I got one of these at Christmas and it's great for large amounts of Golden Retriever hair. https://www.briscoes.co.nz/product/1091954/shark-cordless-vacuum-blue-iz102anz/ It's currently cheaper at PB Tech though. I got mine from Mitre 10 and managed to get the price match and then additional 15% off deal, so was down to ~$270. Sharks rate pretty highly on the Goldie FB group (vacuum recommendations are a common topic!) I couldn't afford/justify a Dyson, so didn't look into models and can't comment on if they are worth the price increase..

Picked up a decent Shark from JB for around $300. Probably the best vacuum we've owned.

It has no model name, it's just called self cleaning roller vacuum. Has a pic of a Labrador on it. We got it from JB. I think it was the only Shark cordless they had.

yeah we got one of these, goes hard, used my parents brand new corded miele a couple weeks after getting it, more or less comparable imo in terms of effectiveness. definitely no significant difference anyway

Have a shark hand held anti hair wrap one. Find it great. Definitely heavier than a Dyson hand held but stronger suction & long battery - does our whole house no issue. Also a light which is very handy. We have no carpets but busy house with kids and pets

Have a handheld shark with anti heair rap, more clunky & heavier than Dyson but far better suction & battery. Also have Henry for more serious debris as needed. We have no carpet. Look forward to the day when we can get a robot hoover friend

I got a Hoto vacuum but it developed a problem where the vacuum cup attachment would not twist on and stay on the body. However their customer service (after I sent them a video of the problem) is good and they sent me a brand new full unit even though they could have just sent me the attachment. I also bought a Shark handvac in the mean time and that works very well too.

I don't think they are a known vacuum brand. They make a variety of tools. I have their screwdriver too. [https://hototools.com](https://hototools.com) This is what I have. [https://hototools.com/products/compressed-air-capsule](https://hototools.com/products/compressed-air-capsule) The hoto is compact so I was keeping it with my coffee gear. I bought the Shark Wandvac as soon as the Hoto broke and while I was interacting with Hoto's customer service. The Shark works fine and has a bigger chamber. The draw back of the Shark is I can't just leave it with my coffee stuff in the kitchen and it uses a special cradle to charge. The Hoto charges over USB-C. The Hoto also works as a blower so you can attach a bunch of nozzles it comes with on the opposite end to blow out stuff or inflate flotation devices etc. Suction wise both are the same. I haven't even opened the new Hoto package and it has been a few months.

We have a Shark cordless vacuum cleaner (the one specifically marketed for pets), and it’s really good. BUT my two dogs shed so much that you need to empty it at least every single day (and that’s just on one floor, where they are free to roam). After having had my father-in-law’s vacuum cleaner that’s used for when you do DIY, etc. (a very rudimentary version of the Henry), I’m thinking about just getting a Henry for downstairs (I think they have a pet version), which is bigger and keep the Shark for upstairs instead.

Two adults with long hair and two cats with long hair in this house and the shark one for animals does brilliantly. Never gets clogged like all my previous hoovers did and it came with two batteries so I can just switch them out without having to stop and wait for one to charge.

I love, love, love my Shark. I bought it because it claimed that the roller brush was self cleaning and it's true. No hair ever, ever has gotten wrapped around the roller brush in the 5+ years that I've had my Shark. My previous vacuum (not a Shark) every month I had to use scissors and/or sharp knife to cut the hair off the roller brush but never once with my Shark. I love it. Best money I ever spent and it wasn't even an expensive vacuum.

I've always found them to be hype. Used to have a Dyson corded that I got from my dad second hand. it was good, until I decided to replace it with a Shark corded. The first time I used the shark, you'd have thought I'd never hoovered the carpet, honestly the amount of engrained hair and dust it pulled out was insane in comparison to the Dyson which looked like it was doing a good job, it's not that it didn't pick anything up but I would say the recovery rate was probably 65% in comparison to the shark. I then bought the shark stick handheld and was using that but when I split with my ex it stayed at the house. My new partner has a Dyson V8 and it's crap in comparison, there is stuff I know my shark would of picked up easily and the Dyson struggles. I also have a V7 my dad gave me which I just replaced the battery on as that had got to the point where it would only run for 30seconds before switching off so will see how it is with the new battery but tbh don't hold high hopes.

I have a shark but I can't think of the model but I feel like it was specifically for pets. I have a long haired german shepherd, and it works well even with her fur. My last vacuum was regularly jammed by her fur.

I got a barely-used Shark Navigator from cleaning out a relative's condo (after they died) and it lasted me 9 years of regular use due to a high-shedding dog before the wheels broke. I saw replacements on ebay and videos on how to replace, but none for my exact machine, and I had to weigh ER copay from impaling my hand as I tried to pry things apart vs buying new. I got a new one with the lift-away feature and self-cleaning brushroll for $99 in a black Friday sale, and it's been heavily used so far a few years. I'd be going through bags like nobody's business with the amount of hair I vacuum up if my main vacuum was bagged.

Yeh best one I have found for pets especially cat hair, has to be the pet friendly Shark. Had mine for 5 years no which is the longest I have owned a vacuum cleaner, they normally burn out within 2 yrs but the Shark has proven to be the best

r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->
