Shark UV540 Lift away. Swear by it so much I’ve converted 4 of my clients to them and they love it too.
Shark Navigator model UV540. Buy them refurbished on Amazon. I’ve convinced 6 of my clients to buy them (one being a former Miele fan) and they’ve never looked back. Hands down my favorite model, but most Sharks are great and affordable.
Brushroll does have a switch. On my uv440.
I also say shark. I got tge new one with the black light to show all the dirt and hair on the hard floors ans now I literally follow my dog around with it because I can see the trail of fur as she walks.
I bought a Costco Shark before I got my Kenmore DU3017. It completely died in 3 months with no indication of what had failed so I couldn't even troubleshoot it properly. I was putting off contacting Shark to use their warranty when my dad convinced me to just take it back to Costco even though it was theoretically past their 90 day electronics return policy. Sure enough Costco took it back, and I hope to never have to deal with a new Shark product ever again. Oddly enough my parents have a 2015 Shark NV501 that is still kicking, but that could be because they hate vacuuming and do it probably once every other month.
I got a (corded) handheld Shark last week. It has revealed that I am a pig who has been living in her own filth for 5 years.
Shark Lift Away, Navigator or professional series - all the way. If you’re looking for a lightweight, versatile and powerhouse suction. I have pets, it does the job. I’ve used Dyson, Hoover, Bissell and never looked back, got rid of the clunkers
I have the Shark Performance Lift-away. Best purchase that I ever made. I wish that I would have made the investment much sooner in life. It was gross to see how little my previous vacuum(s) was doing. It took probably 5 separate vacuuming sessions before I got everything up. It was less and less each time, but it was a lot lol.
The entire navigator line is complete garbage if you have any semblance of a mess to clean in your house. If you simply own a vacuum to put pretty lines into your carpet, its probably fine. If you actually want to clean with it for any period of time longer than a couple of months, its a waste. I've owned 3 in less than a year, and thats only because I just go exchange them for a new one every time they die on me. If I was paying for it, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. I'll never buy another one. I keep them clean, I try and keep the brush rolls clear (hard to do when you cant take the roll out or take the floor nozzle apart), i clean the filters. They're cheap bullshit and not worth as much as the box they come in.
