sale. Reach out to local and online authorized sellers and ask about any current specials. I just recently ordered a Sebo canister (K3) from vacuumdr and saved quite a bit off of retail pricing. If you are set on a canister, then the only one in your price range with a power head from Miele would be the cat and dog model. Again, I'd check with multiple authorized sellers to see who has the best pricing. I almost went with the Miele but opted to pay a bit more for the Sebo K3 as I'm hoping to get 20 years out of it.
