I really love my Shark Vertex, which is an older version of what you have shown there. Tons of power and works great on both hardfloors and carpet.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Shark Vacuum? ->If you’re still interested in bagless, you could get a shark corded vertex, last i checked they were 250 dollars on amazon. The corded powerdetect is their latest model of the same configuration and is 350 i believe. Amazing power, and it has a duoclean brushhead that works perfect on both carpet and tile (this way you don’t need to follow that silly flowchart). Vacuum wars youtube channel has great things to say about them.
r/VacuumCleaners • Recommendations for Bagged Vacuum with Brush Roll Switch ->I have the roborock Qrevo Pro (called the S5V now i think), and I really like its vacuum and mopping ability. I was able to ditch my old mop because of it, but you still need a powerful vacuum if you have carpets, because a robot can’t vacuum all that deep. That being said, I think you have conflicting requirements there, adhoc cleaning and deep cleaning. I think you should split the two. My adhoc cleaner is a small battery powered Shark vacuum that i spent 80 dollars on. Because it’s light and easy to use, I can carry it in my car for toddler spills and tracked in dirt. However, it’s not that powerful… For power and for deep cleaning, you want corded. My deep power cleaner is the Shark Vertex (latest model is called powerdetect). Buying two vacuums to fulfill these needs will also be cheaper/more effective than buying a single vacuum that covers both… because batteries (Especially ones from Dyson) are quite expensive.
r/VacuumCleaners • Cordless stick and robo-vacuum recommendations ->What’s popular here isn’t highly regarded by what I consider to be an expert vacuum reviewer (vacuum wars youtube channel). Everyone here like’s expensive old school vacuums with bags. I don’t think the vacuum head or attachment designs on those models are particularly useful, and they’re expensive. Personally, I like my bagless shark corded vertex (last i checked it was 250 on amazon, it’s the older version of the latest high model that I believe is called the power detect). It’s powerful, fully HEPA sealed, has a head that works on any floor type, easily configurable to be an upright or canister, and much cheaper than what others here love to talk about.
r/VacuumCleaners • Recommendations for carpet only vacuum? ->None of that is true. My bagless Shark has significantly more airflow than any miele or sebo (as tested by vacuum wars). Another nice thing with shark (or at least the high end model i have) is that their filters are truly washable. I only own a second set of filters so i can quickly swap between one set while the other dries. I’m at 3.5 years of use and neither set appears close to wearing out. I wash my filters just as, if not less often than a bagged owner has to switch out their bag. He’s an expert in my book, he actually demonstrates how all of the different vacuums out there perform in just about every scenario i could ever imagine, provides detailed performance metrics, and helps educate people. While durability is a subjective topic to touch on, my Shark seems to fit that bill just fine so far. I can repair any vacuum myself just fine - My last budget bissell vacuum lasted 11 years before upgrading it (it never failed on me, i simply wanted a feature upgrade), and i imagine this shark will last me at least just as long.
r/VacuumCleaners • Recommendations for carpet only vacuum? ->I have the Vertex (it’s an older version of one of their lift-aways) and love it. It’s easy to disassemble and put back together, and it’s only a few pieces. I believe their current flagship liftaway is the PowerDetect corded, just a slightly fancier version of the Vertex.
r/housekeeping • Small but good corded vacuums? ->I have a Shark canister vac that I love. It's like their 'most sold' one on Amazon. We've got a GSD/lab + a second GSD and a cat. It keeps up great. I've got area rugs+hardwood and it's great going back and forth. It's got a silicone brush roll instead of the old school bristles so I don't have to constantly cut the human hair out of it.
r/Dogowners • Vacuum Cleaner Recs for Dog Household ->I have a Shark and the canister is a good size and it worked awesome on pet hair and it’s like super light and generally they are much more cheaper.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Canister vacuum all the way. I used to have an old kenmore that I bought used. You need to get one with a power head for carpets and a hardfloor attachment. Or I have a shark now where the power head can be used for both. The only time this type of vacuum is a pain is when you are doing a house that's fully carpet, because it's a pull behind vacuum you need to kick it beind you as you exit the room.
r/housekeeping • What is the best TYPE of vacuum? ->We have a Dyson Animal and a Shark Canister style vacuum. We prefer the Shark. Suction is just as good as the Dyson and it’s infinitely more user friendly as far as the attachments and hose cleaning goes. Plus smaller head fits more places like under the bed. The Shark is just a better design.
