"Suction performance is great. ... its suction performance was nowhere near that of the Shark. ... Suction is great."

"There is so much weight on the bottom hinge that it eventually gives way. ... Don't expect longevity. ... It was broken by 2023. ... Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the Shark Lift Away models. They are absolutely terrible in longevity, being built with cheap plastic parts at the bottom hinges, which will break in a few years. ... It is very poorly designed in that section. ... Longevity is awful. ... The problem is the weight of the canister/motor on the bottom hinge in the lift-away and other similar designs. You'd expect they would have used metal hinges to take some 15 lbs of equipment weight on it. But when it finally broke, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic. The floor and carpet attachment are now useless."

I own a Miele C3 as well. All I'm saying is that a Dyson is far from weak. The Miele barely picks up anything if I run it after the Dyson. In fact, I got my Dyson to replace my Miele because the Miele weighs as much as a small car and was cumbersome to lug around with average result. I have a Shark LiftAway that cleans better than it also. Again, if you think Dyson's suction is "shitty" then you just *want* to hate them. There are tons of tests out there comparing suction in vacuums. Check out Vacuum Wars on YouTube. Your Miele isn't as amazing as you've been convinced that it is.

They’re good in their own ways. My [Shark cordless](https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9492712) is decent enough, but my Dyson was better at not losing suction. The Vax blade and other handhelds are pretty useless in my opinion. I use my Roborock robot every day and give it a proper vacuum a few times a week with the Shark. Much easier than manual vacuuming every day! My mum used to have a commercial Karcher many years ago that weighed a ton but would pull the carpet up if you weren’t careful. Then she had another commercial one, a Lindhaus. After that she stopped letting my dad buy stuff that would last and went for things she could push!

I like my bosch athlete but it's a different formfactor (upright not stick), you can't replace the battery and I don't like the accessory system. I've had 3 or 4 models and the latest 30ish volts are best with awesome suction. Honestly can't tell a diffference between the athlet and my corded sebo felix on our hard floors. Probably a bit heavier but it's an upright not a stick so not as much weight on your hand and love that it stands on it's own instead of laying all over the place. Hate that the battery is built in and can't be replaced but my spouse likes it much more than our Henry canister and Sebo Felix stick that when the battery life gets short we just get a new one. Brush roll is removable and it makes cleaning it so much easier than my shark duo clean head with a fixed rear brush. Liked every thing else about my shark cordless "lift away" vacuum but the hard to clean easy to clog rear brush roll made me give up on it and relegate it to light duty in the basement. But buy it knowing that if you like it after three or four years you'll probably get a new one so factor that into the lower cost when comparing against more expensive vacuums such as dyson: [https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/bosch-innovations/athlet](https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/bosch-innovations/athlet)

Shark, specifically the pet uprights. My long haired cat moults like crazy and our Shark upright will pick up everything out of the carpet, and the sofas and chairs with the attachments. Also helps when the humans moult; two people with thyroid issues constantly shedding long hair live here too. My cat-owning friends have bought Shark hoovers. Henry was alright but I hate his silly face and he constantly tipped over when I used it. The combo of the two just infuriated me!

Bought the cordless pet model from Costco. It's been great. For low pile rugs and hardwood it's fine. You can order a second battery off of Amazon so you're never without a charge. I like that the battery is removable vs integrated like many other cordless brands. You can't really go wrong for the price and it's costco so you're good if it's not what you're expecting!

Same, I got the cordless pet model from Costco when it went on sale like… 7 years ago? And it’s still going strong. It’s the only vacuum I use to clean my three story house with kids and dogs and it does the job just fine. Sometimes the battery will die before I’ve vacuumed everywhere if I haven’t vacuumed in a while and I’m “deep cleaning” but it charges quickly anyway

I had a Henry in the past and currently have a Shark. The henry was good but if you wanted to use the brushes on the head to lift up the carpet pile it can be quite hard work. It was also bulky and took up a lot of room in the under-stairs cupboard. The shark we have now is cordless and is decent and I enjoy using it. It has the head with the power-fins on it rather than a spinning brush. With this design I think it's better for hard floors rather than carpet. The fins don't do a good job of lifting the carpet pile. Without any weight keeping the head down, the head wobbles up and down if you drag the cleaner back against the direction of the pile.

I have a Shark cordless WITH FINS. Not the brush roller. The fins do not wrap hair!! I have long hair, wool rugs and a dilute Torti, i vacuum every day and empty it daily. Fins are the way to go. Corded or cordless. FINS FINS https://preview.redd.it/bmwj48r457fe1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ef9a3241ef64e2c8ee9c1c90bfe78dc4d5de906

We have a Shark cordless vacuum cleaner (the one specifically marketed for pets), and it’s really good. BUT my two dogs shed so much that you need to empty it at least every single day (and that’s just on one floor, where they are free to roam). After having had my father-in-law’s vacuum cleaner that’s used for when you do DIY, etc. (a very rudimentary version of the Henry), I’m thinking about just getting a Henry for downstairs (I think they have a pet version), which is bigger and keep the Shark for upstairs instead.
