With 2 dogs and a cat I think a cordless won't do as good a job as one with a cord. I have 3 small dogs and my cordless needs to be dumped many times when doing the house. I like my shark rotator...I think it's called a "Tru pet" or something like that.
I actually clean houses for a living and my girl and I use the shark pro true pet rotator. We especially like the fact it has a light on the handle/wand. We've gone through maybe 4 different shark brands and this one is the best so far. Many of our clients have Shark brands so I've used a bunch of different types. We clean a minimum of 2 houses a day for each day of the work week. By and large, they each last roughly 2 years before the heads get "floppy" or the clips that hold the wand in begin to fail.
Shark - I have a rotator lift away for years and years with a dog and cat.. loooooove it. [shark](https://www.sharkclean.ca/sharkca.product_categories.vacuums.upright_vacuums)
I finally replaced my 10 year old shark rotator lift away last year- one of my kids was moving out and I figured rather than buy them a new one I would get myself a new one and pass that one on. I replaced it with a shark navigator the day before they moved and they were on their happy way with my well loved vacuum. I unboxed the navigator liftaway and halfway through the first room I hated it. It isn't heavy but you really have to push to get it to go the direction you want it to. And forget about trying to manuever it around a table leg. It cleans well so I forced myself to keep using it hoping it just needing to be worn in a bit. It didn't get better. Thankfully I have several kids close in age so I had an excuse to pawn this one off and get a different one this winter. I replaced it with the shark rotator pet lift away that I got from sams club. I am in love again. It is so easy to use on carpet and hard floors, turns smoothly, doesn't get hair tangled on the roller and is so light I can easily carry it between floors. It does have a narrower cleaning head than some but that makes it a bit easier to get under chairs and around furniture legs in my opinion. Bottom line- go for the rotator not the navigator :)

I have the Shark Rotator and really like it. It’s the white one with red trim
I have the shark red rotator lift away...or a several-years-old version of it. The thing is a BEAST. My mother happens to have the same one and she loves hers as well. I'm almost embarrassed to say I own two other shark vacuums, too. One is a mini vacuum that we use primarily for vacuuming cars or small spaces. I bet it's 15 years old, and good as new. The other is a cordless shark we bought about 2 years ago. While I do love the cordless, it works best for non-carpeted floors. The red lift-away is the real powerhouse for us...and I'm SOOOOOO glad we didn't impulsively get rid of it when we bought the cordless. The lift-away version is way more powerful and makes our cheap builder-grade carpet look brand-new every time we use it.
I've had my shark rotator vacuum for 7 years and it still picks up like it did when it was new, with 2 long haired women, 3 dogs and 2 cats in the house.
All sharks have hoses and their suction power is better than Dyson IMO. But the one I like best is the shark rotater. It comes apart to glide under furniture, beds, etc. Does carpet and bare floors. Hope this helps
I had a shark rotator then got the shark stratos pet xl. It has fins instead of bristles. The stratos did have less roller tangles, but the Rotator gets way more hair out of the carpet even though it is several years older.