r/homeowners • Best house vacuum ->Corded shark stick vac. Not as powerful but man they're easy to move around. I also have a more powerful shark that's a traditional canister. Not as easy to move around but the suction is noticeably stronger.
r/Pets • Looking for a vacuum cleaner for a cat household — need help! ->I have owned 2 Shark's now, the first one was an upright, and was quite good, but at 4 years and 11 months the hose split, and (thanks to the 5 year warranty) the retailer ended up giving a credit as Shark couldn't repair it or get parts (bit of a red flag) We then stuck with the stick vac for a while until a couple of years ago when we got another Shark, a bagless barrel vac with powered brush. It. Is. TERRIBLE. Not only does it not provide anywhere near enough suction, the rollers or hose clog at the drop of a hat, and the emptying system is sure to leave more dust on the floor than you can get off it with this vacuum. About a week ago, sick of going over and over the carpet, I finally dragged the cheapo $200 Karcher T 7/1 I use for car detailing in from the shed. With just the standard suction head (no brush at all), it managed to get dog and cat hair off the carpet that I thought was ingrained in it it had been there so long. It serioulsy looked like I had had the carpet steam cleaned. So, to answer your question, the best Shark to get is another brand. And on that note, does anyone have any good recommendations? Or should I just buy another Karcher for the house and have 2 the same... only downside I find is the 3 part plastic pipe feels a bit flimsy (Don't need this for cars)
r/VacuumCleaners • Which shark vacuum is the best for pets and carpets? ->Could be experience with the different lines. I love my Vertex, have had it for years and it's still great. I've told people to get it. My Rotator is disappointing in comparison. I wouldn't get another one.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->They are excellent vacuums for the money if you can find them on sale. I got the new Vertex for $150. I had my last Shark for five years and lost it in the divorce 😂.
r/VacuumCleaners • Does Shark still make a good vacuum ->They do make great surface level cleaners until the filters clog, but there's next to no deep cleaning ability, I daily drive a vertex because it's a good beater that can perform on carpet and hard floors but I also have a handful of good deep cleaners, currently I'm using a 5 amp Convertible
r/VacuumCleaners • Any good? ->I feel like with Sharks it really does depend on the model you get. I have had a couple that were just ok but my favorite one so far is the Shark Vertex. It is really powerful and great with dog hair. The rollers never clog. I’ve only had that one for 2 years but I’d buy it again.
r/housekeeping • Need your best vacuum recommendations ->Most of these guys are SEBO and Melile enthusiasts to say the least. They would also recommend these or a Kenmore bagged unit. I can see why too. I do wish they wouldn’t just straight downvote anything they didn’t agree with. If the Ryobi will be anything like the Dirt Devils, the filter is way undersized, and the way they are designed, the dirt and dust, anything vacuumed gets launched directly into the filter and quickly looses suction. When I say quickly, I mean super quickly. Like 20 mins or less of run time. I have a Shark Vertex, and it has little use on it. But it’s aged in dog years. The particulate filter has needed replacement. The HEPA filter seems ok still. The front brush roll is worn. The anti-tangle main roller works great! But the silicon flaps seem to be impregnated with fibers and have begun to wear very quickly too. I’ll be looking at a Kenmore 600 with a powered pet brush when the shark kicks the bucket or I can’t stand it anymore. Coming from someone who hates that stupid springy hose too! I also purchased a Dirt Devil Scorpion. I’ve mentioned the filter already… I’ve used it about 40-50 min total. The “flip over” attachment has broken, the clear plastic is showing stress marks from the powered brush roll being pushed back and forth. Can’t expect much for 30 dollars, but damn. Wish I wasn’t banging out the filter every 20 mins. Lol. I’m sure you’ll get some use from a Ryobi, but I don’t think it will be the best. I also don’t think you’ll have the best experience with it. You probably could edit your post to say what your use case would be. Carpet, upholstery, stairs, tile, hardwood. Pets?no pets? That way these guys can help you better.
r/VacuumCleaners • Wondering if anyone here has experience or knows of the Ryobi ONE+ Stick Vacuums and could help with advice on if I should get one or not, Ryobi tools have held up for quite a while and one of my favorite brands here in Australia. (I hate the pull along canister vacuums) ->Seems like you’re looking for a vacuum with pets? Still haven’t upgraded here, but looking at the Kenmore 600 or Kenmore 81714 here. This sub convinced me to go back to bagged. Coming from a Shark Vertex. About 60% tile and 40 percent deep pile carpet. Main issue right now is the couches and a Belgian Mal. Hard to get the hair off. A powered upholstry brush roller is what I’m looking for.
