Well I was trying to find something durable and consumer that fit your guidelines. There seems to be not much with good capacity and larger tanks until you get into more professional grade equipment which would also give you more part availability. Steam in these units I don’t find that effective really. I have a Clarke 12” machine that I use professionally but those now run like $1700 and it’s hard to justify for a consumer. I also have a shark messmaster whatever they call their units that I found at a discount store it works will it last probably not. It does the job for my small kitchen and cat hair and crumbs. But it’s not amazing.

I don't recommend shark. We bought it, it's alright, but we still use our corded shark for the heavy lifting.

Im gonna give my two cents. Dyson is a great brand. But i’ve had NOT a bad experience, just an annoying one. The cordless vacuums have the worst battery in a product i’ve ever had. They die by just doing one room. And we have 6 other rooms to do. Like make that make sense.. I switched to a corded shark. Same size i will say. Not the huge kind of vacuums. And my life is way better now. Never dies. I can finish all in 1 go

I've had two corded Sharks in the last 15 years and they are so fucking good for my heavy shedders, I cannot sing that brand's praises enough

It also picks up more than my old corded Shark (that I absolutely hated, but that’s neither here nor there I suppose) but people say corded is more powerful and I just think it really depends on what machine you’ve got with a battery and what machine you’ve got with a plug 🤷🏻

I had a Henry extra 5 years ago, it was fine. I replaced with a corded shark which has been better suction wise and has lasted 5 years but... I think it depends mainly on how much you want to care for it. For my shark I have the rollers to check, clean the housing, the anti hair wrap which eventually gets hair wrapped around it needs sorting. The dust collector needs washing out, the filter needs changing. Essentially it feels like there is always something than needs doing with it. With a Henry you just buy spare bags and stick them on, oh it's full changed the bag. Other than a quick wipe when he's grubby Henry will just keep going, no maintenance needed.
