"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"Would not vac or mop under my kitchen cabinets, nor under dining chairs"

"Wouldn’t go under kitchen cabinets ... dining chairs ... or the back of sofa."

"Toe kick cleaning is in my experience non-existent. Maybe mine are too low, I'll have to clean those 2 inches by hand."

"getting stressed out about the whole process of plugging in, lifting, storing the giant Kirby and not vacuuming at all in the end."

"You do NOT want a Kirby if you have stairs - trust me."

"very heavy and cumbersome"

"There is so much weight on the bottom hinge that it eventually gives way. ... Don't expect longevity. ... It was broken by 2023. ... Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the Shark Lift Away models. They are absolutely terrible in longevity, being built with cheap plastic parts at the bottom hinges, which will break in a few years. ... It is very poorly designed in that section. ... Longevity is awful. ... The problem is the weight of the canister/motor on the bottom hinge in the lift-away and other similar designs. You'd expect they would have used metal hinges to take some 15 lbs of equipment weight on it. But when it finally broke, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic. The floor and carpet attachment are now useless."

"the latch broke so front brush roll won't stay in"

"The filter is clogged light has been on for years though (yes I’ve replaced the filter several times)"

"The replacement filters are literally sheets you have to cut yourself and are so much thinner than the initial filters that come with the main unit."

"I have to vacuum the filters every couple weeks. ... So, while they do collect a ton of dust, the maintenance and replacement is a pain."

I don't recommend shark. We bought it, it's alright, but we still use our corded shark for the heavy lifting.

I hope i dont get crucified here but I purchased a Shark ADV Lift away vacuum from Costco for $320. The ADV version is apparently better. I have super super plush carpets and any vacuum I tried always struggled. I took extra carpet to try out miele and even that one got kind of stuck on the carpet. The Shark glides on it even on max suction. I had to empty the canister like 6 or 7 times in a 2400sqft house where I've lived for only a year. Weekly vacuums. Stairs. All of it. It felt gross knowing how bad my carpets were with my last vacuum. The stairs are carpeted and work very well with the power pet attachment I can't speak for longevity. I'll update you in 5 years My goal is a Sebo 4 which is $1300 new. Used is about 1/4 - 1/3 of that price but the warranty makes up for the cost difference

Corded Shark, I got my second one after 10 years. We have dogs, cats and kids. It does very well, would recommend.

Spend a little more and get the shark upright with powered/motorized lift away head that can reach under things with power. Much better than the cheaper version. I’ve purchased three of these vacuums for myself and my two daughters. #Model: AZ3002 $279. Or the newer version with extra attachments Model: LA492 $349. The first one is good and probably only difference is attachments and other features that don’t really make a difference. I wouldn’t get cheaper than the $279. One bc of the powered head that fully detaches with powered head/beater brush that cleans much better then the wind powered other models & they don’t really distinguish the powered head difference in the models……hope that makes sense. I also have the Dyson v15 stick vacuum and to be honest the shark does a better job but the cord and not as cool …….

I am having the same issue. I bought a shark lift away which I loved for 2 months then the latch broke so front brush roll won't stay in. Since then I've bought 3 other vacuums and none of them pich up dust or dog hair. I need an affordable vacuum that will work on hard floors that will suck up pet hair and dust. In the past I had a Tineco vacuum mop and I agree with the comment on the smell and mine didn't pick up anything very well. I have long haired dogs and I need something that works. Plus I'm on a fixed income so I can't pay $700 for a vacuum. I'm at a loss

I have a corded Shark. It sucks... but in a good way.

It also picks up more than my old corded Shark (that I absolutely hated, but that’s neither here nor there I suppose) but people say corded is more powerful and I just think it really depends on what machine you’ve got with a battery and what machine you’ve got with a plug 🤷🏻

We have a shark with lift away, excellent for stairs. Had it 7 years now, pretty shit at picking up now and thinking of replacement. Goes well from hardwood to carpet etc,

I had a Henry extra 5 years ago, it was fine. I replaced with a corded shark which has been better suction wise and has lasted 5 years but... I think it depends mainly on how much you want to care for it. For my shark I have the rollers to check, clean the housing, the anti hair wrap which eventually gets hair wrapped around it needs sorting. The dust collector needs washing out, the filter needs changing. Essentially it feels like there is always something than needs doing with it. With a Henry you just buy spare bags and stick them on, oh it's full changed the bag. Other than a quick wipe when he's grubby Henry will just keep going, no maintenance needed.