r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum Recs Under $300, Shark? Dyson? Others? ->More hygienic. You throw mostly everything away. The pre-filter on the Shark is washable, so that’s good. But most people neglect it. I’ve washed it once and replaced it once. The main HVAC filter has been replaced once as well. They get caked with dust and suction decreases pretty fast. My main 2 gripes are that the main roller anti-tangle “flaps” are wearing down and replacement parts aren’t available and suction does taper off pretty fast once the filters get plugged up. Which is a lot faster than you think.
r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum Recs Under $300, Shark? Dyson? Others? ->Check out VacuumWars on YouTube for reviews. He uses really objective testing. My recommendation is the shark Apex/Vertex/Stratos duo clean zero m. It has a little comb inside that basically stops all hair tangles around the roller and it has two rollers- a soft roller for hard floors and a brush for carpet. It can be lifted off for handheld use. It's a 10/10. The Apex is the original model, there's now the Vertex and I think Stratos But you're more likely to find the apex on sale. This isn't a super cheap vacuum but it isn't outrageous either. It also has great filtration.
r/internetparents • Internet Mom/Dad, what're the BEST vacuums overall? ->No, shark with duo clean and powerfins or whatever they’re now calling the hair cleaning spikes are the best
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I had to look it up, that's actually the one I have, CU530, mine is gray. I thought I got a deal when I got mine for $100, WOW!! Good find! I got it as a replacement for one of the full size power fin duo clean models, I actually liked that one way better especially for hard flooring. I was careless and got too close to the edge of a blanket, which wrapped around the front roller and snapped all the gears like, the second time I used it. I would have fixed it honestly, but the whole thing was riveted together so I couldn't. I was slightly unethical and returned it to the store, told them it simply made an awful sound and stopped working 😂. They didn't have the same one since it was clearance, so I chose one closest in price for the exchange. I do use my Windsor/Sebo more just because the cord is longer and I can go under stuff easier, and it filters better, and it's wider. I also find the hose lighter and more manageable to use and I like the attachment for furniture better. That particular shark, the exhaust blows straight up into my face and it bothers my eyes too much to use it for long (I stick an envelope in there to deflect it, lol). I have a dog, 2 cats, thick carpet in most of the rooms, and allergies lol, we pretty much sweep daily or every other day. My mom actually Can't sweep anymore, her back is too bad and she can't see the floor. Her dog has long fluffy hair and sheds ridiculously and her and my dad drop EVERYTHING on the floor. I got her one of those powerfin sharks (which I now use when I go help out at their house) and it still impresses me with how much it pulls up from the carpeting there.
r/VacuumCleaners • Consumer Reports - Best vacuums of 2025 list has two bagged vacuums ->Same. When my Dyson kicked the bucket (Costco purchase) I went down a rabbit hole of researching vacuums. I landed on a shark with the feature of keeping hair from tangling in the roller - 3/4 of the people in my house have long hair. I honestly wonder how I ever liked my Dyson after using this one.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I love, love, love my Shark. I bought it because it claimed that the roller brush was self cleaning and it's true. No hair ever, ever has gotten wrapped around the roller brush in the 5+ years that I've had my Shark. My previous vacuum (not a Shark) every month I had to use scissors and/or sharp knife to cut the hair off the roller brush but never once with my Shark. I love it. Best money I ever spent and it wasn't even an expensive vacuum.
r/Frugal • Anyone found the best vacuum for pet hair for small apartments on a tight budget? ->I have a Shark (don’t remember the model) but it has these “power fins” instead of brushes and they never get tangled with anything.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuum for long hair ->Forgot to add, it was just under $500 so it’s not a budget vacuum. The suction is next level. I love it so much.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuum for long hair ->I don't recommend shark. We bought it, it's alright, but we still use our corded shark for the heavy lifting.
r/AskUK • What cordless vacuum cleaners are actually worth buying, but don’t break the bank? ->Corded Shark, I got my second one after 10 years. We have dogs, cats and kids. It does very well, would recommend.
