Ah yes! I always forget about the Captura and forgot its model number. Yes That’s a good option for you.
That Bissell doesn’t have a brushroll switch - you want that turned off for hard floors. The Captura is the better buy for your flooring.
The very cheapest vacuum capable of dealing with carpet is the Bissell Powerforce Bagged upright, it's about $60ish at walmart. Cleans carpets fairly well and uses bags. It's not great on hard floors though. If you can stretch to it, a vacmaster UB0302E would be a better choice. Higher quality filtration and the ability to shut the brush off for the tile floors. I would avoid budget cordless vacuums, they are not going to be as effective at removing fleas and eggs from the carpet. It's not worth sacrificing the performance for convinience in this case, to be blunt.
I agree, the vacuums at Target under $100 are not very good for carpets and hard floors. Many will break in 1-2 years and then you'll need another vacuum. Vacmaster makes all of the Kenmore vacuums and has several cheaper models on amazon. The Vacmaster UB0302E $104 is a Kenmore Intuition without the liftaway mode. It uses hepa bags and a hepa filter. It has swivel steering and brushroll shutoff for hard floors. The Kenmore Intuition BU4050 with a hair eliminator brushroll is $170. The Vacmaster UB0402 $126 is a copy-cat of Oreck light weight vacuums. The Vacmaster UB0402 is super lightweight and uses large hepa bags. It has no hose or tools, but this vacuum is very simple and should last longer than most bagless vacuums.
Most of the cordless vacuums under $100 are terrible. They have weak suction and the battery dies after a year. I recommend either the corded Vacmaster UB0302E $99 (Amazon) this is a small corded upright. It’s a cheaper version of the Kenmore Intuition. It’s as narrow as a stick vacuum and the hepa bags will last 2-3 months per bag. Or a corded stick vacuum like the Interclear Corded Vacuum 600W $79. This vacuum is corded so you won’t have to worry about the battery dying in a year. This vacuum has a single cyclone which is better than none. It comes with 2 small pleated filters which is better than the coarse fabric filter on a Bissell Featherweight. The Vacmaster is the better vacuum and it can stand up on its own.
Good cordless vacuums can be expensive because a good battery adds a lot to the cost. Most cordless vacuums under $100 usually have weak suction and break within a year. Wand vacuums are even smaller than most cordless vacuums, they have even weaker suction and no cyclonic separator so their filters clog quickly. Always check around for sales on name-brand vacuums. I found a Hoover Onepwr Emerge $95 on Walmart's website, it's sold by 3rd party but it's returnable to Walmart stores. The Hoover Onepwr vacuums have removable and replaceable batteries. If you want affordable and durable I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124. It's a small corded stick vacuum with really good suction power and it's not too loud. The Vacmaster UB0302E $99-110 is a very small upright vacuum that uses hepa bags, it's the same small footprint as the Simplicity Spiffy. If you really want to be under $80 I'd check out corded stick vacuums. By forgoing the battery the prices of these stick vacuums is much less $50-60. Hope that helps.
The Kenmore DU5092 is much smaller so it will take more passes to clean the same area. It is made by the same supplier that makes Shark vacuums and it has some of the same problem areas like an ineffienient single cyclone design that allows a lot of dust to clog up the filters and a weak lower hose. It does have brushroll shutoff so it will be better than the Hoover on hard floors. If you like the DU5092 the Kenmore Intuition BU4050 $170 is a bagged version of these vacuums and so they avoid the bagless problems. They often run sales so look for the best deal. There's also the Vacmaster UB0302E $119 which is a cheaper version of the Intuition without liftaway mode. I would choose the Vacmaster UB0302E first, the Hoover UH75260V second, and the Kenmore DU5092 last because it has the worst replacement parts availability.
