I know shark is the devil on here but for $250 and under for a bagless machine either shark (a Costco one so you have kinda pseudo warranty) is imo best bet either that or a kenmore bagless I hear is decent too

I totally get the satisfaction of seeing the dust bin fill up — there’s something weirdly motivating about it. And honestly, I’m not sure why Shark gets so much hate here. I’ve had a Shark Pet for about three years now and it’s still going strong. It is kind of a pain to empty and I sometimes wish I’d gone bagged,, but if you prefer bagless, it’s actually been a solid option for me. If you want to compare bagless canisters side by side, there’s a [vacuum comparison sheet](https://www.reddit.com/user/lacking_foyer48/comments/1lj76h3/vacuum_cleaners_compared_comprehensive_datasheet/) another Redditor put together that covers all the different styles, specs, and features. Makes it a lot easier to see what you’re really getting for your budget.

I have been a Shark user for years. Great suction! Costco has them…just be sure to get a big canister one.

I have owned 2 Shark's now, the first one was an upright, and was quite good, but at 4 years and 11 months the hose split, and (thanks to the 5 year warranty) the retailer ended up giving a credit as Shark couldn't repair it or get parts (bit of a red flag) We then stuck with the stick vac for a while until a couple of years ago when we got another Shark, a bagless barrel vac with powered brush. It. Is. TERRIBLE. Not only does it not provide anywhere near enough suction, the rollers or hose clog at the drop of a hat, and the emptying system is sure to leave more dust on the floor than you can get off it with this vacuum. About a week ago, sick of going over and over the carpet, I finally dragged the cheapo $200 Karcher T 7/1 I use for car detailing in from the shed. With just the standard suction head (no brush at all), it managed to get dog and cat hair off the carpet that I thought was ingrained in it it had been there so long. It serioulsy looked like I had had the carpet steam cleaned. So, to answer your question, the best Shark to get is another brand. And on that note, does anyone have any good recommendations? Or should I just buy another Karcher for the house and have 2 the same... only downside I find is the 3 part plastic pipe feels a bit flimsy (Don't need this for cars)

Shark every time. I’ve had Henry and I can’t stand him (they’re good but I don’t personally like them and they’re heavy) I am on my second shark and I love it, light weight and picks up the dog hair (we have the pet one) even my mum who has had countless vacuum makes swears by shark now

Yeh best one I have found for pets especially cat hair, has to be the pet friendly Shark. Had mine for 5 years no which is the longest I have owned a vacuum cleaner, they normally burn out within 2 yrs but the Shark has proven to be the best

Not entirely true. We have the shark pet vac, bag-less. We’ve had it for 9 years now and no issues!
