If you’ve got two cats and a mix of floors, I wouldn’t overthink it, corded is still king for raw cleaning, especially for pet hair. Cordless has gotten really good, but once you’re dealing with stairs + a whole house, battery life and bin size start getting annoying fast. I was in a pretty similar situation and ended up going corded (Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV356E). The lift-away feature makes stairs way easier, and it actually pulls embedded hair out of rugs without needing multiple passes. Suction is just consistently stronger than most cordless options I tried. That said, if you *really* value convenience and quick daily cleanups, something like the Dyson V10 Absolute is solid, but think of it more as a supplement than your only vacuum for a house your size. TL;DR: * Deep cleaning + pets → go corded * Quick, convenient daily use → cordless * Best combo (if budget allows) = corded main + cheap cordless for touch-ups

Yep, I have 2 of these. There is great replacement parts support on Amazon and it is a very reasonable substitute for a professional backpack vacuum when you use the lift-off feature.

If you want a simple vac that will last you a view years just get a [Shark Navigator](https://amzn.to/4pTnl6x) off Amazon. It’s in your price range and will work great

This is what we have, I think ours is technically the upgraded "pro" version, but they're all basically the same. They've survived 3 corgis and a kid. Highly recommend.
