Good cordless vacuums can be expensive because a good battery adds a lot to the cost. Most cordless vacuums under $100 usually have weak suction and break within a year. Wand vacuums are even smaller than most cordless vacuums, they have even weaker suction and no cyclonic separator so their filters clog quickly. Always check around for sales on name-brand vacuums. I found a Hoover Onepwr Emerge $95 on Walmart's website, it's sold by 3rd party but it's returnable to Walmart stores. The Hoover Onepwr vacuums have removable and replaceable batteries. If you want affordable and durable I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124. It's a small corded stick vacuum with really good suction power and it's not too loud. The Vacmaster UB0302E $99-110 is a very small upright vacuum that uses hepa bags, it's the same small footprint as the Simplicity Spiffy. If you really want to be under $80 I'd check out corded stick vacuums. By forgoing the battery the prices of these stick vacuums is much less $50-60. Hope that helps.

All the little 2-in-1 stick vacuums like the Featherweight are pretty weak suction and poor filtration. This is one segment I’d go with the no-name brands on Amazon. The Intercleaner Corded Vacuum Cleaner 600 watt $59 is a corded stick vacuum with just straight suction (no brushroll). I bought a similar one for a friend renting a single bedroom and needed something small. Suction is way better than the Featherlight. It has a single cyclone and a pleated filter which are nice. If you go over $100 there’s the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $129. This is a corded stick vacuum with a large 9 amp motor and a 30 ft. cord. I had one and it rocked. Really powerful suction, 2 speeds, but it’s useless as a handheld because the upper handle is not removable.

I like the LG CordZero, it has removable and replaceable batteries, the cyclones are removable and easy to clean, and many models come with extra accessories and a charging stand. The LG CordZero Q3 C5323B0 $269 (LG's website), which comes with 1 battery, 2 tools, and a wall mount. The LG CordZero with Auto Empty Bin/Charger A931KWM $349 (lowes). The Dyson V8 Absolute $329 (dyson's website). The V8 is a good balance of weight and bin size. It has good suction. Downside is you cannot remove and wash the cyclones so they can build up dust and odors. It's an established model so there are a lot of aftermarket batteries available. A very affordable alternative is the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $129. This is a large stick vacuum with no brushroll so there's no hairwrap on this vacuum. It has a long 30 ft. cord and the suction power is strong, I use the low power for rugs, and high power for hard floors. The bin is bigger than a cordless vacuum's. Downside is it only has one crevice tool and it's not useful because the upper handle is not removable. What do you think?

A hepa filter is important. Most of the stick vacuums like the Bissell Featherweight have very basic fabric filters that let a lot of dust get blown back out. There aren't many options from the major vacuum brands. One alternative is the Vacmaster UB0302E $99. This is a small upright vacuum, it's a version of the Kenmore Intuition but without liftaway mode and it comes with less tools. It is very lightweight and it has swivel steering. Best of all it uses hepa bags and a hepa filter for very good filtration. It's very similar to a Shark Navigator so depending on the Shark model you have it might be the same weight. But if you have one of the bigger Sharks like the Apex, Vertex, or Stratos uprights the Vacmaster will be smaller and lighter. Most of the vacuums similar to the Bissell Featherweight have a filter in the middle of the bin with no cyclonic separation so the filter gets clogged up quickly. If you want a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter I'd look for one that has at least a cyclonic bin so you don't have to clean the filter as often. It does mean most of the options have the motor at the top which can make the handle weight heavier. I like the design of this Intercleaner Corded Vacuum Cleaner, 17KPa Powerful Suction with 600W Motor $53 on amazon. It has a single cyclone design, metal screen before the filter, 2 hepa filters, and a extendable wand. If you want the best filtration I'd choose the Vacmaster for a hepa bag and hepa filter and the 25 ft cord is longer than most stick vacuums. Slightly over $100 I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124, it's a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter. I've owned one and bought a 2nd one for my cousin. It has strong suction, a large bin, it's still lightweight, best feature is the 30 ft. cord. I could almost clean my whole 2 bedroom apartment from one plug. The Simplicity is simple and durable, I gave mine to a different cousin. What do you think?

