I've got a Shark (and a dog - she's double coated and when she blows her coat I could build a whole new dog out of it) and absolutely love it. Gets up so much stuff and is light enough to carry up and down the stairs. And being able to lift away and use one of the small attachments makes hoovering the stairs really easy too.

This one: https://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-anti-hair-wrap-upright-vacuum-cleaner-with-lift-away-pet-model-black-nz691uktdb-zidNZ691UKTDB (crying in not getting a Black Friday deal!!)

I agree with the elitism. And I'm a huge Shark fan. Have been for 15 years or so. My nv350 went on for 12 years....only died cause I dropped it down the stairs. I got two Sharks from Walmart on clearance, one for $85 (zu561) and one for $65 (nv360). Those two will probably last me the next 20 years. But I also have three cats and wanted to see what the hype was about. I found a two year old Sebo D4 Premium for basically $480. That is way more than I'd ever want to spend on a vacuum. I can afford it by all means but like you I could never justify it. The other side of me loves electronics and wanting the best of the best. And I do have to say.....the Sebo is incredible. Value is subjective so for me I do see a difference in the amount of dust and cat hair left over after a week of vacuuming with each. And the difference on carpet and what it pulls up. But its also a whole different ball game using a canister vacuum vs plugging in a vacuum and just going. Not having to worry about what suction level or head and attachment I'm using. So I do have some respect and awareness of the other side.

Same. When my Dyson kicked the bucket (Costco purchase) I went down a rabbit hole of researching vacuums. I landed on a shark with the feature of keeping hair from tangling in the roller - 3/4 of the people in my house have long hair. I honestly wonder how I ever liked my Dyson after using this one.

Corded Shark anti hair wrap with pet tool, don’t bother with a cordless. £170 direct from Shark with a free car tool kit.

Shark with the anti hair wrap is a game changer when you have a dog.

Shark brand units are top rated by consumer reports. I replaced two Dysons with a shark. Also bought a shark shampoo unit and won’t consider a Dyson anytime soon. Dyson isn’t even in the top ten on the CR lists.

Shark, hands down. Almost any model AS LONG AS it has the No-Hair Wrap Brush Roll. Even the cordless models have enough power now. I have one of those and a Shark Robot for the daily cleaning. Between two GSDs and one that never stops shedding, they keep up well. https://preview.redd.it/o466vndfdlgg1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d78653ef2d6558593a0c1d963b6f376329d33877

We got a shark anti hair wrap, we have a short haired greek hound who is making it his mission to cover every inch of my house in hair. It's the only one that got it up. We have a cordless for a quick run around, but the plug in is needed to properly get it up.
