No replies - so I went and bought the Shark PowerPro Plus Cordless Stick Vacuum. Very impressed so far - seems just about perfect for the job.

It's not bad. It fees noticeably cheaper than the older Shark model but it's doing the job. The lack of a brush roll is strange - in its place is a roll with rubber flaps and a very short haired brush at wide intervals so nothing can get stuck or tangled saving hours of detangling we did before. It's probably more of a sweeper machine. It fast and easy to use for general cleaning (and quick vacuuming of big swaths of golden retriever hair) and I can just let the robots come out at night to do the fine detail work.

Thank you. Unfortunately I had one of these a few years ago and it lost power very quickly. I wouldn't by one again.

I got this one recently Shark PowerPro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. £180. It's very good. Battery not amazing though. Argos ref **718/1692**

If you were to purchase one of these (which I wouldn’t recommend) it would be either the $149 one or the $175 one. Personally I would stretch to something like a shark power pro which should be under $300 on special although you will have to compromise on bin capacity.

I just got a Shark Pro direct cordless and it’s been a game changer. It goes from hard floor to rugs no problem and is lightweight, so easy to manoeuvre and can even get under the wardrobe etc, it doesn’t get my long hair tangled and gets around an hour on full charge. The battery comes off to charge and is easy to clip on/off. It’s about standard width at the bottom but for storage it folds in half so much easier to store than a normal upright.

Shark, hands down. Almost any model AS LONG AS it has the No-Hair Wrap Brush Roll. Even the cordless models have enough power now. I have one of those and a Shark Robot for the daily cleaning. Between two GSDs and one that never stops shedding, they keep up well. https://preview.redd.it/o466vndfdlgg1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d78653ef2d6558593a0c1d963b6f376329d33877

I have two, one is a cordless Shark hair thingy hoover and a Titan work hoover. The Shark hoover is merely for aesthetics as it always requires some kind of attention before using it and the Titan is the goto one to use because it's always ready to be used and I don't have to worry about the battery running out.
