Yea, I heard the r25 had lots of issues. Last time I was at my dealer I saw a riccar Prima canister floor model they were selling but they told me they didn't really sell well with the Miele and Sebo now being more dominant when it comes to canisters. Doesn't surprise me. I have an R20UP and a Simplicity S10 Freedom. Those were good machines

Something like the Simplicity Freedom is probably the only cordless with actual carpet cleaning power.

The Simplicity Freedom is the deepest cleaning cordless.

"Good decision cuz the latest cordless models are catching up power wise. But ofc for everyday home use especially with a toddler and a golden retriever, it will be less about wattage and more about how it handles real mess. I’d look at the [Simplicity Cordless]( https://brandbeacondeal.github.io/Afford/?to=best_cordless_vacuum). It’s one of the few cordless uprights that’s bagged and can stand on its own. The brushroll adjusts automatically between carpet and hard floors which is great since you're 50/50 like me. And since it’s a bagged HEPA system, it will actually traps pet fluff and dander. Battery replacements will always be a thing with cordless but unless you're vacuuming for hours a day, this lasts long enough to do a solid clean without stressing. You're also not dealing with the usual stick vac issue where all the weight is in your wrist and you have to lean it against furniture every 5 mins. "

Most cordless stick vacuums don't deep clean carpets very well. They lack the suction power and agitation, but some battery powered versions of upright vacuums can clean carpets pretty well if you are willing to sacrifice a hose and tools. The Simplicity Freedom Cordless $522 is a lightweight vacuum like an Oreck. The Freedom is battery powered and uses large hepa bags. Just like an Oreck the Freedom has no hose or tools. Other corded options are the Karcher Ranger $212 and Tornado CK ULW 13/1 $299. The Karcher Ranger is made by Sebo and it has real carpet height adjustment. The Tornado CK ULW is a corded version of the Simplicity Freedom. I'm suggesting these options because they are so lightweight and they 25 and 30 ft of cord that they are very easy to use. When I use my corded Simplicity Freedom it's so easy and light I start vacuuming other rooms I didn't intend to. Another plus of a lightweight corded vacuum is you don't have to remember to charge the battery and they cost a lot less than a cordless vacuum.

I have no opinion on cordless vacuums. Although I do have a very nice simplicity freedom cordless, that I picked up and seem to like that machine for the quickie. Otherwise I stick with my corded vacs.

I would check out the Simplicity upright vacuum. It’s $288. I have almost all carpet and 2 Labrador retrievers and it does really well. I’d love a Sebo or a Miele but it’s just not in the budget. The simplicity is a great lower priced option. Highly recommend!

I have tile in all bathrooms and in the kitchen/dining area and find it to be just as great as it is on the carpet. I just lower the brush height setting to the lowest one. I don’t experience any blow back like some vacuums have on hard flooring. The only “negative” I can say about the simplicity is the brush roll never turns off, even when using the hose. It’s annoying but I don’t find it to be that big of a deal tho.. I just tilt the vacuum a little so the brush isn’t beating on the carpet while using the hose/wand for a few things.

Simplicity is a great less expensive upright option. Mine is at least 13 years old and has made a cross-country move twice.
