I think you're looking for an upright or stick vacuum compared to your Miele C1 Canister as most canisters have suction only floor brushes but most uprights has a spinning brushroll but there are a few. 1. [Simplicity Spiffy S60](https://www.simplicityvac.com/s60) $129. This is a corded stick vacuum with a suction only floor head, it has no brushes or bristles but it has a squeegee on the rear. It has 2 power levels. It is probably the most readily available of this list, many vacuum stores that sell Simplicity & Riccar will sell this. However it is bagless so it isn't good for allergies and it will require washing the filter regularly. It is light, easy to use, I had one for several years before giving it to a cousin. It has a long cord and it is powerful, I would use high for hard floors but I would usually use low for rugs and carpets so it doesn't get stuck. It comes with a crevice tool but it's not easy to take the floor head off and the upper handle isn't removable so it's not a good hand vacuum and the crevice tool is pointless. 2. [BISSELL BigGreen Commercial BGSV6000T Hercules Slim](https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-BigGreen-Commercial-BGSV6000T-Hercules/dp/B00LIQB3SI?gQT=1) $100. This is rare dinosaur, it's a corded stick vacuum with disposable bags! The Hercules Slim name was dropped on some of the newer editions, and this vacuum might be discontinued. I haven't used this vacuum but based on the simple and efficient design it has strong suction and 2 power levels. The Bissell Commerical version has a nice long cord. It also has 2 tools but similarly since you can't remove the upper handle I would rarely use the crevice and upholstery tool. Bissell Commercial still sells the bags 10 pack for $14, I'd buy 3 packs and they might outlast the vacuum. One downside is this Bissell does not stand up on it's own, the Simplicity Spiffy does stand up on it's own. 3. [Lindhaus Valzer Eco Green](https://classicvac.com/lindhaus-valzer-eco-green/?srsltid=AfmBOopuxqO3m8UwOvarQIROL6bLb7hrYrJhHjnr-BrH_9ofDYXlGC-k) $749. This is a slimmer full size upright vacuum. It is powerful and uses bags. It comes with a carpet powerhead and a suction only combo floor head and it can stand upright with both floor heads. It also has a built in hose and tools. It's still lightweight. There is a cordless version but it's nearly twice the price. 4. [Makita DCL182ZB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 18V](https://www.amazon.com/Makita-DCL182ZB-Cordless-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B01N2Q07V0?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A1V5QA53AWV1MN&gQT=1) $126 (tool only, no battery or charger included). This Makita is a small cordless stick vacuum with a suction only floor brush and it uses small disposable bags. The batteries and chargers are not included with this vacuum but you may find some packages where they are included. This Makita vacuum has the weakest suction since it's cordless and uses 18V batteries. I'd really only try this vacuum if you already had Makita power tools and batteries. Great question with unusual options. Let me know what you think.

Good cordless vacuums can be expensive because a good battery adds a lot to the cost. Most cordless vacuums under $100 usually have weak suction and break within a year. Wand vacuums are even smaller than most cordless vacuums, they have even weaker suction and no cyclonic separator so their filters clog quickly. Always check around for sales on name-brand vacuums. I found a Hoover Onepwr Emerge $95 on Walmart's website, it's sold by 3rd party but it's returnable to Walmart stores. The Hoover Onepwr vacuums have removable and replaceable batteries. If you want affordable and durable I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124. It's a small corded stick vacuum with really good suction power and it's not too loud. The Vacmaster UB0302E $99-110 is a very small upright vacuum that uses hepa bags, it's the same small footprint as the Simplicity Spiffy. If you really want to be under $80 I'd check out corded stick vacuums. By forgoing the battery the prices of these stick vacuums is much less $50-60. Hope that helps.

All the little 2-in-1 stick vacuums like the Featherweight are pretty weak suction and poor filtration. This is one segment I’d go with the no-name brands on Amazon. The Intercleaner Corded Vacuum Cleaner 600 watt $59 is a corded stick vacuum with just straight suction (no brushroll). I bought a similar one for a friend renting a single bedroom and needed something small. Suction is way better than the Featherlight. It has a single cyclone and a pleated filter which are nice. If you go over $100 there’s the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $129. This is a corded stick vacuum with a large 9 amp motor and a 30 ft. cord. I had one and it rocked. Really powerful suction, 2 speeds, but it’s useless as a handheld because the upper handle is not removable.

