"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"I have one teenager who’s messy and a dog who sheds like it’s her job. It’s been a game changer."

"I like the bag. Our bagless vacuums always made a MESS cloud of dust when trying to empty them in the kitchen. I'd have to go outside, and it would still make a cloud all over me. This was easy, close the lid on the bag, lift it out, toss it in the trash, put a new one in. It holds more than I'd typically think, because unlike our bagless, the dirt all gets packed into the bag, it gets more dense. So it holds more than you would expect."

"We've neglected the hell out of it. It has 1555 hours on it with minimal maintenance. Ran it every night for 4 years or so. So I always thought these things were tanks. It still works"

"All the parts that will have tangled hair (like rollers, empty bin, rotating brushes, and wheels) are extremely easy to remove and clean, almost with no tools needed. I literally take only ten minutes to remove every dog hair inside the system."

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."

"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."

"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"it's a dream/works so well. ... I am shocked (kinda disgusted at times!) at how much it picks up."

"The other head without the spinner is fucking ridiculously strong. ... I cannot vacuum a rug with it because it sucks so hard. I have to hold one side down with my foot and pull away and it's still hard haha."

"3 dog's and 3 cats with all carpet. ... that thing fuckin rips. ... it works too good and everytime I use it I have to take scissors and cut the hair that's caught around the head in the brushes but it's not the vacuums fault I have a fucking hobby farm on a carpet sooo."

"getting stressed out about the whole process of plugging in, lifting, storing the giant Kirby and not vacuuming at all in the end."

"heavy as hell"

"You do NOT want a Kirby if you have stairs - trust me."

"I then bought the 3m model Navigator, which lasted a year before it stopped working completely ... and finally tried out the old faithful, base Navigator, didn 't even make it 6 months."

"I used it fairly gently for maybe a year or so then it bricked itself. ... It's just dead. ... Seems like poorly built garbage."

"There is so much weight on the bottom hinge that it eventually gives way. ... Don't expect longevity. ... It was broken by 2023. ... Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the Shark Lift Away models. They are absolutely terrible in longevity, being built with cheap plastic parts at the bottom hinges, which will break in a few years. ... It is very poorly designed in that section. ... Longevity is awful. ... The problem is the weight of the canister/motor on the bottom hinge in the lift-away and other similar designs. You'd expect they would have used metal hinges to take some 15 lbs of equipment weight on it. But when it finally broke, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic. The floor and carpet attachment are now useless."

"very heavy and cumbersome"

"That makes them clench down, and therefore makes them hard to push and pull on that type of carpet. ... it was very difficult to push on that carpet until I adjusted it."

"it ’s heavy, so it stays in the basement"

"Lately I think I more prefer the one with the brush roll that doesn't collect as much hair but the regular Navigator is good."

"Requires distilled or deionized water to prevent it from aerosolizing bacteria and minerals in very tiny droplets. ... You'll carry home 60 pounds of water a week costing $17.50 for the Levoit (if you're using one gallon of distilled water a day at $2.50/gallon)."

"Our Levoit was a headache the whole time between frequent cleaning"

"as did our levoit top fill."

I don't recommend shark. We bought it, it's alright, but we still use our corded shark for the heavy lifting.

I have 8 cats. I use a Shark Navigator. It vacuums up hair like crazy. Mine is 10+ years old, and vacuums just as well as it did the first time I used it. Also, Consumer Report rates high.

I prefer the shark navigator. I used to have a Dyson, then got a job as a cleaner and was supplied the vacuum, it was so good, when I quit, I went out and bought myself one

I have a Shark navigator that is the best non-canister vacuum I've ever had. It's lasted a long time for a budget vacuum.

I used to have the miele cx1 and while it is absolutely fantastic, the plastic parts are a let down. Now we have shark navigator and while bulky, it is incredible. So much suction power, big canister, lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.

I have a Shark Navigator like seemingly everyone here, and I couldn't be happier with it. It seems lightweight and not up to tough vacuuming, and I have five cats, but damn if it doesn't always do a spectacular job. It's also extremely easy to access and clean the filters, the brush, etc.

I'm telling you, that diagonal swivel motion changed my life. And yeah, the upholstery attachment is SO useful. I really just love that the whole machine is so light and easy to maneuver or clean, but it still like... really gets the pet stuff and dirt up pretty hardcore.

It also picks up more than my old corded Shark (that I absolutely hated, but that’s neither here nor there I suppose) but people say corded is more powerful and I just think it really depends on what machine you’ve got with a battery and what machine you’ve got with a plug 🤷🏻
