"There is so much weight on the bottom hinge that it eventually gives way. ... Don't expect longevity. ... It was broken by 2023. ... Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the Shark Lift Away models. They are absolutely terrible in longevity, being built with cheap plastic parts at the bottom hinges, which will break in a few years. ... It is very poorly designed in that section. ... Longevity is awful. ... The problem is the weight of the canister/motor on the bottom hinge in the lift-away and other similar designs. You'd expect they would have used metal hinges to take some 15 lbs of equipment weight on it. But when it finally broke, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic. The floor and carpet attachment are now useless."
I have a corded Shark (Shark Rotator ZU632) and I love it - it does a great job with the hair from my dogs on wood, tile, high-pile carpet, and rugs. The only thing it struggles with is gravel, though it is over 4 years old at this point and I also hit it with my car once so the fact that it still works as well as it does is a miracle, honestly).
r/CleaningTips • Best vacuum for all floors, pet hair, and heavy duty use that is NOT bulky. ->I've had my shark rotator vacuum for 7 years and it still picks up like it did when it was new, with 2 long haired women, 3 dogs and 2 cats in the house.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I have the Shark Rotator and really like it. It’s the white one with red trim
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Hey I’ve got a shark rotator lift away for like 350 I think. I’ve had my heeler for 7 years and that vac for the whole time. Works great
r/blueheelers • Vacuum Recommendations!! ->Shark - I have a rotator lift away for years and years with a dog and cat.. loooooove it. [shark](https://www.sharkclean.ca/sharkca.product_categories.vacuums.upright_vacuums)
r/AskACanadian • Canadians, I need a vacuum recommendation. 😋 ->Buy a shark vacuum to start. I used to have this problem going through vacuum’s every year but I bought the shark rotator pro about 8 years ago. Everything but that cardboard filter is washable. Makes keeping everything smelling fresh and clean and the belt has never even broken. Wash the filters regularly and buy a new cardboard filter every couple months. After i wash the foam filter it smells like fresh laundry when i sweep. Lol. It’s worth the investment. That gets rid of the carpet smell being in the air. You will also be amazed at what the shark picks up after your old vacuum. When you clean the carpets try adding and enzyme treatment in the carpet cleaning water solution. I learned that from a big apartment building landlord. It actually removed the smell of animals on the carpets. You could just sprinkle a lil baking soda until then when you vacuum. You could also make a homemade essential oil spray.
r/CleaningTips • Non-powder carpet deodorizer that won’t bully my vacuum? ->All sharks have hoses and their suction power is better than Dyson IMO. But the one I like best is the shark rotater. It comes apart to glide under furniture, beds, etc. Does carpet and bare floors. Hope this helps
r/Cleaningandtidying • Where to find the best vacuum cleaner ->My NV352 lasted for over a decade and only was replaced because the HEPA cover broke and replacement wasn’t handy. I was not pumped about other ways to hold it together, and ultimately thought it’s probably time. The Shark Rotator replaced my 352 and it is a good replacement. Maybe a canister is better but my wife won’t use it, hates the Sebo (just pictures) and even though since I do most of the vacuuming i still have to consider her wants. She wanted/still wants a cordless, which we have a shark version and I refuse to buy another. I’ve replaced the battery on it to extend the life, but to buy the Dyson and see the battery issues they have is a non-starter. Shark for life and budget. I’m sure for $1200 the Miele is great but it’s hard for me to justify that to my cost conscious wife.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->My experience is similar but not fair. My brother has a Dyson battery powered and he swears by them. So he buys a new one every four years or so. We had our first coffee shark for at least ten years. I shopped for months last year between Dyson, shark, Mielle, and another he and like Mielle I cannot remember their name. Anyway, after using them all it came down to a formula from my Public policy class - I could get almost 90% of the performance from a shark for only $249, or spend $700 for 100%. I was willing to spend up to $1000 but it just didn’t make sense. Shark gets everything I need at a fraction of the cost.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Robot vacuum. Run it every day. I also have a Shark Rotator for deep cleans.
r/torties • Vaccume cleaner suggestions SPECIFICALLY for pet hair? ->I ordered and returned a Shark Rotator from Amazon. I wasn't impressed at all. Replaced it with a Kenmore 600 canister. I had one before and it served me well. I was eyeballing a Sebo oe Miele canister but couldn't get myself to spend that much on a vacuum.