If you are interested in the Simplicity S60 Spiffy you should know that the handheld mode is unusable. The upper handle only retracts a little, the crevice tool is hard to put on and take off, and it's too heavy to use as a handheld. But I would buy another if I didn't already have so many other vacuums. It's great as a hard floor and rug vacuum. Also emptying it from the top is easier and less messy than emptying it from the bottom. You take the motor off the top, pull out the cyclone, and tip it over. It's a lot easier than trying to hold the whole vacuum over a bin and use the door on the bottom. I'm not a fan of IonVac or any of the small cordless wand vacuums. To be ultra small and light they have small motors and tiny bins. I think the whole class of wand vacuums is too weak to be very useful. But if you try one keep the receipt for returns. If you are looking at the IonVac 3-in-1 corded stick vacuums I'm also not a fan of these. Although filter is better than the Bissell Featherweight it is still in the center of the bin with no cyclonic separation before it so it will clog up quickly. If you want a small cordless vacuum I do like the Hoover Onepwr DustChaser $72. It does have a small bin but it uses the removable and replaceable Onepwr batteries.

r/VacuumCleanersBest stick vacuums with strong suction that last a long time?

Most cordless stick vacuums under $200 have very cheap batteries that wear out quickly. A corded and bagged vacuum will be more powerful and more durable. The Kenmore Intuition $150-180 is a small upright vacuum with hepa bags. It's as narrow as a stick vacuum but it can stand up and has a hose and tools. Very lightweight and good performance for the price. Downsides are it isn't as durable as some of the other bagged vacuums. The Simplicity Jill $179 is a small canister vacuum with hepa bags. It has strong suction and the simple design with less moving parts makes it last longer than uprights that cost the same price. It comes with an average combo floor tool for both hard floors and rugs and 3 accessory tools. Downsides are many people do not like having to pull a canister behind them. Simplicity Spiffy S60 $129 is a small corded stick vacuum that's bagless. One of the few bagless vacuums I recommend the Spiffy is a small stick vacuum that cleans hard floors and rugs. It has strong suction. It's darn simple and easy to use. The 30 ft. cord is way longer than most stick vacuum cords. Downsides are that it has no hose, and you need to regularly clean the filters because it's bagless.

r/VacuumCleanersRecommendations on stick for carpet

So far cordless vacuums cannot fully replace corded vacuums for cleaning carpets. If you can use a corded vacuum it will deep clean much better and last longer than a cordless vacuum. The Kenmore Intuition BU4022 and BU4050 $219-224 are small upright vacuums. They are as narrow as a cordless vacuum. They are lightweight, have swivel steering, and liftaway mode. They use hepa bags so you only need to change the bag once every 2 months. Oreck vacuums are very lightweight too. The Simplicity Spiffy S60 $284 is a small corded upright stick vacuum. It has no brushroll so it won't get hairwrap but it doesn't groom the carpet as well as a vacuum with a brushroll. If you need a cordless vacuum Dysons are ok among cordless vacuums. The problem is they are more expensive but they don't last any longer than cheaper cordless vacuums. The Dyson V8 is their best cordless vacuum. The V10, V11, and V15 are much heavier to hold and you are paying more for features that don't affect cleaning power. The laser and particle sensor don't make the vacuum clean any better. Always look for a cordless vacuum that has removable and replaceable batteries and has a bin and filters and cyclones that are removable and easy to clean. Many cordless vacuums have fixed batteries that stop the whole machine when they break or wear out in 12-24 months. The Hoover Onepwr Evolve $319 is pretty good among cordless vacuums. If you don't need any tools the bin is larger and you don't have a heavy handle since the motor and battery are lower on the vacuum. Again, cordless vacuums don't compare to corded vacuums on carpets. My top recommendation based on your needs is the Kenmore Intuition. My second recommendation is the Hoover Commercial Superior Lite Bagged, Multi-Floor, Professional Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Black, CH50200 $204 is an Oreck Commercial XL but it's cheaper in your market than the regular Oreck XLs. My last recommendation is the cordless Hoover Onepwr Evolve. What do you think?

We got a simplicity stick vacuum 6 years ago. Use it almost daily and she’s still running like a damn champ. Replaceable batteries too when this one goes out. It’s not our main vacuum though. We have a Kenmore Elite Canister. Have an older Riccar before they moved overseas. Also have a Qrevo Curv X robot vacuum as well as a Tineco Hammerhead. The simplicity though is a damn champ. No idea if you can still get them or not.
