Shark handheld (I don't know the name) it's pretty newish 2020+ model and has the anti hair wrap thing. It's fine. Obviously as a handheld the battery and suction is not as good as it could be on a much more expensive Dyson model. But I find it decently acceptable for the upstairs, if run on full power it can run out in 15 minutes though. I would recommend a cord vacuum if you want to do a whole house or large flat. But I do like my sharks, and I think Henry Hoover's are still a solid shout.
Just me who friends Henry cumbersome and rubbish? I like the Shark cordless pet anti hair wrap one
Newer dysons and shark have tangle free brush bars and there actually work!
People go nuts for Henry's on here but I find their suction and ability to get up pet hairs is poor, and lugging around the unit is really tiresome. I have a cordless Shark with anti-hair wrap and it's fantastic. Having a long haired cat, the fur gets everywhere, and it easily gets it all.
I have own three sharks. I think the first was the NV210, it was a tank. Lasted us ten years but I kept it and filters clean, and I abused it by cleaning up pea stone, Dry wall dust, and banging into wood trim. Good cheap vacuum. The second was the rechargeable stick. Not great. Poor suction, terrible battery, very difficult to clean. Only lasted three years, including one battery swap. Would not buy again. The third is our current plug-in vacuum. Shark lift away with the power odor eliminator pod. It’s decent, but the brushhead is weird, it takes its time to wind up to full speed. It’s a different roller than a typical beater brush and apparently doesn’t get hair stuck around it. Good suction for the price, I was very wary of dropping a grand for a vacuum after I had such good years with our previous shark. haven’t needed to work on it much yet and I have a wet/dry vacuum now for house projects. I spent a lot of time in this sub last November prior to decide on the best vacuum. My wife was adamant she wanted a standup, she wanted battery powered (to replace the shark mentioned above) but I was able to convince her to relax on this requirement. And she wanted bagless, this couldn’t sway her. After a time of tolerating the shark rechargeable I had enough and tossed it. This past week I bought a Dyson v15 refurbished on Amazon, it was brand new and works great so far although it my wife mentioned it doesn’t handle pea stone well dragged in by two doodles from our garden. She’s beyond happy so I’m happy. However now I want a better plug-in vacuum. She’s a quick mess cleaner, I’m a deep cleaner, and the new shark is not a vacuum I’d buy again. I probably would buy a Miele C1.
I've always found them to be hype. Used to have a Dyson corded that I got from my dad second hand. it was good, until I decided to replace it with a Shark corded. The first time I used the shark, you'd have thought I'd never hoovered the carpet, honestly the amount of engrained hair and dust it pulled out was insane in comparison to the Dyson which looked like it was doing a good job, it's not that it didn't pick anything up but I would say the recovery rate was probably 65% in comparison to the shark. I then bought the shark stick handheld and was using that but when I split with my ex it stayed at the house. My new partner has a Dyson V8 and it's crap in comparison, there is stuff I know my shark would of picked up easily and the Dyson struggles. I also have a V7 my dad gave me which I just replaced the battery on as that had got to the point where it would only run for 30seconds before switching off so will see how it is with the new battery but tbh don't hold high hopes.
The Shark Stick Vac does a great job. You can get it cordless or with a cord. If you end up with the Ryobi, you could always get a tool that has the same battery and use for the vacuum. I love all of my Ryobi outdoor tools. I have a lot of different tools, including the zero turn mower and push mower, plus a lot of hand tools. They all work great. The leaf vacuum does a great job mulching, too.
The Shark stick vacs are what you get when someone who has never used a vacuum is asked to design a vacuum. They suck fine and survive ok in a less demanding environment, but everything about it is weird and awkward and makes you question your life choices. If you just a need a basic vacuum and don't have long-haired pets, it might fit the bill. But definitely buy from someplace with a generous return policy if you decide to try one.
I’ve had the same Shark stick vac for 15 years. It’s nothing special, and there are some functionality features I’d change, but it works well. I only use it on hard floors. It’s quick and convenient. I use it daily in the kitchen. It fits underneath the cabinets where my upright doesn’t.