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->I have a corded Shark. It sucks... but in a good way.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->It also picks up more than my old corded Shark (that I absolutely hated, but that’s neither here nor there I suppose) but people say corded is more powerful and I just think it really depends on what machine you’ve got with a battery and what machine you’ve got with a plug 🤷🏻
r/VacuumCleaners • best cordless vacuum that actually has strong suction? ->I had a Henry extra 5 years ago, it was fine. I replaced with a corded shark which has been better suction wise and has lasted 5 years but... I think it depends mainly on how much you want to care for it. For my shark I have the rollers to check, clean the housing, the anti hair wrap which eventually gets hair wrapped around it needs sorting. The dust collector needs washing out, the filter needs changing. Essentially it feels like there is always something than needs doing with it. With a Henry you just buy spare bags and stick them on, oh it's full changed the bag. Other than a quick wipe when he's grubby Henry will just keep going, no maintenance needed.
r/AskUK • Which hoover would you choose and why? ->You may get different answers, but I don't think so. I've got a shark now, and don't find it works any differently than my old dyson, and it was quite a bit cheaper. I prefer corded models though, so not sure about other models.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I’m in sort of of the same boat. My wife trains service dogs and we have 5 dogs (and 3 kids) in the house. Also, because 5 dogs, my back yard is a mud farm and everything is coated in a layer of dirt. We have a tinneco pure 1 (it’s a stick vacuum with a base compartment). We vacuum the main part of the house where the dogs are (living room, laundry, entry, kitchen dining room). The living room really is the place we vacuum, 3-4 times a day but everything listed gets hit at least once a day (maybe twice in rainy days). We decided that making vacuuming convenient was more important than doing it super well (cause let’s face it, it’s gonna be dirty again in 5 minutes) and reliability took a back seat to convenience. So for us convenience > reliability > performance. We didn’t think ANY vacuum would make our floors 100% clean, so we didn’t try. Just get them 80% and but clean often. Then we mop probably every day or every other day…..(why do we have this many dogs again?) THEN we keep a corded shark in the basement where we keep their kennels. The shark is 5 years old and it sucks up everything but it’s heavy, so it stays in the basement) we also use this one to vacuum their kennels. We found that doing some work on our yard and cleaning the dogs as they come in, helped a ton. We still haven’t found a great solution yet. I rambled a lot. If you have any questions or suggestions for us. Let me know.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Vacuum for a Stupid Amount of Dog Hair ->Got one. Thought it was pretty good. Suction started getting worse and worse. Had to replace dust door gasket. Paper filter became uncleanable after a while. After many complaints my ex finally went and bought a cheap ass Shark corded vac that was very similar. Difference was dramatic. Shark got lots of crap Ryobi couldn’t handle. This happened over about two years so it probably worked ok out of the box.
r/ryobi • Any opinions on this Vacuum? ->I have a shark corded for a few years now. Very happy with it. Just make sure you clean the filters regularly and maintain it and they're fantastic, same goes for most vacuums ,most go to shite cos people don't maintain them properly
r/AskIreland • Best vacuum cleaner under €200? ->I've had two Ryobi stick vacs for several years. I don't know whether the design has changed, but the part on the end of the brush is plastic, and as it spins it generates heat and starts to melt, and then gets noisy and smelly. I only feel safe using it for several minutes at a time. I have two precisely because they sent me another one when the first one had this problem. I feel like I may have replaced the head a second time already. Would NOT buy again. I love my corded Shark.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I just got a shark for my new apartment, but when we actually get a house we'll probably go with a sebo. Finally did upgrade to a corded though, lol.
r/VacuumCleaners • Bought a Shark and it’s incredible!! ->Yeah my corded Shark is a beast! It’s been going strong for many years now. Longest I’ve ever owned a vacuum cleaner.
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->My experience is similar but not fair. My brother has a Dyson battery powered and he swears by them. So he buys a new one every four years or so. We had our first coffee shark for at least ten years. I shopped for months last year between Dyson, shark, Mielle, and another he and like Mielle I cannot remember their name. Anyway, after using them all it came down to a formula from my Public policy class - I could get almost 90% of the performance from a shark for only $249, or spend $700 for 100%. I was willing to spend up to $1000 but it just didn’t make sense. Shark gets everything I need at a fraction of the cost.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Shark Cordless (don’t remember model number but was great on hardwood, horrible on the rugs). We also tried variety if stains (cordless and corded) from friends and they all failed. Currently we’ve gone back to a 10+ year old corded shark that performs ok, not great. But very heavy and cumbersome. Main floor for house is 50/50 hardwoods and rugs. Rugs are thin bc they are all washable (pets). Upstairs is wall to wall carpet but gated off to keep pets downstairs. Budget…honestly anything at this point. I guess I’d like to keep it under $700 but at this point I really don’t even care. We haven’t tried any canisters, open to that is they aren’t too cumbersome, I have RA, so easy to maneuver is pretty important.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best vacuum for thin rugs and pet hair? ->I have a corded shark vacuum that you can get at Walmart for a good price
r/housekeeping • What is the best TYPE of vacuum? ->I love my corded Shark vacuum. I just bought a new one after the one I had for 8yrs broke. Tho old one still works but the hose finally cracked. I could have rigged it with tape but I honestly wanted an excuse to buy another lol
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I also got the corded one and I love it.
