I like the suggestions from r/SumGai7. I haven’t used the Bissell Spinwave, but I have a Tineco Pure Obe S12 Pro EXand is has been a huge disappointment. While I appreciate the design features and it does fairly well on tile and area rugs, 2 years and one month after purchase the motor failed. Tineco no longer supports the model (1 month outside of warranty) and they discontinued the motor. I’m working with an eBay source to get a replacement motor. Also I had to use Chat GPT to help me reach the motor and troubleshoot to get the exact part number info as Tineco documentation is sparse. AVOID Tineco!! I’m shopping for a replacement now and tried out the Miele cordless, it was very nice. It had a floor polisher roller option that if I had wood floors I would seriously consider.

Regardless of how long they last, the problem with tineco is that they discontinue their filters, so in 5 years you’re stuck with a working vacuum and no options for replacing the filters. I’m currently washing my S10 pre filters by hand to try and get the most life possible out of them. HEPA filter replacements are non existent. Would not buy another tineco.

Sorry I made a mistake, we have a Pure One S12. Regardless, yes, I know there are filters available on Amazon but they are all non-name products (can I actually trust that it’s a HEPA grade filter?). Tineco itself doesn’t make them anymore which shows they don’t support their products long term. Quick edit: I’m still not seeing a HEPA filter compatible with the S12 available in Canada. They say they are but the filters don’t actually fit. I went down the rabbit hole on this last year and came to the same conclusion but I’m not willing to start buying filters again only to find they aren’t compatible.

I wonder this as well. I have had lots of brands over the years, but not a Miele or Riccar. My favorite is my Dyson Cinetic canister. The suction is so much stronger than anything I have ever used. I have been using it for about 8 years now. Hopefully it never dies as they don’t make it anymore. For quick pickup of cat fur and liter I use a Tineco S1 stick.

I’m in sort of of the same boat. My wife trains service dogs and we have 5 dogs (and 3 kids) in the house. Also, because 5 dogs, my back yard is a mud farm and everything is coated in a layer of dirt. We have a tinneco pure 1 (it’s a stick vacuum with a base compartment). We vacuum the main part of the house where the dogs are (living room, laundry, entry, kitchen dining room). The living room really is the place we vacuum, 3-4 times a day but everything listed gets hit at least once a day (maybe twice in rainy days). We decided that making vacuuming convenient was more important than doing it super well (cause let’s face it, it’s gonna be dirty again in 5 minutes) and reliability took a back seat to convenience. So for us convenience > reliability > performance. We didn’t think ANY vacuum would make our floors 100% clean, so we didn’t try. Just get them 80% and but clean often. Then we mop probably every day or every other day…..(why do we have this many dogs again?) THEN we keep a corded shark in the basement where we keep their kennels. The shark is 5 years old and it sucks up everything but it’s heavy, so it stays in the basement) we also use this one to vacuum their kennels. We found that doing some work on our yard and cleaning the dogs as they come in, helped a ton. We still haven’t found a great solution yet. I rambled a lot. If you have any questions or suggestions for us. Let me know.

I'm using Tineco Pure One, an affordable option for daily usage. I also have a corded Miele C3 for stronger suction. Miele is definitely where quality is at.

I was in almost the same boat and ended up with a Tineco PURE ONE. I mainly grabbed it because it was under $200, but I’ve actually been really happy with it. It works as both a stick vacuum and a handheld, and it’s perfect for quick messes. The battery has been totally fine for small cleanups like hair and litter, but has gotten iffy a couple of times when I’m trying to detail my whole car. If you’re still deciding, [check out the detailed comparison thread](https://www.reddit.com/u/lacking_foyer48/s/C5YNcaeFWo) another redditor put together. Made it way easier for me to narrow things down without getting lost in all the options.

Yes, as it looks like you are referring to stick vacuums. I got a refurbished V8 about 12 years ago. The battery started to crap out after five years, so I got a Tineco. I moved the Dyson to my second floor for quick jobs and kept the Tineco on the main floor for daily work (between wood kitchen floor, rugs and carpeted living/dining room). Then I realized I could replace the V8 battery. It came back to life and I was reminded how well it worked. I had to replace the Tineco battery after one year and then when it was dying again the second year, I gave up on it and got a new Dyson V15. It is awesome and worth every expensive penny. I have a Sebo canister vacuum as a "deep clean", but I have been underwhelmed with it. My two Dyson sticks do a great job and I vacuum pretty much everyday. I spent $200 on the Tineco that lasted two years and I hated it. I spent $200 on my 12yo V8 and replaced the battery once. I spent $700 on my new V15 and plan to have it last just as long as my V8 (which is still going strong). (Oh, I also should mention I don't have pets, but I have long hair and so does my daughter. The V15 is noticeably great at staying unclogged with wrapped up hair.)

I had two Tineco’s and really liked them. Unfortunately, they both broke. I recently got a Riccar stick vacuum. I’m very impressed with the build and suction. It’s a bit heavier. The battery just pops out to recharge or you can recharge on its stand. It’s pricier than Tineco, $400, but I think it will last a lot longer.

I love my Tineco stick vac (higher rated than the Dyson by the NYT Wirecutter) and so does my son and DIL, to whom I gifted one. However, another son is ready to fight us over the supremacy (so he says) of his Dyson. So both are great.
