I'm a big Shark fan - customer service is superb and they will send replacement parts or whole new appliances if parts aren't available. Great design (for access to clean/blockages etc.) and well built I think I've got the same Pet model and would replace it with same if it failed in an instant
My Shark Pet was on offer £149. it's pathetic now. Got a Screwfix Titan builders one. noisy as anything, bought a better pole/brush off ebay and it's amazing. £48 in total.
Ours is an NV602UKT. We've got two hairy dogs and it's great for hard floors, or carpet (switch on the handle). Gets the hair up fantastically well. We did have a problem with a motor running the main roller, but the machine is modular, so you can buy the sections you need from Shark without attempting to rip it apart and doing more damage. Also great for stairs as various bits detach as you choose so you don't need to haul the whole things around. Downside.... It's pretty damn heavy.
> I had a Dyson and didn’t realize how bad they actually are until I bought my first Shark We did the same. We got new carpets upstairs and the Dyson tank filled after five rooms with new fluff. Changed over the the Shark and the tank was filled 2-3 times over in ever single room. The Shark made the Dyson feel like a wheezy asthmatic. The lift away is also very useful.
Relatives keep giving me out of warranty stuff to clean/unclog. I had a NV602UK to unclogg and untangle as the roller kept getting stuck, the roller part was hard to take apart. Torx screws with security bits are a bit burdensome, but that could have been on some vax's that I were unclogging at the same time.
We have a shark and a Henry. We have far more issues with the shark gradually getting clogged with pet hair in one of the pipes but it’s relatively straightforward to completely dismantle if need to. Henry is absolutely a clunky bugger but he continues to reign supreme imo
I had both at the same time ironically. Ended up selling Henry, the shark is still in my house now 4 years later. I love it so much. No bags, easier to maneuver mostly, easier to store, no fishing accidental swallowed items through bags, easy floor type control and suction control, and best of all, my Shark really does handle pet hair with ease. I will forever be a Shark woman now. https://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-classic-upright-pet-vacuum-nv602ukt-zidNV602UKT?tracking=searchterm:Pet+hoover - I got the pet one and it handles my kids "house decorating", and pets hair perfectly.
At the moment, I own a Shark upright which I have had for a couple of years. If it broke today, I would purchase a Shark upright again, no hesitation. The build quality is excellent, the dust bin is adequate, the suction is unbelievable.
I prefer a corded vacuum in this line of work - making sure to have enough charged batteries every day sounds like too much of a hassle to me. My favorite vacuum is the Shark True Pet. It has a great lift away function so you can easily vacuum underneath furniture. It is also user friendly enough that I can handle any maintenance issues.
