Make sure you get one with a Hepa Filter for your allergies. I have a single temporary rug for an entry way cover and the rest is LVP flooring and tile. I ended up going with the Tineco iFloor 5 Breeze. I have severe persistent asthma. Posted here and didn't get much as far as recommendations so ended up digging into more research on different options and thats what I landed on. No regrets.
Not sure what flooring you have but I just got the Tineco iFloor 5 Breeze recently and loving it. I have asthma among other illnesses as well as animals who shed (a dog and a bun). Picks up everything like its nothing. No more dumping dust instead you dump the dirty water and rinse it out. ETA: it does have a Hepa Filter.
Not really no. Just dump the dirty water out, rinse it out along with the pieces, and set it to the side to dry. Put it back on the vacuum when you go to vacuum and wipe the standing mat down regularly. I wipe the mat down when I go to grab it and use it. Takes less than 5 minutes to put it back together and take it apart to rinse it out. I had started to need a mask every time I vacuumed until getting this one. I would cough and struggle to breathe without one when especially going to dump the canister out. I hate wearing masks so its an extra bonus lol ETA: btw it does clean itself by plugging it in and hitting the self clean button on the handle. Just make sure it has enough clean water and enough room in the dirty water tank. After it does its self clean for the roller, I take the dirty water tank off and clean it. It only takes a couple minutes for the self clean.
Im not sure what kind of floors you have but the Tineco iFloor 5 Breeze is great for mostly everything but carpet. I even use it on my bathroom tile floor. I have a dog and bun who leave dust bunnies every where which I use a handheld vacuum when I see them but the Tineco sucks them up like its nothing. Also not a fan of Dyson or shark for pet hair myself. Not sure what you are looking for but Im happy with my purchase for once in my life.
There are vac/mops that vacuum while you mop like the Bissell Crosswave and Tineco iFloor combos. These mostly only mop and cannot dry vacuum floors, carpets, or do anything above the floor. Among the cordless vac/mops I only recommend machines with removable and replaceable batteries because the battery is such a common failure and wear item. The Hoover Onepwr Streamline and Ryobi Swift Clean are the only vac/mops that are decent and have removable batteries. The Dyson V9 with the Submarine mop attachment is a dry cordless stick vacuum good for all around vacuuming with a mop attachment. The mop attachment mops but doesn’t vacuum at the same time so you need to dry vacuum first and then mop. Vac/mops require a lot of cleanup after each use. Dyson’s submarine also is quite messy and requires a lot of cleanup after each use. Personally I would choose a decent cordless stick vacuum like a Dyson V8 or a LG CordZero and get a good manual mop like a O’Cedar Spin Mop or a good reusable spray mop. Both mop better than the Submarine and are less cleanup than a vacuum/mop. There are lots of choices. Hope that helps.

Data point: I have a tineco stick vacuum and the vacuum mop. Like ‘em both. If don’t have carpet and you mostly want clean floors, go vacuum mop. I use mine more frequently than the vacuum. If you like clean floors but also want the ability to easily clean the crumbs out of the silverware drawer, the lint out of the dryer trap and suck up fossilized fruit snacks from couch crevices, get the stick vacuum. This is why i 💗 the vacuum.
Absolutely. A cordless stick vacuum is life changing. A Dyson is amazing. Any vacuum that prevents hair wrap is a must have. Because who has the spoons for doing that extra step. I’m also going to recommend a tineco vacuum mop. Best thing ever. Even when I’ve forgotten to clean it out it wasn’t that bad.
Agree with posters on using as supplemental vacuum. That said I have a thing for vacs lol I do have a Tineco wet vac. It’s not bad. It’s easy to use and gets the job done. No experience with their stick vacs. I have a dyson v…have no idea. it has the light thing. it did ok job picking up. Needs maintenance of course. What drove me crazy was the dirt not coming out of the bin easily.. Would be a big wad of dust that I have to bang to get out or stick my hand..gross. I just got the Shark powerdetect with the auto-empty a few weeks ago. Been nice not messing with the cloud of dust. Haven’t had to empty the main bin yet. Costco has it on sale now here in the US. All that to say if you do go for a stick vac, might be worth checking out the auto empty versions if your budget allows.
