"The self cleaning brush rolls with the built-in combs to keep hair and fluff off ARE legit too, and actually do work very well for that purpose."

"There is so much weight on the bottom hinge that it eventually gives way. ... Don't expect longevity. ... It was broken by 2023. ... Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the Shark Lift Away models. They are absolutely terrible in longevity, being built with cheap plastic parts at the bottom hinges, which will break in a few years. ... It is very poorly designed in that section. ... Longevity is awful. ... The problem is the weight of the canister/motor on the bottom hinge in the lift-away and other similar designs. You'd expect they would have used metal hinges to take some 15 lbs of equipment weight on it. But when it finally broke, I was shocked to see that it was all plastic. The floor and carpet attachment are now useless."
"the latch broke so front brush roll won't stay in"

"the main roller anti-tangle “flaps” are wearing down and replacement parts aren’t available"
"the rollers are a little hard to clean ... mine do 💀"
"the actual vacuum was a dumpster file. ... Didn’t last a year."

"suction does taper off pretty fast once the filters get plugged up. Which is a lot faster than you think."
"and they don't filter dust particles nearly as well (I have to wear contacts to see and they are dirt magnets, so I tend to really notice that)"
Got this one recently based off of recommendations from another thread for vacuums that were great with pet hair clean up and it's working amazingly! "Shark Vertex DuoClean PowerFins Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Self-Cleaning Brushroll, AZ1500WM"
r/blueheelers • Vacuum Recommendations!! ->This is the correct answer, the cleaning power of this model is incredible
r/blueheelers • Vacuum Recommendations!! ->Shark- vertex DuoClean PowerFin Upright Vacuum with powered lift away. Hasn’t died yet and it gets abused. Also weekly brushing helps a lot.
r/roughcollies • Vacuum suggestions? (the fur never ends) ->My shark vertix has lasted 5x as long as any of the Dyson's I have owned. As far as suction and filtration it's equal if not better. The price was also MUCH lower. Anecdotal, sure. But what is not anecdotal? The price difference.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->Added context from a different perspective. I had a similar strategy with 2 long hair cats. The stick vacuum was great, but it wasn't keeping up. It could get the hair on top, but the rest slowly grounded deeper. We just purchased the Shark Vertex Duo clean, and it's been incredible. The stick vacuum is used more often, but the shark is a much faster clean time than what we were doing. I'm not kidding when I say that we used the furniture fur felt cleaner on the carpet before we tried the shark. The vacuum filled the container with what was remaining after the cleaning by hand. I can't speak to the longevity, just the quality of the clean with the duo rollers.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum Recommendations- Pet Hair & Mixed Floors ->Owned Dyson DC07 for 3 years. Small canister, constant clogs, half dozen fiddly covers and latches to remove for clearing a clog. Switching to hose was a real chore, dumb design. Shark Vertex Duoclean, 1yr 7mo so far. Good power, great design, canister lifts away so the vacuum can go under furniture, switch to hose with a button press. Single door for cleanout. Kirby G4, 30 years so far, handed down from parents. Ultimate power, ultimate weight. Suck the dimples off a golf ball, never a clog. Bulky, heavy, indestructible. Switch to hose is a bit clumsy. You can get a used G3 or G4 on marketplace or Craigslist and have no concerns about it lasting decades. TLDR: Shark Duoclean for lightweight day to day. Kirby for monthly "deep cleaning".
r/greatpyrenees • Please help me with a quality (dog hair) vacuum recommendation ->I have an earlier version of the Shark PowerDetect (the corded Vertex). It’s an awesome vacuum, the vacuum wars youtube channel even has great things about it. That being said, it’s bagless, and most people who buy bagless vacuums never clean their filters properly. When they don’t, the vacuums break, and then people think it’s the brand that’s the problem…
r/VacuumCleaners • Consumer Reports Reviews of Vacuum Cleaners ->I really love my Shark Vertex, which is an older version of what you have shown there. Tons of power and works great on both hardfloors and carpet.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Shark Vacuum? ->If you’re still interested in bagless, you could get a shark corded vertex, last i checked they were 250 dollars on amazon. The corded powerdetect is their latest model of the same configuration and is 350 i believe. Amazing power, and it has a duoclean brushhead that works perfect on both carpet and tile (this way you don’t need to follow that silly flowchart). Vacuum wars youtube channel has great things to say about them.
r/VacuumCleaners • Recommendations for Bagged Vacuum with Brush Roll Switch ->I have the roborock Qrevo Pro (called the S5V now i think), and I really like its vacuum and mopping ability. I was able to ditch my old mop because of it, but you still need a powerful vacuum if you have carpets, because a robot can’t vacuum all that deep. That being said, I think you have conflicting requirements there, adhoc cleaning and deep cleaning. I think you should split the two. My adhoc cleaner is a small battery powered Shark vacuum that i spent 80 dollars on. Because it’s light and easy to use, I can carry it in my car for toddler spills and tracked in dirt. However, it’s not that powerful… For power and for deep cleaning, you want corded. My deep power cleaner is the Shark Vertex (latest model is called powerdetect). Buying two vacuums to fulfill these needs will also be cheaper/more effective than buying a single vacuum that covers both… because batteries (Especially ones from Dyson) are quite expensive.
r/VacuumCleaners • Cordless stick and robo-vacuum recommendations ->Shark lift-aways are super powerful/affordable/flexible, and awesome if you don’t mind a little extra vacuum cleaning (it’s bagless).
r/housekeeping • Small but good corded vacuums? ->I have the Vertex (it’s an older version of one of their lift-aways) and love it. It’s easy to disassemble and put back together, and it’s only a few pieces. I believe their current flagship liftaway is the PowerDetect corded, just a slightly fancier version of the Vertex.
r/housekeeping • Small but good corded vacuums? ->They are excellent vacuums for the money if you can find them on sale. I got the new Vertex for $150. I had my last Shark for five years and lost it in the divorce 😂.
r/VacuumCleaners • Does Shark still make a good vacuum ->They do make great surface level cleaners until the filters clog, but there's next to no deep cleaning ability, I daily drive a vertex because it's a good beater that can perform on carpet and hard floors but I also have a handful of good deep cleaners, currently I'm using a 5 amp Convertible
r/VacuumCleaners • Any good? ->I feel like with Sharks it really does depend on the model you get. I have had a couple that were just ok but my favorite one so far is the Shark Vertex. It is really powerful and great with dog hair. The rollers never clog. I’ve only had that one for 2 years but I’d buy it again.
