r/VacuumCleanersWhat is the Best Cordless Vacuum Cleaner now?

For dog hair and mixed floors, battery life matters more than fancy attachments. I’ve been on a Shark IZ462H for a couple years and it still runs great - good suction on carpet and hardwood. Not the cheapest, but totally worth it if you don’t want to replace it in a year

Or have both! I have a very nice canister vac but like you hated vacuuming so much that I'd only ever do it once every couple of months. It got gross. So I bought a shark vertex cordless which is maybe not as good at vacuuming but easier enough to use that I'm vacuuming once or twice per week. And I'll still pour myself a stiff drink and do a Big Vacuum with the good corded one two or three times a year for a deep clean. This works; weekly weakly vacuuming plus seasonal deep vacuum keeps my floors significantly cleaner than daily sweeping plus monthly deep vacuum.

r/VacuumCleanersWhich is the best cordless vacuum that actually has good suction?

I have several vacuums and I handpick Riccar just from 25 years of cleaning professionally, it’s hands down the best and takes a beating and still has superior suction, etc…. But I also have 2 cordless Dyson. I bought the first one a couple years ago and I bought a new d8 for like 250 bucks bc it was an older model. It’s still a beast. I own a sebo upright, it’s a fantastic vacuum and I own a shark Rocket (corded) I got it brand new out of a big lots dumpster, they threw away all the display vacs (my lucky day) I love the rocket, it’s light weight and has great suction, the only downside is the canister isn’t big enough. My old partner bought a shark vertex duoclean cordless vac a couple years ago. It did great when we would remember to charge the batteries… until it broke where it folds in half…. The thing about some of the shark vacuums is they are completely all plastic and as long as you are just using one to do basic cleaning just in your own home, they will do the trick….. it’s just not ideal for cleaners to haul around and use several hours daily. And to each their own, I hate and never cared for a Kirby,,never will…. But I’ve had clients that love them so much that it’s all I can use on their flooring, doesn’t mean I have to use one on my own flooring …. Good Luck OP Ps. They have brand new Dyson v8 at target 279$ Lowes has the Dyson d11 349$ fits your budget OP😉

With no stairs and carpet to think about, corded may be better as you can’t match the power on carpet and you don’t have to worry about dragging it up and down stairs. I highly recommend Miele as a brand, mine is prehistoric and still going strong, similar levels of inconvenience as a Henry. However for me, it’s such a pain in the arse to get it out that 90% of the time I use my folding rechargeable Shark and absolutely love it. I highly recommend shopping second hand, particularly if going for cordless as there’s no battery degradation to worry about, though I inherited my Shark second hand and it’s still stellar. If you’re worried about faults, Shark do say they have a five year guarantee and buying on credit card will give you Section 75 protection on the off chance they don’t honour it. Shark also have 4.2% cashback on TopCashback right now as a potential extra little saving.

r/CatAdviceCan someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?!

Shark. The one that’s for pets with two roller. It’s a beast. I have a golden retriever, a lab mix and a cat. I brush everybody every day but still my vacuum fills the huge canister every other day!

My shark vertix has lasted 5x as long as any of the Dyson's I have owned. As far as suction and filtration it's equal if not better. The price was also MUCH lower. Anecdotal, sure. But what is not anecdotal? The price difference.

Owned Dyson DC07 for 3 years. Small canister, constant clogs, half dozen fiddly covers and latches to remove for clearing a clog. Switching to hose was a real chore, dumb design. Shark Vertex Duoclean, 1yr 7mo so far. Good power, great design, canister lifts away so the vacuum can go under furniture, switch to hose with a button press. Single door for cleanout. Kirby G4, 30 years so far, handed down from parents. Ultimate power, ultimate weight. Suck the dimples off a golf ball, never a clog. Bulky, heavy, indestructible. Switch to hose is a bit clumsy. You can get a used G3 or G4 on marketplace or Craigslist and have no concerns about it lasting decades. TLDR: Shark Duoclean for lightweight day to day. Kirby for monthly "deep cleaning".

I had a Henry in the past and currently have a Shark. The henry was good but if you wanted to use the brushes on the head to lift up the carpet pile it can be quite hard work. It was also bulky and took up a lot of room in the under-stairs cupboard. The shark we have now is cordless and is decent and I enjoy using it. It has the head with the power-fins on it rather than a spinning brush. With this design I think it's better for hard floors rather than carpet. The fins don't do a good job of lifting the carpet pile. Without any weight keeping the head down, the head wobbles up and down if you drag the cleaner back against the direction of the pile.

After my second Dyson died I decided to try a Shark Vertex. Holy cow! The suction on this thing is scary good. Only complaint is that when I use the wand it wants to tip over.

Shark Vertex Pet. Two 30lb corgis and a 65lb Husky. I have had it for 4 years and it's handled all of it.
