Yall are probably gonna downvote me to hell, but before I knew this subreddit existed I got a Shark Rotator TruePet NV752 about two years ago and I really like it, especially because it can come apart in a canister configuration as well as upright. Two cats and it does the job well on my carpets.
r/VacuumCleaners • Budget Canister Vacuum Recommendations ->As someone with a shark i bought before stumbling onto this subreddit: I have a NV752 and love it, also have two cats and carpet. Its lasted since about 2020? As long as i cut the hair off the brush head once in a while and replace the filters, its worry-free.
r/VacuumCleaners • Is shark a good choice if I don't plan on repairing my vacuum? ->Never buy a Bissell. While their higher end models have excellent filtration (HEPA filters and sealed systems) the only problem is you can't wash them. Every Bissell I've had, I find if you wash their "washable" filters, they stink after. Like the exhaust will smell like wet musky dog. So it's best to replace them. Never had experience with Hoover. But both Bissell and Hoover are low quality compared to Shark, Dyson and Miele. Dysons offer great raw suction, however I don't care for the canisters. After a period of use, you'll have to clean those cyclones as they'll get full of dust. Also, they aren't that good on high pile carpeting or rugs (they're difficult to handle on high pile carpeting and they tend to get door rugs sucked up into the brush roll). I used to run Sharks. I actually collected a few. I had an old model I salvaged that worked good on carpets, I had one of the first powered lift aways. That was my all time favorite because it worked the best especially on carpets of all heights, not good on door rugs because the rug would get stuck in the brush roll due to the suction, did well on hard floors, not as good as their duo clean models. I had 2 different duo cleans (one powered lift away one not) you definitely want the powered lift away model. It'll clean under your beds unlike the regular lift away (I had the la500 that wasn't a powered lift away, I loved it. The power fins don't get hair tangles like a traditional brush roll and the duo clean cleaned my hard floors amazing, but the powered lift away I'd use to clean under beds) one of the best things about the power fins is vacuuming your mattress. If you've never done this, then I'd highly recommend the Shark Vertex or Stratos. You'll be absolutely disgusted at what it pulls out your mattress. I no longer use a bagless vacuum though. I recently had the privilege of salvaging a mid 90s Oreck. When I salvage and fix a vacuum, I always would test it on my carpet and see how it preforms against my Shark Nv752 and if they'd do well I'd keep them (sometimes I'd sell them if I didn't want it), well I used the Oreck first then went behind it with the Shark nv752 and the canister was empty. So I was disappointed my shark wasn't as good as a bagged vacuum. I bought a Kenmore Intuition and put it up against my nv752 and it also did better than the Shark. So I ended up selling 3 of my sharks and gave the 752 to my grandmother to replace her old shark nv501. She loves it and she says it's good enough for her needs and it worked better than her old one. The good thing about going to a good quality bagged vacuum is not having to clean the filters ever month and not having to dump the canister after every use. So far (after 4 months of having the Oreck and Kenmore), I rather the Oreck for carpets and I rather their HEPA bags because you get literally no smell. The Kenmore I find will have a bit of a smell after sitting up between uses. However I suck up some downy crystals every so often, but they make special odor elimination tablets for bagged vacuums. So they are pretty much low maintenance compared to bagless. Idk your budget, but if I were in your shoes, these are the exact 2 vacuums I'd recommend for you: the Shark AZ2002 Vertex (if you want bagless, comes with a crevice tool, dusting/upholstery tool and I do believe it comes with an air powered turbo tool) or the Kenmore 81615 (if you want bagged, it's a canister vacuum so it'll be lighter for you to handle and great accessories. It comes with a multi floor power head, a hard floor only attachment, crevice tool, dusting brush and a motorized mini brush roll - a motorized version of a turbo tool). Both would be great multi floor options, the advantage of the shark vertex is the power fins so no hair tangled brush roll, and it'll clean your mattress amazing, the advantage of the Kenmore is you have 2 floor cleaning tools so it'll be better of a multi surface cleaner and it has a motorized turbo tool instead of air powered compared to the Shark. If you want one for the shark you have to buy it separately for like 40- 50 dollars. Price wise, the Shark AZ2002 costs about $420, the Kenmore costs $312 (prices brand new on Amazon). Personally if I were you, I'd go with the Kenmore for the better accessories and slightly cheaper price. Plus no big box store sells them. You have to get it via Amazon or on the Kenmore website. I hope this info helps and sorry it was so much lol. Please let me know what you chose to get and I'd love to hear how it works for you
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for the Best Vacuum Cleaner that Actually Lasts? ->I think this is what we have and we’ve bought it three times in a row. They last about 15 months by that math running it a couple times a day
r/samoyeds • Ok fellow Samoyed owners, what vacuum do you use? ->Hey I’ve got a shark rotator lift away for like 350 I think. I’ve had my heeler for 7 years and that vac for the whole time. Works great
r/blueheelers • Vacuum Recommendations!! ->My NV352 lasted for over a decade and only was replaced because the HEPA cover broke and replacement wasn’t handy. I was not pumped about other ways to hold it together, and ultimately thought it’s probably time. The Shark Rotator replaced my 352 and it is a good replacement. Maybe a canister is better but my wife won’t use it, hates the Sebo (just pictures) and even though since I do most of the vacuuming i still have to consider her wants. She wanted/still wants a cordless, which we have a shark version and I refuse to buy another. I’ve replaced the battery on it to extend the life, but to buy the Dyson and see the battery issues they have is a non-starter. Shark for life and budget. I’m sure for $1200 the Miele is great but it’s hard for me to justify that to my cost conscious wife.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Robot vacuum. Run it every day. I also have a Shark Rotator for deep cleans.