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->Everyone here saying they love their LG CordZero but I can’t stand mine. But then again I haven’t had anything to compare to in the cordless stick vacuums area. My simple Shark corded vacuum I use on carpets is just so much better and easier to use. But it’s not as convenient as the cordless sticks. I was about to buy a Dyson V10 from Costco that’s on sale for $399. Maybe I’ll reconsider
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Cordless Stick Vacuum To Buy? ->I love my shark! It's been great with 2 dogs & 1 cat. Mine is corded and I will never go back to cordless. I vacuumed 3 times when I first got it because it was just filling up, I was so embarrassed.
r/Pets • Best vacuum for pet hair? ->I've always found them to be hype. Used to have a Dyson corded that I got from my dad second hand. it was good, until I decided to replace it with a Shark corded. The first time I used the shark, you'd have thought I'd never hoovered the carpet, honestly the amount of engrained hair and dust it pulled out was insane in comparison to the Dyson which looked like it was doing a good job, it's not that it didn't pick anything up but I would say the recovery rate was probably 65% in comparison to the shark. I then bought the shark stick handheld and was using that but when I split with my ex it stayed at the house. My new partner has a Dyson V8 and it's crap in comparison, there is stuff I know my shark would of picked up easily and the Dyson struggles. I also have a V7 my dad gave me which I just replaced the battery on as that had got to the point where it would only run for 30seconds before switching off so will see how it is with the new battery but tbh don't hold high hopes.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I LOVE the Shark corded vacuum. Easiest to clean, switch out parts, consistent suction, power not limited by battery. Win-win!
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I had a Henry's for almost 20 years. The best hoover handsdown..cheap to fix, parts are accessible...but.... it's so damn bulky to store. I've got a shark now corded one and a cordless for upstairs. Corded one is excelled. Great suction, easy to clean, bit heavy at times as I have arthritis in my wrists. But I love it.
r/AskUK • Which hoover would you choose and why? ->I have both. We live on a small farm with kids and a dog so lots of vacuuming! We use the cordless stick for quick messes like crumbs or dog hair and then the Shark corded for regular twice a week vacuuming. With the Shark make sure you clean the air filter every couple weeks or it starts to lose alot of suction. I actually have a rainbow vacuum too that I had previous to any of the others but it's so heavy and burdensome I rarely use it.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->Buying the upper range of Shark corded is definitely better. I've owned both. I like Dyson stick vacuum products but wouldn't own one as my primary vacuum in a large residence. In a smaller residence with no pets I could see a great argument for a primary stick vacuum and a shop vac backup for glass breaks.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Really like the dyson cordless! Didnt buy the fanciest. Bought a shark corded and absolutely hate it after using the other.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->We’ve got a corded shark and it’s amazing and has lasted 5 years and still going strong. We also have a Dyson but feel the shark cleans the carpets better
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->I bought a corded shark to replace an aging Dyson animal and it was way better, just the bog standard £120 lift away one.
r/UKFrugal • Vacuum Cleaner ->Same with me. Had a cord break but had been running great until then. Replaced it with another Shark
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Shark is a good brand and offer discounts but if you want power, it's Henry. Going from cordless to a corded vacuum was a pain in the @$$. Be mindful of tripping over cables etc. doing stairs etc (where the Shark will come in handy).
r/AskUK • Which hoover would you choose and why? ->I have a Dyson V10 cordless. I had a shark cordless forget the name but it was the top range 2-3 years ago, and that was better then the Dyson. I have now got a shark corded vacuum, going back to corded was and unbelievably eye turning move, I will never get a battery vac again unless it's a robot vacuum, but I can highly recommend shark in general, but I would recommend corded over battery as the power difference and pickup on high pile carpet is much better
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->I second this. We have a corded shark and it is great. We bought the LG chargeable vac and it was awful. Wouldn't pick up the litter at all.
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I recently went from a corded shark vacuum to a Dyson stick (Lower end, I think V8 pet model) and the Dyson definitely struggles to keep up unless I am on it every day. I have a Labrador and a cat so there’s a lot of hair. https://preview.redd.it/m2do3nvst8ff1.png?width=1606&format=png&auto=webp&s=09fba33ea42170aba03a9c4c523cce7cd5f81cd4