I don't recommend Dyson dupes or copies. Cordless vacuums have a lot of drawbacks to be lightweight and get to a certain price. The battery can't be too big or heavy and since the battery is a very expensive component other parts are smaller or cheaper. So I only recommend name brand cordless vacuums that have replaceable batteries and replacement parts available. Sometimes I've seen an LG CordZero A9 and Samsung Jet 60 with basic models under $200. I wouldn't buy anything cheaper than those vacuums because the cheap cordless vacuums break in a year or less and then they're aren't repairable. If you are looking to stay around $100 I recommend looking at the corded Kenmore Intution. It's a small upright vacuum with hepa bags. It's light and since the motor sits near the wheels the handle weight is actually less than a cordless vacuum. Many of the Kenmore Intuitions range from $150-180. There's a cheaper Intuition BU3040 that removes the liftaway mode and usually goes on sale for around $120-130. There's a cheaper Vacmaster UB0302E $100-120 this is same vacuum as the Intuition BU3040 but with less tools and bags included. Another option is to look at the corded stick vacuums. Not the $30 Bissell Featherweights, but the Dyson dupes with a cord. They're even cheaper than the cordless Dyson dupes. Since they are corded they don't have run time limits or battery issues. If you get a corded stick vacuum buy replacement filters to have as backup because they don't stock replacement parts for long. The downside of a corded stick vacuum is it isn't as powerful or have the capacity of an upright and you don't get any cordless convenience. They usually don't stand up and still have a heavy handle weight.
I don't recommend any of the vacuums listed. The bagless Bissell vacuums filter poorly and don't last very long. The Eureka 3670M does not have a powerhead for carpets and the Intercleaner vacuums are cheap and don't deep clean carpets. I do recommend the Bissell PowerForce Bagged 1739 $58. It's a good vacuum for carpets, and you can get use Style 7 Hepa bags from Clean Obsessed and other brands to make the filtration good. Downsides are a short cord and short hose but that's par for vacuums under $100. I do recommend the Vacmaster UB0302E, this is a cheaper version of the Kenmore Intuition and it sells for $99-125. So you check it's current price. It's a better all-around vacuum because it has brushroll shutoff for hard floors. I know you didn't ask for that but it makes it more flexible if your flooring changes. If you've ever wanted a Kirby vacuum you can usually find good condition used Kirbys for $50-100. They are heavy but they last forever and they're great at cleaning carpets. Thoughts?
A hepa filter is important. Most of the stick vacuums like the Bissell Featherweight have very basic fabric filters that let a lot of dust get blown back out. There aren't many options from the major vacuum brands. One alternative is the Vacmaster UB0302E $99. This is a small upright vacuum, it's a version of the Kenmore Intuition but without liftaway mode and it comes with less tools. It is very lightweight and it has swivel steering. Best of all it uses hepa bags and a hepa filter for very good filtration. It's very similar to a Shark Navigator so depending on the Shark model you have it might be the same weight. But if you have one of the bigger Sharks like the Apex, Vertex, or Stratos uprights the Vacmaster will be smaller and lighter. Most of the vacuums similar to the Bissell Featherweight have a filter in the middle of the bin with no cyclonic separation so the filter gets clogged up quickly. If you want a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter I'd look for one that has at least a cyclonic bin so you don't have to clean the filter as often. It does mean most of the options have the motor at the top which can make the handle weight heavier. I like the design of this Intercleaner Corded Vacuum Cleaner, 17KPa Powerful Suction with 600W Motor $53 on amazon. It has a single cyclone design, metal screen before the filter, 2 hepa filters, and a extendable wand. If you want the best filtration I'd choose the Vacmaster for a hepa bag and hepa filter and the 25 ft cord is longer than most stick vacuums. Slightly over $100 I really like the Simplicity S60 Spiffy $124, it's a corded stick vacuum with a hepa filter. I've owned one and bought a 2nd one for my cousin. It has strong suction, a large bin, it's still lightweight, best feature is the 30 ft. cord. I could almost clean my whole 2 bedroom apartment from one plug. The Simplicity is simple and durable, I gave mine to a different cousin. What do you think?