r/torties • Vaccume cleaner suggestions SPECIFICALLY for pet hair? ->I ordered and returned a Shark Rotator from Amazon. I wasn't impressed at all. Replaced it with a Kenmore 600 canister. I had one before and it served me well. I was eyeballing a Sebo oe Miele canister but couldn't get myself to spend that much on a vacuum.
r/VacuumCleaners • An Honest Review - Sebo Felix Premium ->I was curious so I went to r/VacuumCleaners and they hate Shark. Apparently the brand isn't what it used to be and is cheap and gimmicky now. No idea which model it is that I have and hate but I just looked up the current Shark Rotator which is the one I love and it looks bulky and gimmicky as hell compared to mine. Might need to look elsewhere when it finally dies but I think it's about 10 years old now and seems like it's got plenty of life left.
r/internetparents • Internet Mom/Dad, what're the BEST vacuums overall? ->shark duel pet ain’t in here good. don’t buy it. terrible suction power and doesn’t do 2in1 job well
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We have 2 cats (used to have 3) and have used shark for years. We've had many sharks over the years. Specifically the lift away, power lift away, navigator I think it's called and then a rocket. Rocket died in like 3 years but the lift away lasted almost a decade. the power lift away can't remember but I think it lasted a few years. Navigator I can't remember lmfao. Currently we have a dirt devil "endura reach" I think it's called and a Kirby avalir. Both are pretty good. Endura reach has a pretty short cord tho. But most sharks or some have anti hair wrap technology on their brush rolls. That's already worth every penny if you've got cats. So I'd look at a shark if you've got pets. Hope this helps.
r/BuyItForLife • Best vacuum cleaner? ->I have a few Shark vacuums... powered lift away for big stuff and two ultracyclone pet pro hand vacuums for smaller stuff. I've tried others and my big one has been working well for over 10 years! The two hand vacuums, well I have two because the batteries don't last for long but they work well otherwise. Hence why I have two.
r/torties • Vaccume cleaner suggestions SPECIFICALLY for pet hair? ->I have a shark but I can't think of the model but I feel like it was specifically for pets. I have a long haired german shepherd, and it works well even with her fur. My last vacuum was regularly jammed by her fur.
r/dogs • Recommend me a vacum cleaner. (not robot vacum please) ->I’m in sort of of the same boat. My wife trains service dogs and we have 5 dogs (and 3 kids) in the house. Also, because 5 dogs, my back yard is a mud farm and everything is coated in a layer of dirt. We have a tinneco pure 1 (it’s a stick vacuum with a base compartment). We vacuum the main part of the house where the dogs are (living room, laundry, entry, kitchen dining room). The living room really is the place we vacuum, 3-4 times a day but everything listed gets hit at least once a day (maybe twice in rainy days). We decided that making vacuuming convenient was more important than doing it super well (cause let’s face it, it’s gonna be dirty again in 5 minutes) and reliability took a back seat to convenience. So for us convenience > reliability > performance. We didn’t think ANY vacuum would make our floors 100% clean, so we didn’t try. Just get them 80% and but clean often. Then we mop probably every day or every other day…..(why do we have this many dogs again?) THEN we keep a corded shark in the basement where we keep their kennels. The shark is 5 years old and it sucks up everything but it’s heavy, so it stays in the basement) we also use this one to vacuum their kennels. We found that doing some work on our yard and cleaning the dogs as they come in, helped a ton. We still haven’t found a great solution yet. I rambled a lot. If you have any questions or suggestions for us. Let me know.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Vacuum for a Stupid Amount of Dog Hair ->Shark Cordless (don’t remember model number but was great on hardwood, horrible on the rugs). We also tried variety if stains (cordless and corded) from friends and they all failed. Currently we’ve gone back to a 10+ year old corded shark that performs ok, not great. But very heavy and cumbersome. Main floor for house is 50/50 hardwoods and rugs. Rugs are thin bc they are all washable (pets). Upstairs is wall to wall carpet but gated off to keep pets downstairs. Budget…honestly anything at this point. I guess I’d like to keep it under $700 but at this point I really don’t even care. We haven’t tried any canisters, open to that is they aren’t too cumbersome, I have RA, so easy to maneuver is pretty important.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best vacuum for thin rugs and pet hair? ->I LOVE the Shark corded vacuum. Easiest to clean, switch out parts, consistent suction, power not limited by battery. Win-win!
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Get a Shark. So much better than a Dyson as a fraction of the cost and their attachments use synthetic bristles. We had a top of the range cordless Dyson and we’ve had multiple corded Dysons and they’ve all been terrible. This corded Shark one I’ve got now is amazing, most powerful vac I’ve ever used. In general I’d avoid cordless vacs unless you live in a tiny place, otherwise it won’t even clean your full house before it needs charging.