I like the LG CordZero, it has removable and replaceable batteries, the cyclones are removable and easy to clean, and many models come with extra accessories and a charging stand. The LG CordZero Q3 C5323B0 $269 (LG's website), which comes with 1 battery, 2 tools, and a wall mount. The LG CordZero with Auto Empty Bin/Charger A931KWM $349 (lowes). The Dyson V8 Absolute $329 (dyson's website). The V8 is a good balance of weight and bin size. It has good suction. Downside is you cannot remove and wash the cyclones so they can build up dust and odors. It's an established model so there are a lot of aftermarket batteries available. A very affordable alternative is the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $129. This is a large stick vacuum with no brushroll so there's no hairwrap on this vacuum. It has a long 30 ft. cord and the suction power is strong, I use the low power for rugs, and high power for hard floors. The bin is bigger than a cordless vacuum's. Downside is it only has one crevice tool and it's not useful because the upper handle is not removable. What do you think?

A hepa filter is important. Most of the stick vacuums like the Bissell Featherweight have very basic fabric filters that let a lot of dust get blown back out. There aren't many options from the major vacuum brands. One alternative is the Vacmaster UB0302E $99. This is a small upright vacuum, it's a version of the Kenmore Intuition but without liftaway mode and it comes with less tools. It is very lightweight and it has swivel steering. Best of all it uses hepa bags and a hepa filter for very good filtration. It's very similar to a Shark Navigator so depending on the Shark model you have it might be the same weight. But if you have one of the bigger Sharks like the Apex, Vertex, or Stratos uprights the Vacmaster will be smaller and lighter. Most of the vacuums similar to the Bissell Featherweight have a filter in the middle of the bin with no cyclonic separation so the filter gets clogged up quickly. If you want a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter I'd look for one that has at least a cyclonic bin so you don't have to clean the filter as often. It does mean most of the options have the motor at the top which can make the handle weight heavier. I like the design of this Intercleaner Corded Vacuum Cleaner, 17KPa Powerful Suction with 600W Motor $53 on amazon. It has a single cyclone design, metal screen before the filter, 2 hepa filters, and a extendable wand. If you want the best filtration I'd choose the Vacmaster for a hepa bag and hepa filter and the 25 ft cord is longer than most stick vacuums. Slightly over $100 I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124, it's a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter. I've owned one and bought a 2nd one for my cousin. It has strong suction, a large bin, it's still lightweight, best feature is the 30 ft. cord. I could almost clean my whole 2 bedroom apartment from one plug. The Simplicity is simple and durable, I gave mine to a different cousin. What do you think?

If you are interested in the Simplicity S60 Spiffy you should know that the handheld mode is unusable. The upper handle only retracts a little, the crevice tool is hard to put on and take off, and it's too heavy to use as a handheld. But I would buy another if I didn't already have so many other vacuums. It's great as a hard floor and rug vacuum. Also emptying it from the top is easier and less messy than emptying it from the bottom. You take the motor off the top, pull out the cyclone, and tip it over. It's a lot easier than trying to hold the whole vacuum over a bin and use the door on the bottom. I'm not a fan of IonVac or any of the small cordless wand vacuums. To be ultra small and light they have small motors and tiny bins. I think the whole class of wand vacuums is too weak to be very useful. But if you try one keep the receipt for returns. If you are looking at the IonVac 3-in-1 corded stick vacuums I'm also not a fan of these. Although filter is better than the Bissell Featherweight it is still in the center of the bin with no cyclonic separation before it so it will clog up quickly. If you want a small cordless vacuum I do like the Hoover Onepwr DustChaser $72. It does have a small bin but it uses the removable and replaceable Onepwr batteries.

1. Bagless is a mistake 2. Cheap bagless is foolish 3. You can get a great bagged vac with Simplicity starting at 169 for the Jill Or 269 EZM60 Bagless vacuums are not BFL.
